Chapter 30: To Set-Off Once More

His face set into a frown, scratching his cheeks while looking the remains of his Durandal armor set with a distaste. He should've seen this coming, but think the damage basically makes the armor irreparable.

The armor had accompanied him as long as he started to follow in the way of the voices after all –it holds a very deep sentimental value in the Dragonborn conscience.

Molten slag that now been frozen splotching the ebony plating with black and scorched marks, the chainmail melted into unrecognizable goo. The chest plate now sported a wide gap, the same as the helmet.

It was a miracle that the goddess managed to keep him away from others after he passed out –his identity could be exposed after all. In that state, he doesn't want to know what should happen if something befell to his goddess.

Still, he had many repertoires of armor that had higher stats than Durandal; Aetherium, Daedric, Dragonplate, artifact-class (Rare or long-lost item from quest or dungeon), etc. –But he simply can't allow one of his treasured armor to be discarded just like that.

Maybe it's time to forge the Mk.II of the Durandal. He heard there are a few rare metals in this world, one of them is Adamantine and Mithril. While indeed there's adamantine in the elder scrolls lore, the Dragonborn unfortunately never had the experience to see the metals.

Adamantium supposed to have extremely rigid integrity that rumored only the divine Arcanum could hope so much to scratch it, but exactly because of that, the forging method is almost impossible without the proper forge and skills, not to mention the materials are extremely heavy to wield.

That's why they seldom used in armor due to how heavy they are, instead, they're ideal for melee weapon especially the blunt one. Though, he won't any problem dealing with this weight, thanks to his specialty in heavy-armor skills and perks.

Meanwhile, Mithril is the most prized metals of all. It has a soft, light, and flexible texture in its raw state that they even began to doubt if it was metal in the first place. But once forged, Mithril can shrug even LVL 6 adventurer attack.

Both metals also perfect for magic armor since they can withstand stronger enchantments. He was like a child imagining his Christmas gift, seeing it on the front of the toy store.

Donning the Lord Nicholas's armor set, he went to the surface. Eager to get the metals, he should ask Eina of which dungeon floor he should mine it from.

Ereshkigal currently was on their 2nd house given by felt a few weeks ago, most of the furniture was also moved there. The house was a perfect spot beside the main, with a small-back garden and water well.

There are far too many eyes that observed their movement currently, thanks to the last event. He won't do anything as long as they didn't overstep their bounds… of course, that's only wishful thinking of his parts, he assigned Fou to accompany the goddess should anything happens.

He heard a few excited hush as he walked towards the guild, even a few men huddled together in the corner of the guild floor, excitement, and enthusiasm apparent in their eyes. Perhaps, something will happen?

"Eina, everyone seems happy about something, any ideas hmm?"

He approached the half-elves who busy sitting behind the reception desk, though there's a heavy air enveloped her.

"Oh, M'aiq." She lifted her head, and greet him with a professional smile, "Ah, actually the guild had permitted a war game just now."

A war game, one of the few legal ways to settle conflicts between two or more Familia. He nodded at the notion, no wonder everyone seems excited. While on the surface it looks peaceful way to settle a dispute, it's nothing but political games for the gods and casualties are still within possibility.

"Who's the lucky fellow that got dragged in this game, hmm?"

Eina sighed, fixing her glass and with a wry smile she answered, "The rumor is Apollo familia challenged Hestia because her children had injured Apollo's own while they were drinking in a tavern. The case is muddled due to the witnesses that said Hestia's children was the one who got provoked first."

"He sees."

He only nodded at the explanation. No wonder she was crestfallen because one of her charges got entangled in this problem. Normally, the testimony of the witnesses should have been enough, but it seems there's larger shadow playing behind the strings.

He assured, that Bell wasn't a person who got provoked so easily, nor swinging his hand so lightly. In the first place, it was ridiculous to blame adventurers who got in a bar fight, it was in their blood! Outrageous, and yet the impression he got was that Apollo's had his own agenda to fulfill regarding Hestia Familia.

He sighed ruefully, then again, it's not his problem to deal with. He already had enough after the last debacles with Molag. If he got involved it was the same thing as offering himself like a slab of meat.

He didn't want to deal with the Orario deities, after all, they're an annoying bunch. Always, constantly seeking the slightest entertainment, no doubt the current situation was also because of them.

"Eina, It just a curiosity, but do you know where you can mine Adamantine and Mithril in the dungeon."

"The rare metals huh? If I remember it right, the Mithril should start to appear on floor 30 below followed by Adamantine. Though they were so rare, that you barely get anything from the walls, also, you can get a small fraction of Adamantine in monster drop such as Minotaur Horn." Eina replied, then tilted her head, "What's the matter, asking such questions… don't you think you can mine it right?"

He scoffed at such a notion, "Nope, he just curious of these mysterious metals, nothing more."

He definitely not fear the lecture Eina will give him once he exposes his true intentions. He hurriedly excused himself, saying that he will now go to the dungeon.
