Chapter 3: Encounter Part 2
(Anna)
The air skiff belonging to the Noble Bahie family. Had dropped off a group of five. Three women and two boys. All ranging from the ages sixteen and nineteen years of age. Their leader one of the three women and the youngest amongst them. As she led the group towards a small town. A man dressed in a town guard uniform came out from behind a tree that was part of the lop sided perimeter of the clearing their group had been dropped off in. The group halted. The girl who led them prepared a sphere of wind that when it connected with a target. It would tear them to shreds.
The man raised both hands. "Names John. Lord Bahie sent me here in advance", the man said taking out a piece of folded leather which acted as a sigil case. he flipped it open to reveal a golden lily. The woman gave a nod. Then the man put away his credentials. His uniform from what she could tell was a standard sergeants blue and grey two piece. As for its simple design, as the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Each member of her group wore simple brown demon beast cloaks with hoods. Not just to protect against the elements but to protect their identities. "Is our entry covered", the girl who was a second stage tier two Qi manipulator. Once a cultivator reached the second stage, manipulating the Cultivators element with their Qi became possible. In the second stage there were six tier's. Each tier would allow the cultivator access to certain amounts of Qi. The other members of the group were at the first tier. Making each of them far stronger than even the town's corrupted captain of the guard. Thanks to a certain person who had acquired a large network of informants in the past year. The Bahie family entrusted by the Shu family had enough plausible information to make a substantial amount of arrest's.
Their inside man John gave a nod. "Yes ma'am. She also entrusted me with a personal message. For your eyes only", he said extending an envelope to her.
She opened the envelope and read it carefully. Then a smile appeared, 'Found you'. She thought to herself clutching a hidden crudely hand made pendant.
The group with the aid of their inside man John snuck into the town of White Lily. Since it was a town with white lilies growing wild in and around the town. The name just stuck. Anna, the groups leader glanced off to the North side of town where a baron hill with a tall solitary lush tree stood like a sentinel looking over the entire area. It was situated on the Bahie family land used to get away from the mind numbing affairs that the family would have to deal with. On one of those such occasions she encountered something that not only helped her find the desire to gain strength. But something she couldn't live without. Only to have vanished the day her father agreed would bring her happiness. Since that day, she had spent every waking moment searching and getting stronger so when she finally found what her heart was set on and longed for she would have the strength to keep it.
They had arrived at White Lily just before dawn. Their arranged meet up with their informant was still almost three hours away. Even though it was early, since White Lily was a outer settlement, it had not only army regulars posted for safety. They also had free lance Cultivators that preferred to think of themselves as adventures that only hunted demon beasts for the bottom line. They were often referred to as Lancers, since most refused to be tied down to any arrangement or sect's. If Anna couldn't find what she sought then she too would walk the life of a Lancer.
Thankfully the town was one of the Central hub's of operations for the Lancers. Despite it being early shops were already open to catch the early flow as Lancers made their way from their lodging to the demon beast filled lands of the wild. Anna and her group settled on a cafe near the merchant district. According to the map showing the building of the meet. The second building with three floors that over looked the ally where goods would be dropped off for sale was the arranged meeting place.
"Hey Anna", the girl sitting to her Left said while appearing to be drinking a cup of coffee she had ordered. Despite the hood that covered her hair and facial features. Some things were visible, a loose strand of blonde hair and shimmering blue eyes. Anna raised her cup of coffee to drink and raised a delicately shaped eyebrow. Before the start of the mission she had been surprised to learn that the Bahie's cherished and highly acknowledged prodigy of a daughter was leading the mission. Let alone that she had been making herself look pretty. After receiving the go ahead to continue with her question she asked, "Why are you really here"? Everyone one within the Bahie family knew that the girl sitting just a breath away had been living for the sole purpose of finding her one and only love.
Anna gave a sigh. Since joining the mission, she was well aware of the talk about her behind her back. Since they were just curious she had left the matter alone. But seeing how it wouldn't hurt to talk about it she answered, "After six years the trail had gone completely dead. Until a month ago". She then sat her cup of coffee down. "One of the people here in this town where he originally is from. After six years of traversing all possible places I could think of, got in touch with me... Apparently he never left and the people who were in charge helped hide him all because of a lie"! She told her as the others were close by and were listening.
