Chapter 177: Her Decision: Experiencing Romance (1)
"I am sorry dear. I would just go on and check on him." Mary said to Emmett as she stood up and went to her room.
"I don't know why he did something like that. I am sorry for his behaviour." Jennifer put her hand on his fisted one.
His taught muscles slowly relaxed, as his fisted palm opened and he took her hand in his.
He was surprised that she had taken the initiative to touch him; nevertheless, he was happy to know that she cared for him.
"You don't have to say sorry. This isn't your fault. I agree that I was quite angry with what your dad said, but when I thought it through, I can understand why he did that. You are his only daughter, he is just sceptical about letting you date someone with whom he isn't familiar. It will take time for him to agree. We will have to wait till that time." He didn't know whom he was trying to convince between the two.
He knows the reason her dad didn't accept him as a potential partner for her wasn't what he told her, there was something more to it.
Now when he had cooled down, he remembered how Damien looked at him, a bit disappointed when he didn't give him any reaction at him mentioning his friend's son who was going to visit them tomorrow morning.
Why did he look disappointed and sad?
Was he expecting some kind of reaction from him?
Like anger?
He would have to wait and look into the matter to know why Damien said those things.
Now his first priority was to make Jennifer forget about the things that had happened just now and take her somewhere out to lighten up her mood, his too in the process.
The second priority would be to, not letting the fly who would be coming tomorrow have a chance with her.
He would make sure to show the man whom she belonged to.
Meanwhile, Jennifer was thinking about what he had just said.
She knew her father very well. Why would he be suddenly so rude?
He had never talked, less insult someone whom he just had come to know about.
What made him this hyper? She didn't know.
When she was small and talked about her various crushes, he had never acted like that. Though this was a different case, but she had hoped he would understand and at least give Emmett his permission to court her.
'I will talk with him at night and make sure that he apologises to Emmett for his hurtful words.'
"Should we go out for a walk?" Surprisingly it was Jennifer who suggested going out first.
"Hmm. That will do."

"Why did you say that Damien? Did you really have to insult him like that?!! I don't understand what was the need to say all those hurtful things?!! That poor boy had just politely asked you for your consent and what did you do? You just insulted him on his face. Like seriously!! You could have talked with me before if you didn't like him for Jenny. But I don't think why you will dislike him? I mean I see no shortcomings in him for you to not like him. Also, our dear daughter likes him, no I think it's love already then what's your problem?" Mary took deep breaths to calm down after her outburst.
Getting no response from him, she started to lecture him again, this time more angrily, "You! Why are you so quiet? Do you regret it now? Answer me!! Damn, say something, Damien!! Why did you not tell me that you didn't like him when they were both upstairs. Or you could have asked me to talk with you after our dinner. But you didn't! You had to say those words to him and now what's with your friend's son huh? Despite knowing that they both are dating, you still asked Jenny to doll herself up for your friend's son whom we both don't know and that too in front of Emmett!! Just what has gotten into you? Just answer me, idiot. Don't keep your mouth shut. Or just go down and apologise to him."
She tried to forcefully pull him towards the living room. But Damien stood firmly in his place.
"I don't regret what I did and I will not apologise to him, never. Also, I will never give them my consent. It's either that man or me. I will ask my daughter to choose between one of us tonight." Mary looked at him in shock.
"Have you gone mad? What rubbish are you saying? What choosing between one from you both. For God's sake, stop with this Damien. At least tell me what the problem is?" This time Mary literally begged him.
"I don't want to talk about this. It would be better if you leave me alone for some time."
Angered by his nonchalant behaviour, Mary shouted, "Fine if this is what you want. Now if you dare step in this room tonight, then forget about seeing me in the morning too!! Think about what you did wrong. I hope there would be someone to put some sense in your head." Saying that she went out of the room, not before closing the door, making a loud 'Thud'.
Damien watched as the door was slammed shut with sadness in his eyes.
"Only if it was this simple. Only if our daughter was an ordinary girl...." He sighed and looked sadly outside the window, watching his daughter getting into the car with Emmett.

[ Emmett vs Damien- Part 2 (Time: Ancient Era)
- The confused, great mighty author looked at the princess who had the speaking trumpet in her hand. She was next stunned when the beautiful princess shouted in the speaking trumpet, 'STOP '.
- Her voice rang in the open Coliseum making the two mighty warriors stop in their track. They turned to look at her simultaneously, both had worry written on their face. Both look surprised when they saw her running towards them.
Princess: Don't fight, please. I don't want any of you getting hurt in the process. Can't we just sit and talk peacefully? Maybe we will come up with a solution?
- The girl pleaded, with unshed tears in her eyes as soon as she reached near them.
Damien: My dearest daughter, you know that this is a ritual that is being practised by our ancestors. We can't break these rules. Also, how will I come to know if this man is worthy enough to protect you? What if he is a weakling and couldn't protect you when the time comes? I surely can't lose you. Also, till now no one could defeat me, so if this lad defeats me today, I will happily get you two married right away.
- Meanwhile, the author who was sitting on the chair getting bored: Come on old man, stop with those sweet sugary words. I am getting bored here. Be quick and end this match so I can go home and sleep.
- Princess Jennifer's tears started to flow the moment she understood that her intervention wouldn't change her father's mind. She sadly turned to her lover. She knew that her father was never defeated in a battle before, but she also had seen Emmett fighting. They were both tough opponents, and would never relent till they would make their competitors unable to move on their own.
- Emmett hugged her and whispered in her ear: Don't worry darling, I will win this fight for us. Also, I will not kill your father. I will just make him accept defeat through other means.
- Damien scowled on seeing his daughter hugging the treacherous man who had won her heart. He swore in his mind that he would teach that bastard a lesson for trying to steal his daughter from him.
- Finally after a lot of persuasion from both sides, Jennifer agreed reluctantly. With a heavy heart, she went back to her seat.
Author: Oh God!! Finally, this drama ended. Now I can go back to my home after the match. I am hungry too. I suddenly want to eat chocolates, pork, poultry, beef, fish, Bisque, Croque monsieur, Pot-au-feu, Blanquette de veau, Crêpe, Crème brûlée, Foie gras and much more. Yum...
- The great mighty author took the speaking trumpet dropped on the ground by the princess and announced the continuation of the fight.
- Both the men took their final attack stance and.....

A/N: By the way, I am vegetarian so I have little to no idea about the non-veg dishes. So please do forgive me if I mentioned some types of food which are not to your liking. I just found some random dishes on the internet and mentioned them in the above drama.
I will be thankful if you could suggest some French cuisines or any other cuisines, veg or non-veg which are tasty. I will use them for future reference. Also, with this, I can improve my general knowledge *wink*.
