Chapter 7: OTHER PEOPLE CAN LIE TO ME
Bai Xin Xi was needing her face with ice, the swelled-up area was now turning a deep pink. Earlier Han Yi Fei asked the waiter if she could get some ice. "Don't let anyone know what happened her okay." Bai Xin Xi looked at her nervously.
"Erm."
Because Han Yi Fei ordered everything the food was slowly coming out. They spent 30 minutes talking about everything.
"Xi Xi were there any boys that liked you when you were at school?"
"Ummmmm, there were none at least I don't think so," she said with laughter.
"How about any that you like?"
She turned a bright red from embarrassment and then said, "I have someone already special in my heart. I love him allot."
Han Yi Fei was quiet from her friend's little confession. She didn't think that Bai Xin Xi would dare like anyone else other than Mo Yan.
"You already have someone you like... I mean love!"
Mo Yan was outside when he heard that she loved someone already. He made sure that there was no man that could get to her when she went to school. His eyes darkened and his mood soured. Han Sei Chen was cussing his sister out. The Mo Yan he knew would find out who the little goddess likes and crush him.
Yan Bei Cheng couldn't wait anymore he slide the door open to the private room. All three men were shocked to find that Bai Xin Xi's perfect face was marred by a red handprint. The already angered man was now furious.
He walked over to her in two steps and lifted her up. Not realizing what was happening she was already in the private bathroom with him.
She found his deep penetrating gaze looking at her.
"Who did it?"
His voice was low and hush it could scare anyone into submission. Bai Xin Xi wasn't scared but she knew that someone would suffer.
"I… fell," as he held her against the door.
He knew that she was lying to him, but what irked him more was that she wasn't willing to tell him the truth. Instead he took his phone out and dialed Sei Ren.
"Find out what happened to Madame at the mall today."
She panicked, she held his other hand, "Mo Yan, please." She begged him not wanting him to look further into what happened today. He saw her pitiful gaze his heart softened. He lightly touched her burning face that formed the handprint.
She clenched her hand when he touched her wound, she didn't gather that her other hand was clenching his tightly. He knew that whoever slapped her hurt her badly. His heart went out to her, still being so brave. She looked like a gust of wind could tip her over. He wanted to keep her in his embrace forever to protect her from everyone that caused her pain.
"It's okay," she said trying to brighten up her voice. It failed miserably, however.
"Other people can lie to me, but you can't."
He had the last word, "If I tell you what happened can you let them off?"
The girl was still in a mood to negotiate after what she had been through.
"Tell me Xin Xi."
"…"
He lifted her chin up so that she was staring at him directly.
"I got slapped in the face."
He almost slipped a smile when he saw her stubborn nature come through. She only did that with him which made his eyes slightly twinkle. He was waiting for her to say more but she didn't say anymore.
Her stomach growled. She sighed in relief knowing that her body saved her from his intense gaze.
She looked up at him cutely, "Can we go eat? I only had breakfast."
"Em."
He let go of her waist and was about to pull her towards the door.
"Who do you love?"
"!!!" her eyes were bulging out of her eye sockets. She didn't know that he listened to Han Yi Fei and her conversation. Her face turned as bright as a watermelon, "Um, that's a secret."
She knew that he wasn't happy with her answer, so she added, "He's married already."
For some reason he was happy hearing that answer. His heart was beating so fast when he realized that she didn't answer him yet. He needed to find out who this mystery man was. Nodding his head, he led her back to the private room.
The other party saw the couple holding hands, Yan Bei Cheng and Han Sei Chen was excited when they saw that Mo Yan made a move towards there little Sister in Law.
He sat right next to her. His large body swallowed the space on her other side was a wall. He made it so that when she moved, she would have to bump into him. His body radiated warmth causing her to shiver. He misunderstood it as her being cold. When the waiter came back, he asked her to turn the heat up.
"!!!"
"Mo Yan are you trying to kill us!"
It was already hot in the room with four other people it was just right.
"I'm cold."
Both of his friends looked at him because Bai Xin Xi shivered a little, he was willing to turn up the heat for her.
"Little Sister in Law are you cold?" Yan Bei Cheng asked for help.
"I'm fine," she looked at the two comical men staring at her.
She thought that they were just being funny.
The food arrived shortly there were so many dishes, the restaurant had dishes that Bai Xin Xi loved. Everything looked so good her mouth started watering. She then remembered that Mo Yan was right next to her.
She looked at a dish she remembered that he liked to eat. In a bowl she scoped the soup and gave it to him. The other three people were astonished. "Mr. Devil" never ate anything that was handed by anyone.
Mo Yan took the bowl from her and started to eat. No one could tell but he was happy that she gave him food.
"Let's eat!" Bai Xin Xi said to the others. It was like watching a 30-year-old married couple. They were so harmonious with each other.
She picked up the fish and deboned it and put some in his bowl. Her actions were so cute, the two were envious of Mo Yan.
"Xi Xi you're only giving food to Brother Mo how about me."
Mo Yan shot a hot glare towards Han Yi Fei which she didn't notice but her brother did.
"Here's some sweet pork. I know you love this."
Mo Yan pouted like a spoiled child not getting his way, it was only a brief moment, but the air was off. He wanted to be the only one being pampered. He would make sure that she doesn't get to spend lots of time with Han Yi Fei anymore. He didn't want to share her with anyone.
She forgot to feed herself, he saw a dish she liked to eat so he put it in her bowl. She looked to find his nonchalant facial expression and turned to eat her food.
She felt full and was quite happy now. She didn't notice that the man next to her was staring at her. She looked across and found that Yan Bei Cheng and Han Sei Chen were staring at her.
"Brother Yan and Brother Han, do I have something on my face?"
"Xi Xi there staring at your beauty. If Brother Mo wasn't married to you one of these men would have married, you."
She looked at them puzzlingly and then laughed.
"What are you talking about?"
All three of them looked at her like she was crazy. Didn't she know how pretty she was, even the moon would hide from her.
Mo Yan knew why she was like this. After her parent's death she was told constantly that she was ugly. From then on, she thought she was ugly. He remembered that one night passing by her room she was screaming and crying. He woke her up from her dream, her usually warm eyes were glazed with fear.
"Brother Mo Yan, I don't want to be hurt anymore. I messed up but please don't hit me. I know I said the wrong things I shouldn't have taken her things. I'm not pretty enough for that dress." She was hysterically crying.
His arm unconsciously went behind her chair. He glared at the men in front of him shutting them up.
'Mr. Devil' is conscious of Sister in Law. If I say something wrong, I might get skinned alive.'
"Xi Xi do you want to shop more?"
She was tired although the heat from the slap subsided, she wanted to rest. She looked at her phone, it was a missed call from her buddy at school.
"Let me make a quick phone call fast." She stepped outside not wanting to disturb them.
"Xin Xi are you okay!" Ana a friend she made in school was worried about her.
"I'm fine, is there something wrong?"
"There were these big men looking for you, I thought that you were in trouble. If you're okay, then I'll let you go."
Bai Xin Xi's heart dropped. She knew that her Uncle was looking for her but as of right now she didn't know who to turn to or where to run to. She turned around and bumped into a hard chest. His big hands enveloped her making her feel safe and secured. Instead of fighting the embrace she cuddled more into his warmth.
Mo Yan was surprised at her act he didn't think that she would embrace him willingly. He felt something wet on his shirt. He heard the conversation when he came to check on her. He knew that her Uncle wanted to find her. He wouldn't let that happen though. He would protect her no matter what.
"Are you okay?" she looked up tears stained her beautiful features.
"I.." she looked up at his trusting eyes and seemed to get lost in them.
He understood that she didn't want to talk about it yet. He let it go and wiped her tears.
"Mo Yan, I've never seen you…" Wei Zhen Bei trailing off as he interrupted their little love scene.
Embarrassed Bai Xin Xi let go of Mo Yan and went inside to the room.
"Mo Yan you're happy huh," smiling at his friend. All the guys knew that he was very much in love with Bai Xin Xi.
Mo Yan ignored his friend and went inside. Walking after him he then found that he spoke to fast. Han Yi Fei was watching him. He bit his own tongue for making fun of him now.
"Were about to leave, Xi Xi is tired. We'll come and have fun with you next time."
"Brother Wei I'll have someone order something for you." Han Yi Fei said excitingly.
"Since Zhen Bei is here to entertain Xiao Fei let's go." The men knew that Wei Zhen Bei did something wrong to Mo Yan and quietly left with them.
"!!!"
The black range rover parked in front of the mall. He opened the door for her, and she got in immediately.
'Did I tell him that I was going with him?' she looked nervously at the handsome man. She was in such a close space with him. She nervously fiddled her hands in her lap. She looked out the window.
From his side eye he could see her fidgeting. He could tell that she was nervous. At the stop sign he sent a message to Sei Ren to make sure that she would be protected from her Uncle. Mo Yan thought that it was her Uncle making her nervous.
