Chapter 3: 3

I propped on the bed, tucking my hands under my chin. "So..." I drawled, wriggling my brows for effect. "You and Graig huh?"

Bims looked at me and failed at keeping a straight face as a smile split her face in half. Miriam turned her attention to us. "Yeah" She said and I smirked, she was next. Did she think that I hadn't noticed anything between Dave and her.

"Guys, guys. It's nothing. Don't let's blow this." Bims said as she tried to be composed.

"Don't give me that." Mir said and I nodded.

"Seriously guys, I don't know anything yet. And I don't want to get my hopes up." I agreed with her.

"So what did you guys talk about? Don't think I didn't see you."

She couldn't keep the smile off her face. "We just talked about stuff. Department, level, where I stay and blah blah blah."

"Blah blah blah. Hmm" Mir teased.

"Where you stay? Why? Don't tell me you told him." I panicked. If Graig knew, then his friends would know.

"I did. Sorry." She bit her lip.

"Did he collect your number?" Mir asked.

"Yes. But he hasn't called, or texted."

"Oh, why? Maybe he has been busy." I tried to cheer her up. But I was mad, why would you not at least call, it's been over a week now. I wonder how she must be feeling.

"Or he just didn't–" I cut her off, knowing Mir, she just wanted to say another blunt statement which would hurt.

"Now woman, over to you. Don't pretend like I didn't see sparks flying between you and Dave" Mir looked at me like I just suddenly sprouted two heads.

"Did you hit your head or something?" She gave me a savage look. "Because it seems like your brain has shifted."

"I totally saw it too." Bims announced, I know she didn't see a thing. She was just trying to get on Miriam's nerves.

"You're both nuts." She looked around the room and the kitchen and when we asked her what she was looking for, she posed, her arms akimbo. "I'm looking for the drink you drank or the weed you smoked before I came that is making the both of you say nonsense now."

We laughed, she joined in too, Bims' laughter was contagious. Miriam lived on campus while me and Bims stayed off campus but Mir was at our place most of the time. She was practically living here but she hadn't been here this week, hence why I was just bringing up the topic before the both of them.

"Did he collect your number too?"

"Does he want to die? What does he need it for? I wouldn't even give it to him if he asked."

"I think he likes you though." If Mir shot me now, I wouldn't blame her, I was pushing too hard.

"I'm leaving." Bims and I burst into fits of laughter as we persuaded her to stay, she probably wouldn't leave if we didn't beg her.

"Seriously Nor, I'd rather chew jeans than feel anything that's not hatred for that guy. He's so cocky, arrogant, flirty, annoying, annoyingly annoying...I can't even deal." Mir ranted.

"Omg, calm down. I know right?"

"Fuck!"

"Damb!"

"What the hell!"

"Fuck!" I pressed myself further against the wall of the academic building, willing the rain to fall. "Stupid rain." I became heavier and I sighed, I was done for. "Sorry, you're not stupid rain. But please stop. Please."

"Asshole." I muttered as the rain increased again. I wiped my hand down my face and resisted the urge to bring out my phone and text Jacob. My phone isn't water resistant and I can't risk it's life by bringing it out from my pocket. It was in enough danger as it is because the rain would soon drench me.

Jacob was the drama cord at church and as it is, I'd already missed two drama rehearsals and this was the last rehearsal for this week which I'd promised I wouldn't miss but it was looking like I would if this stupid rain doesn't stop this minute!

I watched with longing as cars sped by in the rain, no one even bothered to stop to help the princess in distress. A car sped by, almost splashing me with water and I cursed at it. I was wiping water off my face when the car reversed and parked in my front.

Looks like the driver want to receive my cursing first hand, well that was great. The passenger side window rolled down and I squinted at the driver. I wasn't surprised when I saw who it was, it was only a lunatic that would drive like that.

"Hop in." He motioned for me to get in but I just crossed my arms and looked away. He was going to have to carry me to get me to step my feet in his car. "Come on Nora, I'm doing you a favour here, unless you want to get wet."

"Well I'm wet already."

He smirked and I knew that what was going to come out of his mouth next would be a disaster. "I know I have that effect on girls but we'd have to be somewhere private."

"I hate you Nathan."

"Feeling's mutual babe. Now come on in."

"I'm not stepping into your car."

"Yes you are."

"Make me." I challenged.

"For the love of God woman, the rain is getting heavier!" He snapped.

"And why do you care ?"

He pinched the bridge of his nose and honked hard that I had to block my ears. "You're insufferable do you know?"

"And I'll get more annoying if you don't get in the car right now."

I rolled my eyes, I could still make it to rehearsal if I left now, I'd be late but it's better to be late than being the late. Yeah, yeah. Nora with the flows. I got into the car and I watched as he cringed when water splattered onto the floor.

"You're welcome." He said as he began to drive away.

"I never said thank you."

He stepped on the gas and I gasped, shooting him an icy look. "Stop driving like you have nine lives will you? Don't get me killed please."

Nate chuckled and I gave him a side glare which later turned into a side smile. "I'll try not to." He replied and slowed down a bit. This made me surprised, I didn't peg him for someone who would listen just once.

"Thanks." I offered him a small smile.

"Where are you going to?" I was about to answer when my phone dinged, it was a message from Jacob in the group chat.

Jacob@therevealers💯

Jacob: the rehearsal has been canceled due to natural factors which could not be avoided. a new time for the meeting would be scheduled later tonight. signed: drama cord. jacob o.

A few people showed their excitement but I just locked my phone and sighed. "Hello, I asked a question."

My eyes widened, that means I'd have to tell him where I live. Fuck my life! I could just get down halfway home and ju–"How often do you think aloud? Just tell me where you live." Nate's voice cut through my thoughts and I flipped him off.
