Chapter 4: Chapter 2: How the hero met the dragon
'Dragon's are mythological creatures who even exist way back in the age of Gods. They have tremendous scaled magical bodies and a lengthy tail, huge broad wings that can bring them up to the highest of the skies, pointed horns in the top of their heads, and deadly fangs. A single stare from their fierce stares is enough to lose your spirit and a single breath of fire can destroy a whole continent.
Their race is said to be the greatest and powerful race, but in the present time dragons are rarely sighted. As time passes dragons' survival rates are low, because of the manhunt.
Humanity gained most of the world's territory. Especially the 'kingdom of Fruexi' the most populated country and ranked in top among the other human kingdoms.
Back then, during the war with the demon king alongside its demon creatures and generals, the world was at its peak of destruction. So the humans decided to summon an almighty being from another world who surpasses all the humans and who possess the Holy sword the 'Hero
and would be the only one that can defeat the demon king.
The hero was already strong even before he was summoned, he learned magic easily, drove back the demon king's army in the blink of an eye.
Finally, the hero stood in front of the devil being the 'demon king' and they fought on the brink of their lives,
"Demon King! I, the hero shall be the one to strike you down!" Announce the braveness of the hero, he's already exhausted and if the battle will go for a little bit longer he believed that he would pass out.
"Hahaha! What a laugh lowly human, I cannot be defeated by an insect existence such as you are! I am the demon king for shall I end this battle right here and now!" Said the prideful demon king while his lost arm that was chopped by the hero's holy sword endlessly bleeding out.
Meanwhile, in the sky, a huge dragon passes by the battlefield. Its huge beautiful crimson wings cover almost half of the demon king's castle, it's golden shimmering and intimidating eyes gaze far away from the land. Attracting the attention of the demon king and the hero, they looked up above and saw this gigantic dragon. The crimson dragon didn't seem to know what was happening at the moment, however, he just flew up in the sky and continuously circling the demon king's territory.
The battle resumed. The hero strikes his holy blade while the demon king's attention was off. It landed on its chest and hence completely broke its armor off. The demon king was off guard and receive a strong impact from the hero's attack. because of anger he strikes back and swings his huge demon blade towards his enemy. The hero tries to avoid the attack however he couldn't deal with the damage, trying to strike a counterattack his legs gave out and he fell on his knees to the ground. The demon king laughs as he saw the hero kneeling.
"Hahaha! Hero! You have finally kneeled in front of me... Do not worry for I shall end your life in one stroke." Demon king said looking at the kneeling hero pitifully with his eyes full of happiness.
The demon king prepared a strong spell to completely vanish the hero from this world. He raises his blade and casts a strong magic attack.
"Farewell her-"
//BOOOM!!! /
"W-what was that? " the hero who was lying in the ground like a wet chick said, looking at a huge figure he couldn't see clearly because his right eye was lost during the battle. Dusk everywhere there and there, after a few seconds the dusk starts to vanish. Upon laying his eyes on this huge figure his eye widened. It was the dragon earlier. Its huge claw ended the demon king's life. Still shocked, the hero couldn't move an inch and didn't dare to do so.
"hmm... A human?" a strange deep voice echoed throughout the hero's head, he was a bit surprised and didn't know what to do. The dragon's gaze laid upon him, however, the was is no killing intent in its eyes, but it was still scary for him. Frozen in shocked the hero couldn't move.
"[Heal]"
The voice echoed once again in the hero's head, he suddenly felt warm and comfortable, his right eye healed and the pain all over his body went away. "What's happening to me? " curiously asking, the hero slowly stands up feeling so hyped up.
"Seems like it worked..." the Hero looked around if ever there was anyone there but didn't find a single living person nor an undead of somewhat, only a destroyed throne room only a bunch of debris around and a looking above in front of him there lay a huge and gigantic crimson dragon. "D-did you heal my wounds? " the hero asked the dragon with a loud voice. "Hmm yes, I did. You're almost dying earlier when I came so I decided to heal you with my magic for I, do not have a grudge against the humans." with its deep, menacing, and scary voice, the dragon replied. "T-thank you! I owe you with my life! " the hero loudly said. "No, it's nothing, I just happen to passed by this place..." The dragon replied and its intense gaze towards the hero turns away.
Dragon felt a little awkward towards the hero because it keeps staring at him for over an hour now. "Why do you keep looking at me like that human?" The dragon asked while its eye closed. "Hahaha! No, nothing I was just admiring you, for easily defeating my opponent and healing all my injuries." Hero said just after laughing. He sat down on the ground and crossed his legs together. Dumbfounded, the dragon said, "Opponent? Who? I don't see anyone... " the crimson dragon looked around and never did found any enemy. The hero laugh, the dragon asked why was he laughing and he replied,
"It's under you... "
"Huh? "
While the hero was having an intense battle with the demon king while in the sky the crimson dragon was trying to find a perfect place to rest. He took a stroll around the continent and found the demon king's territory a comfortable place to rest.
He circled the territory and casts a barrier around so that no one would bother his rest. After a few seconds, he descended from the vast blue cloudy dark sky. And Led to the moment wherein he met the hero. He felt a little itchy under his left claw and didn't let him bother it. He notices a strong presence next to him and turns his huge head to the left and saw a dying human. He unconsciously cast [Heal] a 2 tier healing magic to the dying human.
The hero said, that the opponent he was talking about was the 'demon king' the strongest evil being in the world. The dragon was surprised upon knowing that. "The demon king? O hoo~I didn't think that I killed the demon king with my claw" The dragon laughs. "Then young hero, I shall grant you my blessing for taking your time talking to this old man... " he chuckles.
surprised by the braveness of the human. since he was bored he decided to give him a blessing of some sort.
The dragon faced the hero and raises one of its fingers a blessing to him. The hero's body glowed and he feels a little bit stronger than before, mana flows into his body and felt a little bit warm. After a while, they talk about a lot of things about the world where the hero came from and what was he doing before he was summoned to this world. The dragon did the same and talked about his life as a dragon.
In a short period, the two became close friends and for a short while, days have passed and the hero decided to get back to the kingdom to give the news about the demon king have been defeated. Before he left, the dragon gave him a necklace and advice also farewell words.
"Although, it's just a short time I am glad we became close friends. I wouldn't have thought that I could talk to a human for a long period. You were the first human to open up to me and my very first friend, with all my heart I thank you. This necklace will protect you." He paused and felt sad for a moment.
"I hope to see your descendant in the future"
...Farewell my good friend I hope we would meet again when you will be reborn..."
"Hope to see you again too, friend"
Therefore the hero left and went back to the human's kingdom. The dragon went back to his sleep for hundreds of years inside the demon king castle. Soon in the far away future the dragon will awaken and fulfill the promise he made with the hero.
