Chapter 4: Guiding
Shaking Tsubaki's hand is indicating that she acknowledge the woman in front of her, it also serve as forming a relationship with someone that's stranger for her earlier and maybe turned to be a new friend, because Alicia herself will join Hephaestus familia starting today… if only the one who responsible for managing it is present today and not tomorrow nor the day after tomorrow.
Alicia herself not really care about it since joining familia is only formality for her to become full-fledge adventurer in this city that's the only one who has dungeon that can made adventurer growth quickly than most of outsider from Orario.
Became adventurer outside Orario is same like suicide. Since they usually won't be able to receive falna from gods who usually live in Orario, although there's a few of gods who aren't in Orario when they descend for the first time. There's a case like that.
The perfect example is Takemikazuchi familia. They still in the outside of Orario and won't move, the reason is still unclear why they didn't do that, as they are from the Far East, they still live in a shrine that being managed by the orphans and Takemikazuchi himself, also by Tsukuyomi which is the person who actually owned the shrine.
Or precisely a god. Tsukuyomi is god like Takemikazuchi, but differents from Takemikazuchi although there's no news about if Tsukuyomi already formed a familiar or not but most likely anyone from Far East knew that these two gods signed an alliance together for their own safety.
Although it's important to know about Tsukuyomi familia, it will be a story for another time.
Most important thing right is that many adventurer seeks help and support from any familia that exist within Orario. Hermes familia members are so many and can be considered a familia with the largest member… second largest compared to Loki familia; while Hermes has 19 included himself, Loki has 30 if it including herself.
Although there's a nation-type familia known as Kali familia which is full of Amazoness. It look like Kali Familia leader, Kali herself, doesn't show any like if her own familia members fell in love with anyone outside of her familia. There's a rumor about Kali that she might be a lesbian who prohibit any male in her familia, since there's only Amazoness in her familia rather than different races or mix. That might be explain why it full of Amazoness instead of not like any other familia, it's almost the same case with Freya Familia who the majority of its members is male, while there's also a female in there.
But being in Hephaestus familia has a lots of pros and cons after all. The pros maybe including the smithy or forging matter, like learn more about weapon and equipments, something like that is benefiting for adventurer who rely on weapon a lot; although there's maybe who rely on magic too, but that's a rare case among adventurer since that never happened.
Adventurer often use weapon after all. Even the famous and strongest adventurer like Ottar from Freya familia also use his weapon to defeat or kill his enemies. Wielding a greatsword that might so easy butchering away his opponents with a single swing; overpowering any opponents he would face or encounter.
The cons maybe because it's not that famous familia for women who loves to taking care of theirself. Like women who always taking good care of their appearance, someone who doesn't like sweats that came out from their cheeks while continuously forging in the heat that might burn someone skin if you're not careful enough.
Tsubaki just nod her head and smiled when Alicia shaking her hands.
"Okay then. How about a small tour to the inside of our workshop… or you can call it manor?"
"Ah, yes you can."
"Oh c'mon, don't be so formal, just relax yourself."
Being told like that made Alicia shyly blushed and nodding quickly which made Tsubaki smile in satisfication. She's glad that Alicia understanding as Tsubaki isn't a person who really used to formal thing and trying to be casual yet friendly to someone that she addressing; she even so casual to Hephaestus, although there's a time when she must be in formal manners or it will causing a lot of trouble for her and her familia, especially her god.
"Good! Right, let's go, I'll show you the entire place of this manor and some may be important to you and any members of this familia."
"Okay, I'll look forward to it."
"You bet!"
Being led and guided by Tsubaki who already familiar with the manor of Hephaestus familia. Every single details that might be useful tips for any adventurer or blacksmith who want to join this familia being told to Alicia by Tsubaki herself, also the fact that Hephaestus familia is rich enough to rents the 4th and 8th floors of the Babel tower while owns several branch stores in several locations in Orario.
That new information of course made Alicia shocked and fascinated by it. Although she being said already read the light novel, this is new for her… or maybe it's just that the former demon queen herself are forgetting about some of the contents of DanMachi light novels itself. It's given since there's so many anime, manga, game, and light novels she also enjoy; although Ais is her first waifu and most favorite of all.
"For any members in this familia, they will receive the right of their own workshop. It's a policy of us to give something like that to the members, whether it's new or old members, we weren't discriminating ourselves and it's also to prevent prevent a smith's techniques from being seen by others within the familia; since everyone has their own technique and it's rude to steal or copying it."
"Is that so…? I guess it's something like copyright, huh…"
"Kopiraik…?"
"Ah, nothing, it's nothing important and it's normal thing to do anyway. Stealing is a crime and it will causing any trouble, right?"
"Yep. You're right and we trying to avoid that as much as possible or it will tear apart this familia. Trust is important since we also can be considered a merchant who dealing at selling weapon and equipment. We mainly stocked up for adventurer since this is Orario."
Alicia just nod her head in understood, she agree about what Tsubaki said since it's makes sense and without that kind of element, business would gain no profit and quickly go bankrupt without anyone notice and realize it theirselves. After all, Hephaestus familia is one of trusted blacksmithing in Orario and outside of it, the numbers of employees, stores, and allies is the solid proof of that; there's also saying "If someone want a good weapon or equipment, Hephaestus familia is the answer of that."
Since their quality isn't really questionable and most of the blacksmith really talented and producing good quality of product that sold well. To join it someone must be at least has the talent for blacksmith aka develop a Blacksmith skill as their own, but there's also a fact that they must be interested in the fieldwork of it.
"Then, is it okay to decorate our own workshop with whatever we have?"
But Tsubaki just laugh loudly.
"Of course! Since that's the meaning of 'Personal Workshop'. Your workshop your responsibility, there's no need to ask a permission to decorating or adding anything that involving your own workplace, all of it is up to you and you're the one who decide it. Ah, but if you want to open up your own shops, then you must at least ask Hephaestus-sama first before establish it."
This made Alicia blinked in surprise.
"Why? What's the reason?"
"To make sure you won't tarnish this familia name when what you would sell has bad quality. We pretty proud of our weapon and equipment quality, you know. If you open up a shop under Hephaestus-sama, it will be a problem if that's happen."
Alicia nodded understanding when hearing that.
"I don't think to open up my own shop for a moment, since my main work is adventurer and exploring the inside of dungeon; maybe also the depth in it. Because I'm pretty interested and curious about the whole thing inside dungeon. You could says that I'm enjoying to research about it."
"Really? That's pretty weird, hahaha! But nevertheless, I won't force you to focus on blacksmithing only. Welf, that kid who's from Crozzo's family, is the example of that. He is adventurer and has a knit in smithing, especially in creating magic sword… since it's his family unique skill."
"Is it okay to reveals such thing to me, Tsubaki-san?"
"It's okay, it's okay since you're decided to join this familia, so at least I reveals that and it's not like that was secret anyway. Alright, let's continue our tour!"
"O-Okay…"
Sweatdropping because of the weird feeling and aura from Tsubaki's behavior, Alicia just agreeing to what the woman said and do, thus they continuing their tour to the entire manor of Hephaestus familia to make their new soon-to-be members and blacksmith get used to the environment. It is best to make someone to see it theirself rather than just being told, because there's also some people who tend to get lost and ended up not knowing about the place they supposed to live be.
It would be embarrassing if that's truly happen to Alicia herself.

Lefiya Viridis was an honor student at the school she goes and taught, she can be considered smart and strong for people in her age since she levelling up after three years at the age of eleven. Although it's still slow compared to the mighty and beautiful Sword Princess aka Ais Wallenstein who level up only in a year; that's why people in Orario amazed and awe at that quick progress made by the Sword Princess.
It has been several weeks since Lefiya joined the Loki familia and she really admiring the figure of Ais, that Sword Princess became her inspiration and goals at the moment she being accepted by god known as Loki in her familia.
It's not wrong to be source of people admiration and inspiration since Ais Wallenstein is an important figure within Orario and DanMachi world itself. That golden-haired girl also surrounded by many mystery and people won't questioned it because that's doesn't matter, after all there's many person who also has their own secret.
Also it's commonly known that Ais Wallenstein often being proposed and rejecting many man who came to her. Hearing that made Lefiya mad and full of jealously, since she find it's annoying and unforgivable to bothering her idol figure like that. But that admiration is already at the level of obsession, it's scary if people knew that truth.
But right now, the soon-to-be Thousand Elf feels happy. Because she can walked around with Ais, her idol and aspiration. There's a hint of obviousness that flashed onto her face, a big and widely smile, she seems really happy although it's not like they're holding hands; just walk side by side.
"A-Ais-san, what we will do today?"
"I'm trying to find a new armor and maybe some good new sword."
"But is it okay to going with me? I don't quite know about armor and sword since I'm always using magic."
"Mn. You're good at choosing and sometimes I'm bad at it, so you're no bother."
Lefiya beamed with smile when heard that, she's happy that Ais does not think of her like that and can accompany her idol to do some weapon and equipment shopping. It is quite rare for Ais to invite someone to accompany her to doing things like this. She mostly doing anything alone and focus on her main goals, which is become stronger to get her revenge.
It's quite classic and cliché, but that's what she want over the years when she became orphan. When she join Loki familia, that's her only purpose to made her become like this. Maybe that's also the reason why she can level up fast and only took her a year to achieve that.
When both of them strolling the streets, Ais eyes accidentally caught something. A girl who seems older than her, but that's just a rough guess and she accompanied by Tsubaki Collbrand, one of the members of Hephaestus familia that she known when Ais being closer to Hephaestus manor. But that just a quick glance, she keep walking pass through the girl, because Ais herself doesn't seems interested and her only task right now is to replace her current weapon and armor to the new one.

The Guild or simply refer as guild is a place that help any adventurer inside Orario. It's not wrong that only Orario who only has guild system such as this since it's the right place for adventurer to explore the dungeon to earn money and level up theirselves. There's many people who work as the staff of the guild and became the advisor or many adventurer, although there's no exact numbers of how many staffs they had.
If it based on the rough guess, it's between 10,000 and 50,000. Of course it's not accurate since that just the rough numbers of the citizen of Orario. Majority of it is non-adventurer or someone who aren't joining any familia and honing their skills to reach the apex. All of they do just living like normal person do, without worried about sometimes would die from exploration when diving into the dungeon.
It's not easy and fun to become adventurer, that's just a shortcut for earns more money, accompanied by the risk of death; which is very high because it's often happened to adventurer. People or adventurer who went into dungeon must at least have one Basic Ability and its rank is D. If it lower than that, they won't be guaranted to survive and alive in dungeon.
"Yes! Next please…!"
Eina Tulle, one of the soon-to-be advisor of Alicia, she currently busy with her work. Although she seems smile a lot and doing fine, there's lingering a tired feeling inside her and bored. Doing this everyday isn't that fun, moreover she always given many jobs or many troublesome adventurers who always makes her work harder.
She has good reputation among her colleagues and work, she always work hard and try her best to make everyone around her happy when working. She also diligent and smart-type person, let's not forget about how sharp she is when observing people and genuine care to anyone closer to her; like friend and family.
There's also a rumor that she's scary to many adventurers because she always give them a private lesson to ensure the safety of the adventurers that under her care; giving them some basic knowledge about dungeon and anything related to that. Although due her beauty, people do not scared too much when hear her name or anything.
She's kind enough and the big sister-type who you can rely. Anyone would happy to have her as girlfriend.
A few hours later, the lunchbreak come and any staffs who already work from morning until noon then goes inside to take a break, while the substitute already fill the counter to continue the work of them who work from morning.
Eina currently have lunch with her friend, Misha who always likes to complaining about her job but she does it whether she done it correctly or not. She always known to complain a lot, not only about her job, almost everything but she always teasing her best friend Eina, who from her point of view seems interesting enough to be teased.
"That's a lot of work… it's almost like we wouldn't never finish any of it in one go!"
Eina just laugh wryly when heard the usual complain from her friend. At first she always talking back to give her an advice or anything, but now Eina just letting her complain and don't bother herself with that anymore and instead just listening to it.
There's no end to Misha never ending complain after all, she already knew that from her own experience.
"But seriously, I think today is the most busy hour I ever feels. How do you think, Eina?"
Being asked like that, Eina then answer it while tilt her head.
"Hm… I don't know. I'm too busy focusing myself to help them. Sorry Misha."
"Really…? Meh, can't help it then. But really… that girl called Alicia, she seems new to Orario. Although what she said is weird to trying become adventurer without joining any familia. Isn't that weird, Eina?"
Misha said that while pointing her spoon to Eina with confused face.
"I think… yeah. It's a bit weird but maybe she just clueless like many new adventurers."
"But at least the adventurer who first time came in Orario knew about that, you know."
Eina just waved her hands to Misha.
"Well-well, don't think about it. It's rude to point your finger and being too curious is no good. Anyone also have many secrets."
"If you put it that way… well, okay then. But seriously, I want to lazing around and have fun! Too many work would kill me!"
Small laugh escaping Eina mouth when heard her friend complain again, but what happened today with Alicia really made her curious.
'But why would she ask that kind of question…?'
Questioning that without any proper and valid answer would be no good. She can't just thought and conclude it based on her rough guess after all.
Her job as advisor and staff of guild is prevent her to give any false information or creating hoax.
Giving any adventurer a basic knowledge about what kind of place dungeon is the job of guild staff and their own advisor. If they haven't give it to any adventurers, then it would give the results of death. It's no uncommon to see the death of adventurer and there's also exist the graveyard for many death adventurers.
The job of advisor and guild staff is tough, after all. It's not fun and easy as people said. Although the pay is good, they have to make sure no adventurer death within their guidance.
