Chapter 3: Chapter Three: Evelyn
Day 27 Month 10 Year 1302 of the Exalted Era
Today was a pretty normal day for the palace maid Evelyn, after waking up she immediately went to Marquee Adal's room to wake him up the way he like to be woken up. She had been working at the palace since she was 12 but it wasn't until she turned 15 that she got promoted to serving the big figures of the court.
It must've been around that time that the officials started groping her and asking her for unusual tasks. She didn't remember exactly how many years ago it was that it started, since she had gotten used to it by now. Normally after waking up Nyoka, as he asked her to call him last night, she would go help out in the kitchen. But today her help was requested, which pretty much meant ordered, at the royal council room. After serving everyone their drinks she had stood idly by the back of the room.
She found the proceedings to be weird, but she didn't fail to notice Nyoka going against the queen at every available turn. After everything was done they had decided to wait until a year passed for Feng Yi to summon him again, that would only be until sundown for them.
Evelyn started to get ready to serve dinner when she saw a royal death guard getting close to her. She tried to avoid him subconsciously, but the guard was going towards her. Just as she was about to say hi the guard grabbed both of her arms and tied them together, he then threw her on the ground and bound her legs together. It seemed that the guard was familiar with what he had to do with the servants who heard something they shouldn't have.
Evelyn screamed her heart out as she was dragged away by the guard. Unfortunately she wouldn't even manage to alert anyone, as all the palaces rooms and halls where sound proofed with magic, just for an occasion such as this one.
