Chapter 6: A deep sleep
I've arrived back home and I'm getting ready to digest this stone. I don't actually know what will happen once I do eat this stone but I can only assume it will take me into the next stage of growth for myself.
In preparation for this I'll spend the next few days digging out a larger area under the tree that would allow me to have an enlarged body sleep comfortably in. Let's get to work then.
The following days just consisted of digging, moulding and removing unused material. There wasn't much to do other than this. I didn't even need to go out and hunt as that Rex should sustain this body of mine for easily a week.
This is how the days followed until it had finally been completed. The room that I had been digging out could easily fit a large passenger plane and should be fine for me for a while. There wasn't a need for support pillars either as the tree roots work perfectly fine for it.
Now it's finally time for me to digest the stone and see what happens. I decided to get into a comfortable laying down position before I eat it.
Laying down I threw the stone into my mouth and already the energy from it spread throughout my body. It was a warm and ticklish feeling but comfortable and relaxing nonetheless.
Once I swallowed the stone I became strangely tired. Almost like I had taken a sleeping tablet and suddenly became drowsy.
I tried to fight the sleep of but I couldn't and slowly lost myself to the darkness.

Over the period of time Anna slept for many things changed.
The forest in which Anna lived in slowly became more tense as a new strong alpha creature had began living in there. Many of the weaker animals fled the forest and attacked the villages near by for food and shelter.
The nations that surrounded this forest sent teams in to investigate why but could never find anything. After a few years of searching they had to give up.
During this time the eleven nation, Eldran which was named after the first king Eldar Erfaren, had their 5th princess be born. The princess name is Tia Erfaren.
Because this child had high amounts of mana many nations had tried to arrange marriages or even kidnap the child. This led to an escalation in tension between many nations and a war may break out soon.
Many of the nations had been mobilising the armies and had even resulted to a new method of war called trench warfare. Along the borders of many countries trenches and bunkers made from earth magic can be seen.
The races of human, elf, dwarf, orc, beast kin, giants and the draconic tribes have all been preparing for a war between the races. The world became a heavily discriminated world where many places didn't accept the other races as anything but enemies.
As the years went on mass conscription came into affect as many countries readied for war. Millions of men and women of all races were conscripted and forced into military training.
This world didn't discriminate between gender but by race. Because of this both men and women were forced into military service. If war was to break out the casualties could reach into the millions which for this world was a huge number.
As a result of this many children became orphans because their parents couldn't take care of them anymore. This later led to many resentful people and in some places coup d'etat.
The world became tense and a dark era to live in. The world became dark and when it came to the last couple of months before Anna would awaken war began.
First it was the humans who declared war on the elves. Then the dwarfs declared war on the humans followed shortly by the orcs who declared war on both dwarfs and humans. The beast kin had signed an alliance between the elves and dwarfs although neither side liked each other.
The elves, dwarfs and beast kin declared was on all their enemies and now it was a Great War between the three races against the humans and orcs. The draconic races stayed out of the conflict but for how long is unknown.
The war has raged on for months with both sides suffering huge loses. In the beginning of the war neither side took the initiative to attack with their troops but instead fired long distance magic spells via magical artillery weapons.
As a result the landscape changed and a deadly no mans land was established. The area became unstable and due to the huge mana influx in the area led to huge creatures coming to investigate. This led to the third enemy of the armies.
These enemies were all lethal in their own way. The weather, monsters and the other armies.
Much like from Anna's previous world during the era of world war 1 the weather was a huge enemy for the two sides. The weather can create muddy landscapes, cold weather and bring illness.
The monsters can cause quite the problems too. If the armies aren't careful they could be attacked especially in the night by these monsters. These monsters can destroy whole squads of soldiers or high ranked adventurers.
There are some monsters that aren't strong on their own but they make up for it in numbers. In places where there are wars monsters like goblins are attracted to the thought process of 'free food'. Their brains aren't capable of understanding the great amount of danger they're in so they tend to recklessly attack. This leads to both armies needing constant surveillance in the event that monsters attack them giving the opposing army the opportunity to attack them whilst there weakened.
The final enemy and the most obvious is of course the opposing army. With magical guns that fire magic bullets without the need for gunpowder the lethality of warfare had increased by times. Fortunately due to magical guns only recently being developed from the last few years many adventurers don't posses guns. Only the armies under the direct authority of the royal families have access to a wide range of this type of weaponry however this war may change this fact.
But with new ideas being made things like the magical sniper rifle and magical mg turrets make the battlefield all the more dangerous. Thankfully there hasn't been anything like the plane or tank created yet however given the circumstances of needing new ideas to topple the enemy that may change.
Both sides as of right now are at a stalemate and much like world war 1 neither side has made huge gains on the other. Long distance magical artillery strikes have become more common and destructive. Over time the battle field became filled with craters and pools of water collecting in them made it all the more difficult to transverse.
The current time as of now is 11:59 and the commander in charge for the human army, general Ford had ordered a full artillery barrage on a suspected hidden enemy spotting position that was giving enemy artillery targets to hit.
The hill that they were firing at had a huge tree on top, or at least did, before it burnt down after a mission was carried out to burn the forest down to allow them to see their enemies better.
At the strike of 12 the barrage began and hundreds of shells hit the hill. What surprised Ford however was that the hill collapsed.
The human side cheered thinking that they had destroyed the elven position and would be safe to attack in the following days.
The humans celebrated by firing a few more shells at the hill as they danced and sang.
A captain in charge of the second squadron came over to congratulate the general.
"General sir! This plan of yours worked splendidly and I'm sure the higher ups will be pleased with your idea. They may even put you in charge of the whole front!"
"Hahaha! I can only hope so. The plan worked well and we should be able to move forward and push the elven lines back. This is a great victory for *RRROOOAAARRR* us!?"
In the midst of celebration a huge roar came from the direction of the hill they just shot. What stood up was a huge creature with black scales, dorsal plates down its back to it tail. With purple eyes and a height that easily reached 60 meters and 110 meters long.
As it stood upright fully it let out a breath and turned towards the human army. Sending chills up all the spines of the now quite trenches on both sides the creature moved towards the front line.
The sight of the creature moving towards them the sound of retreat rang throughout the trenches as every soldier ran for their lives before the creature destroyed them.
