Chapter 3: DAINA
"Good morning, participants!" said by the man in front of us. We're now in a pier owned by MNS. " My name is Eugene Menns, CEO of MNS Inc., and I welcome you to this year's MNS Independency training." he continued. We gave him an around of applause. Mr. Menns furthered that we will be housed in the Kondarto mansion located in an isolated island. The stay will last for three weeks in which we will be living with our fellow participants in order to experience living an independent life, and to get closer to each other as fellow scholars of MNS.
"Now, if you all are ready. Please board on the ship that will transport you to the Kondarto Mansion. I bid everyone good luck!" said by Mr. Menns as he ended his speech. We started to fall in line and one by one boarded the big ship that will carry us to our destination.
"We're finally here," said by the staff from MNS after a long three-hour sea journey. Elvis got even sea sicked because of the ride.
Minutes after unboarding, all of us touched the land.
"Woah," I heard Clarisse as she looked over something. I followed her gaze and I was surprised for the Kondarto mansion is a real beauty. The structure is somehow baroque. In the big wooden main door, MNS logo was carved.
"Oh my god! Finally, we're here!" Clarisse exclaimed. I motioned to her to be quiet.
"Let's go inside," said by the staff from MNS.
Quietly we followed her. If the outside was enough to make us amazed what more the inside of the mansion. Even if it's an old mansion according to the staff, the inside was fully lit. The entire mansion was decorated with paintings and sculptures.
"Welcome to the Kondarto mansion! This place will serve as your new home for three weeks. In here you will have the chance to gain by yourselves the necessary skills in becoming an independent. Now, for the room assignments. All five girls will stay on the second floor while five of the boys will be on the first floor and the remaining five boys will be occupying the third floor," the staff announced. That's when I realized that there's only fifteen of us.
"Are we going to be roommates?" the tallest boy in our group asked, Vince is written in his nameplate.
"No. There are five rooms in each floor so each one of you will get to have his or her own room," she answered.
"I see," Vince replied while nodding.
"For your room assignments: Vince 101;Earl 102; James 103; Carlo 104 and; Elvis 105. Those are the boys who will be staying at the first floor. The five girls who will stay at the second floor: Clarisse 201; Zoe 202; Daina 203; Paula 204 and; Emy 205. Kevin you will be in room 301; Bryan 302, Dick 303, Frances 304, and Christian in room 305. Do you have any questions or clarifications? If none please give us all of your communication devices. Everything in here is being monitored so if there is something wrong we will immediately take action," after she said that each one of us surrendered our gadgets.
"I bid you good luck and see you after three weeks," she said and started walking for the door.
"What!??" we, girls, reacted. The assistant stopped and asked us what's the problem.
"You're going to leave us with... them?" asked by timid-looking girl as she shyly pointed to the boys.
"Wow! What do you think of us? We'll never think doing bad things to you," said by the guy in glasses.
"Well of course, you will not get any guardian in here. Just like I what I have said, you will live by yourselves but under our monitoring. However, for your peace of mind please let it be known that we're just in a nearby building. These boys? They will pose no harm, right boys?" she said. All the boys agreed to her in unison. In a jiff, the fifteen of us were left alone inside the enormous mansion.
"Let's go to our rooms," Clarisse suddenly suggested. Then everybody started walking to their respective rooms.
"I can do this! This will be a fun three weeks," I said to myself while heading to my room.
