Chapter 4: The Fall
"So that's that huh"
Closing the diary as well as my eyes I contemplate my options. If I sale that relic I'll be so rich that I will probably never have to go through this again!
I will never have to work, I could buy all the highest potion I want, eat the best food the world has to offer and even buy my own brothel!
"Hahaha today it's my lucky day!"
Checking the small case that was in Tomas robes I begin to open it. The case is made of odd dark wood and it's surface it's odd too but there's no way to explain it. With no drawings or marks one might not think off it as something special. As I slowly open it my mind is full of expectations, hope and dreams only to find that nothing lies inside...
"Why!?" I cry out. Then I rememberer that Tomas was clearly invisible so he must've have it on him but I clearly check his body
"Did miss it?" I question myself.
I stand and head towards the naked Tomas checking his body one more time.
Finding nothing I roll his body to the side and check the pool of blood only to come out emty handed.
"I refuse to give up!"
"It has to be here!"
"I know it has!"
As I continue my search I feel my sense of balance shifting
and my body moving from side to side
"What the Hell!?"
"It's not me that it's moving but the cave!?" I suddenly come to a realization that makes my body cold.
"It's a damned earthquake! shit!" as I curse I try to head towards the corridor knowing full well that if I stay any longer in the cave it might come down on me and kill me.
Taking a step at a time not wanting to fall I head towards the corridor that's only 7 steps away from me. The earthquake intensifies even more .
1step,
2 step,
3 step,
4 step,
5 ste..5step?
I feel no ground beneath my feet. Then I feel as my body loses all touch with the ground beneath me and I begin to fall. I quickly try to grab the nearest wall but my hand slips because the wall has no edges. Using my all reliable dagger I stab towards the wall with the intention to pierce and hold on.
STUB!
My all realieable dagger fails me and doesn't help me stick to the wall. Not losing my calm I try again. I only need to hold onto something and lose some monumentum.
STUB!
But it fails again I continue to get monumentum as I continue to fall. Looking beneath me I only see darkness with no ground in reach. As I get ready to try sticking to the wall I see it pulling away.
"No! Wall come back here!" I shout
Knowing that the hole I fell into it's turning wider as it decends my options run out. I check my small bag but there's nothing that can be of use right now.I only have some dried meat, a bit of water,a healing potion and a few knifes.
There's no wall near me anymore and I don't even have a rope.
"Am I Going to Die like this!?" I yell out loud.
I feel that seconds have turn into minutes and minutes to hour as I fall into this bamn abyss. I know it's only the adrenaline in my body that is making my thoughts run faster. As I continue to fall memories and flashbacks pop up in my mind going through my head as the monumentum of my fall keeps adding up.
(Is this what fate has decided to do to me for my wrongs!?)
(Aren't Gods suppose to be mercy full?!)
(Is the reason I'm so out off luck related to my karma!?)
I never wanted to end up like this. Everyone wants to have a life to look back at and be proud off it even me. But life just isn't that easy it's full of traps so full that even when asleep you might step on one.
Now that I think of it someone told me something about life itself,
who was it again??...Forget it I'll die anyhow.
As I look down all I see is darkness I know that death will make me worry free so for the first time in my life I let my mind free. Thought after thought pop up in my mind things I will normally push away but there's no longer a reason to hold into the little sanity I have left...
The darkness starts taking shape and start to hear voices that cry, beg and shout. I known it's my mind playing tricks so I ignore it all.
Then I see something
at a distance not so far away
I see what I believe is death itself
calling out to me
extending it's hand towards me
coming closer and closer
and faster and faster
And then...
SPLASH!
...I hit the floor.
