Chapter 93: CHAPTER 92 SORRY FOR THE LONG HIATUS
With his advantage of being a kingdom that has ascended on the higher realm, Shadow is more than confident that he can conquer the worlds from the lower realm.
After making a deal with the mermaid queen, he wants to increase the strength of this world.
His reason for this is the world besides it, the Mermaid World is actually surrounded by other worlds that have a chance of ascending.
Beast World, Ruled by two races, the beasts and the monsters, there is also a race that is called the hybrids.
Because of their impure bloodlines, they are treated as slaves but from time to time, there is a variant amongst them, one that possesses tremendous strength.
Other than Beast World, there is also a Human World but Shadow does not want to enter it for now, his instinct is warning him that there seems to be a powerful entity protecting it.
Actually, Beast World is also the same but the threat seems to be weaker than that of the former.
Back to Shadow, after leaving the Mermaid Queen's palace, he returns back to his kingdom in order to monitor the expansion of his troops.
Suddenly, there is a commotion, a human warrior covered in blood comes running to him, his armour is broken and there is a gaping hole in his shoulder.
"My lord, please punish me! I have failed you!" He shouts with an expression filled with determination.
Shadow waves his hand and frowns, with a dignified voice "Tell me, what happened?"
"My men and I are cautiously scouting the area designated on us, suddenly, we were caught in a rain of arrows that came out of nowhere!" Fear can be seen in his eyes.
"We might be vigilant but the speed of the arrows are just too fast for us to react accordingly, most of my men died from the barrage." His face is filled with hate and indignation.
"Then, our enemies appear, they seem to be a race that is half man and half horse, they were holding bows that are glowing with divine light." He punches the ground.
He continues but his words are filled with hatred, it seems that the next following events is something he does not wish to remember.
"Our group was destroyed by a frontal assault, we were unable to put up a fight, the expression of our enemies is that of contempt and joy."
"They were playing with us! Those bxstards treated my men as their playthings!"
Tears streams from his eyes "My men used their bodies in order to stop those beasts, their only wish is for me to escape!"
His body starts trembling "I was forced to retreat with my trusted stead, I saw my men being stomped but they were not killed immediately, those beasts were torturing them, their laughter towards my men's suffering continues to ring in my head."
He takes a deep breath in order to calm himself down, he is in front of his lord, he is the dignified general of his platoon, he must show this.
"I can only flee without looking back! I thought that I finally managed to escape but!" He grits his teeth.
"Those beasts are too horrifying in their archery, just one arrow, if it were not for my stead reacting instinctively, I would have killed already."
"In order to save me, it was my horse that was hit by their arrow, the arrow exploded, causing me to be blown away by the impact. I, I, survived."
Shadow approaches him and pats him in his uninjured shoulder "You have done well bringing back such important information, leave the rest to me."
He releases a series of commands, telling everyone to put a halt in their expansion plan.
They must first build some bases in the locations that they had already mapped out, his next destination is the library, he must first talk with a certain person, in order to obtain more accurate information regarding their current enemy.
The village chief of Almighty Heaven Village, the first village that he managed to obtain in this realm appears.
He is smiling in a humble manner but Shadow knows that he is clearly a proud person, it seems that he is still thinking of reviving their fallen kingdom.
'Unfortunately for you, I will not let you succeed, I know for a fact that you are angry that I have taken the village head status from you but I cannot trust such a person.' Shadow thought.
"I came here to ask something from you, it is about a race that has a feature of both a man and a horse. Do you perhaps have any knowledge about them?" This is very important for this kingdom.
"The Centaurs!" The expression of the former village chief changes, he takes a deep breath but Shadow can see that he is afraid.
"They are a race of warriors, considered to be a sub variant of the God Race, born with strength and ability to wield their bows, they are powerful for many lower creatures."
He hesitates, he wants to ask something but he is afraid that he will inspire his new lord's wrath, so he decides to keep silent.
Shadow can sense his emotions, he asks "What is it that you want to know? You are free to ask me any questions."
The village chief smiles and praises him but inwardly, he knows that the so-called "any questions" is just a trap.
"May I ask, What is the appearance of the Centaurs that you have encountered?" He asks with sweats falling in his forehead.
"Is their appearance that important?" This question piqued his interest, Shadow raised his eyebrow and stared at his eyes.
"Yes, If they are four legged, then, their strength is more powerful than their other counterpart, their ability to wield bows are also greater, they are considered as the true members of their race."
Adam thought about the explanation of his general and realises that this is the clan that they are going to fight.
"What is the other clan of their race?" Since they are already fighting with one clan, it will not hurt to know more information regarding the other.
