Chapter 21: The Forgotten

John began sharing his memories of his meeting with the stranger with Ampol and Doren. Looking for different answers than he was originally fixed on. Trying to get the stranger's name and what the monster within him was. Ampol and Doren couldn't identify the stranger but the monster, they haven't heard of in a long time. "I remember the monster but it's name eludes me." Ampol stated. "I agree, it was a predator of many species. It preyed on demons, angels and the creatures of the forest. On the battlefield, it stood unrivaled. I remember fleeing from a demon city as a low rank demon just because it was near. I never been face to face with these monsters but the tales passed along only brought fear and hopelessness." Doren responded. "Try to remember, I feel that it's important." John pleaded. "I will meditate on my memories. As soon as I remember, you'll be the first to know." Ampol responded. "Seek information about an old demon city called Verdin. It was established before my time but was rumored to be wiped out from these monsters. We were told to use it as an example." Doren proclaimed. "I'll see what I can find out." John responded.

John opened his eyes and then he remembered, Samantha stayed with him. As John opened his eyes, he realized that he was lying in Samantha's lap. Her eyes were closed as well and all John could do was stare at her beauty. Completely paralyzed by the mesmerizing view, John laid there for what felt like eternity. Completely content, he forgot all his worries and questions. This moment was the only moment playing in John's mind right now, nothing else mattered right now. Unfortunately the moment ended too quickly for John's liking. Samantha lifted her head and opened her eyes, looked around as if she forgot where she was. Suddenly she remembered and looked down at John's face. She didn't expect this sight. Upon her lap, John's head was rested looking back at her. His face looked like he was in emotional bliss, eyes lit up with content and happiness. This was the most peaceful John has ever looked. Not wanting to disturb him looking this peaceful, she sat there and just watched him. She noticed that John was letting out his holiness. His hair was slowly turning whitish- silver. She could feel his power growing, gently she could feel how powerful he was. Not just his power but how gentle he was, the power wasn't intimidating but soft and embracing. She didn't want this moment to end either.

John got lost in the moment, he could feel Samantha's power and even though his was greater, her power was dense. John could only see her power as a star, small in size but bright. John regretted his decision but knew he had to get up. He delayed his training long enough and had to find information. As he began sitting up, he felt Samantha move too. Quickly glancing over at her, she straightened out her legs. "How long was I asleep?" John asked. "It was a full day." Samantha responded. "I have to push off the meetings for now." John blurted. "Is something wrong?" Samantha questioned worryingly. "I don't know, but I have to find out." John responded. "You're welcome to come along with me." John followed up with. "Think I won't be a burden?" Samantha asked smugly. "You have never been one." John responded. "Want to let me know what's going on?" Samantha questioned. "I'm seeking a piece of history about a creature. Doren told me to seek an old demon city called Verdin. I'm pretty sure it has been abandoned, but it may hold information that's essential." John explained. Samantha became lost in thought quick. "I've looked into the angel's archives while adapting to my new powers and I've only read of one demon city. Anything demon related was restricted except the town Verdin. They plastered this city in multiple books. Not because they overtook it and it was an accomplishment but because it served as a warning to the angels." "Warning about what?" John interrupted. "It was a creature that scared both demons and angels. I'll go get a book and meet you here as soon as I can." Samantha stated, then turned around and left.

It was days after she left and John was beginning she left him for good. While waiting John continued strengthening his body and mind. Pulling himself even closer to his soul sharing partners. John opened his eyes from meditating and there she sat, patiently waiting for him. "Did you have a hard time finding the book?" John asked. "Not particularly, however getting the book out of heaven was a challenge." Samantha responded. "I want to hear about this challenge but first, I have to know of this creature." John stated. Grabbing the book, John sat down and began reading. Samantha sat and watched John read, she glanced around the room. THUMP! she heard and she looked at saw John dropped the book and he looked pale and shocked. "What is it, John?" She asked. "Leviathans." John muttered.
