Chapter 82: Miss Her...

Jun Ji froze for a moment. Could it be? Is Bianca really pregnant? And If she is, how likely could it be that he is the father? They do had a sexual relationship but it could be someone else's child too, right? It better be. Because if it's his, then he would be owing Bianca so much more...

"Did Laura mention who the father is? Would the person be marrying her? With how things are going, I don't think I can attend her wedding." Jun Ji commented.

Liam looked at Jun's face with amusement and wonder. Could it be that Jun Ji really thinks that way? But why? He seemed to see things in a different way. "Jun Ji... can I ask you a question?.... Why do you drive Bianca away when you clearly care about her?"

Liam knew it's very likely that Jun won't answer his questions, but Liam just couldn't help but speak his mind. Such a strange person, he very seldom meet people like him.

"Bianca.... I met her when I was searching for someone. I thought it was her and so I helped her...." Jun stated. Liam looked at the man's expressionless face. His blank eyes registered no emotion. "From the moment I saved her from a group of men and shielded her from them when they were hunting her, she decided to stay with me. It's to... repay me she said. She'll spend the rest of her life trying to repay me, but that's not what I want. I want her to be free and live her life to the fullest." Jun Ji added.

Liam raised his brows. He's saying Bianca was obsessed with repaying his kindness? Did he not consider at all that she might be in love with him? "Does it bother you a lot? The thing that he clings to you so much?" Liam then asked.

Jun Ji was silent for moment before slowly shaking his head. "At first, I treated Bianca like a sister. I was willing to help her as a friend but....." But he's a monster. Those words dissolved inside his throat. He could not continue voicing his thoughts. Isn't it shameful? He just couldn't keep his hands off a sworn sister. How despicable. Everything he gets his hands into gets destroyed. He saved Bianca from the hands of those men, but he took advantage of her himself.

Liam watched his patient fall into silence. He said he only treats Bianca as a sister.... It's hopeless then.

Liam sighed. "Poor Bianca will be raising a child on her own I suppose." he whisphered under his breath as he turned around to leave. It wasn't sure if he said that to give Jun Ji a hint, but he faintly heard it. He narrowed his empty eyes as he wondered what he meant. Was it that the father of her child abandoned her? That woman.....

"Grandpa..."

Ji Chen turned his head to see where the voice came from and saw Charmaine standing on the doorway. Beside her stands a small boy. "Why aren't you resting on your bed? The wind is cold outside!"

Charmaine picked up a blanket from the old man's bed and took it to the balcony where the grandpa Ji was sitting. She put the blanket on his lap before pulling a chair for herself. "What are you doing here anyway?" she asked as she sat on the chair. "We came to visit you. I heard you were sick." she paused and then turned to Luke. "Go greet Grandpa."

Luke bowed a bit in front of the old man. "How are you, Grandpa." he said before sitting beside his mom.

The armchair was wide enough for them both mother and child. Ji Chen smiled at Charmaine before turning to the boy beside her. "Where is your dad?" he asked.

Charmaine reached for the old man's wrinkled hands before apologizing for Leo's behalf. "He just left for a business trip. I'm very sorry he couldn't come. It's just that there's a very important matter that he has to attend to..."

Grandpa Ji shook his head. "He's my grandson. I'm the person who knows him best. You don't have explain. Having you here is enough." he stated before gently sqeezing her hand. He looked at Charmaine's face for a long while before smiling a bit. "You really looked like Ming-er." he added before laughing and taking back his hand.

Charmaine raised her brows. Ming-er.... her grandmother? "Really? I don't remember her anymore." she replied. Han Ming-er, her grandma was one of the people she doesn't remember anymore along with the childhood memories that she lost. Her grandma died when she was still a little girl and everything about her first ten years of life was wiped out from her mind so she only knows how the woman looked like from old photos at home. "Do I really look like her?" she added.

Ji Chen shifted his gaze and turned to the cloudy sky. Mid-March but it's still chilly outside. "How can I be mistaken? She's a woman I will never forget." he answered with a bitter smile as stared at the cloudy sky. "Whenever I feel unwell, I watch the sky and wonder when she's going to show up and take me with her. I miss Ming-er."

Charmaine's doe eyes blinked a few times. Was she seeing affection in Ji Chen's eyes? But how could that be? She was told they were best of friends when they were young. Could it be that Ji Chen.....

"Grandpa, could it be that you liked my grandma in secret?" she teased the old man. Ji Chen chuckled when he heared her words.

"Like her in secret? of course not. I'm not as lame as your husband. I courted her properly and expressed my sincere feelings for her." Ji Chen stated.

Charmaine giggled. So he really had a thing for her grandmother? She was about to say something when a maid entered the room carrying desserts. She encouraged Luke to eat his parfait first and asked the maid to accompany the little boy inside the room. When they were finally alone in the balcony, Charmaine blurted out the question.

"So..... Why did my grandma dump you?" she joked.

Ji Chen raised his brows. Dumped him? What a cruel way to put it...
