Chapter 3: 003 - The Angel and his enemy. Part 3
The sun just has risen, but the temperature is already a hellish experience for Gabriel. Not only he wasn't used to living in this world, not only for the angel that was supposed to support him giving him nightmares but also he is near broke and have to find stable income.
He walks around the city to see if he can find some part-time jobs which will give him some money to sustain his daily life.
"That's a human realm for you. Earning money for your daily life must be no joke."
Yes, the top-of-the-class Gabriel studied the traditions, language, and culture of the people in the human realm. Hitting the books in the library every day, he was able to learn almost everything he needs to learn to survive to live.
"Still, will I be able to land a job in such a short notice?" he wonders to himself.
And by the twist of fate, he met with the one he was looking for. A piece of paper flew to his face and as he removes it, he saw an ad for a part-time job.
[Hiring! Part-time Construction Worker! No requirements needed! Pay is 1,000 Yen per hour!]
As he saw the ad, he hurriedly went to the address written in the lower part of the ad and saw a girl in front of it.
"Thank God! This might be your answer to my prayers!" He joyfully prays.
But due to the weird situation and the halo beginning to glow above his head, the girl in front of him was in a big shock.
"Uhm... Are those for real?" the girl can only ask about the halo in that awkward situation.
There it goes! The question that Gabriel doesn't want to hear all the time! What could be his excuse this time?!
"It's just a piece of accessory, like for fashion," he answered and smiled nervously.
Afraid to get rejected to the only work that might only fit for him, his face begins to stiffen causing him to make a smiling face.
"Oh, I see!" is the only response he gets from the girl.
Thankfully, the girl in front of him was a big airhead.
"Well then, you should meet the boss for the details of your work!" she says as she opens the door behind her.
"Wait, what was your name?" Gabriel asked the girl in front of him.
The girl stiffens as if she doesn't want to answer the question laid out for her but, according to their rules, one must introduce themself when asked to (she just made it up actually.)
"My name is Lucifer! Lucy is fine though!"
As she answers his question, Gabriel's body felt chill as he heard the name Lucifer came out of the girl's name. Seeing his reactions, Lucy was a bit worried.
"Does it sound weird, sir?" she asked him casually.
"I don't know why my parents gave me this name, maybe because my mom was attracted to the character with the same name in a show from NiceFlex, or so my dad said." she further explained it to him.
"Well, what was your parent's name?" is the only question that he can make at that time.
Hearing his new question, the girl was a bit thrilled and excited for naming her parents.
"Oh! My mother's name is Lilith and my father was Asmodeus! Pretty cool right?" she answers him with a smile on her face.
[No! Your name wasn't because of a series from NiceFlex or something!]
The only words that can fill the innocent Gabriel's brain were that her family is consisting of demons - demonic name, that is.
"Well, what's your name sir?" Lucy asked him with excitement written all over her face.
"It's Gabriel." He answered her briefly.
As soon as she heard his name, she was in deep enthusiasm.
"Gabriel? What a pretty name! It's very angelic, that is!" she responded with awe.
Of course, Gabriel's name will sound angelic for one reason. He is a real angel, that's why.
"Well, it's nice to meet you again, Gabriel-san!" she shakes his hand and finally, let him inside the site.
As he went inside the construction site, Lucy was still in euphoria for having to hold hands with Gabriel. They don't know it yet, but them meeting each other was also part of the plan.
