Chapter 1: A Timely Rescue.. Anguish
My name is Ashley Ravencroft, and this is my story. Today should have been just like any other day in my life of 17 years, well 18 today. However, things changed when the clock struck midnight tonight and I officially became an 18 year old virgin. Most girls my age lost their virginity in middle school, but not me. Guess I'm too cool for that huh? Anyway, back on to the topic. This is also when THEY arrived. Who are they? I have no idea, but they clearly wanted me because of what happened after they climbed in through my bedroom window.
I was minding own business working on some college prep and listening to music with my earphones in, when suddenly it got ice cold in my room. Looking up in surprise, I was about to scream when one of the cloaked figures covered my mouth and put a knife to my throat. Just barely drawing blood, I gulped before going limp. It's all over. Either this is a kidnapping, or I'm about to be losing my virginity in the worst way.
One of the figures spoke. "Septimus 9. We have our orders, we are to bring the girl to HQ for interrogation and extraction of the artifact." Listening to the man's words I was confused. Artifact? What artifact? And what does he mean by extraction? As in from my body?! Oh my God, I'm being held captive by psychopaths! Beginning to squirm again, I was struck up the side of my head before I heard a welcome voice before my door opened. "Ashley, it's time for.. oh God they've already found us?! Ashley call out the words ACTIVATE GEMBRAND! Do it now!" Not knowing what was going on, or why my dad knew who these people were didn't matter to me because of one simple fact: I trust my dad with my life. Taking in a deep breath, I called out in a loud voice, "Activate Gembrand!".
Suddenly a gemstone of pure crystal clear color with golden light particles bouncing around inside of it appeared on the back of my right hand. Once it appeared, tears went down my face because of what I was hearing.

Screaming in anguish, I called out to my precious dad as my sight dimmed before going completely dark.
