The Winter Competition is coming. The winning design gets to be worn by the Queen during the National Year End Gala.
Yue knew that this could be her ultimate chance to be recognized. Even if they previously won in the international stage, it was the company's name that was advertised. It would be an individual game this time.
Her days were spent cooped up in the studio. The company only required few drafts from her for their clothing line since she was hired in special condition, so she was free to use the rest of the resources at her disposal.
Ker was just sleeping all day. She didn't even know why he bothered to keep coming.
Baby Kil was also rarely seen nowadays. She heard he entered a prep school.
Life gets to be cyclic.
In a quiet environment, senses tend to be heightened.
Before the ringtone sounded, Yue detected the incoming sound waves and answered the call.
"Assistant Yi" Yue was kind of expecting this call.
"Young Miss, its Young Master" Ruyi didn't hide the grim in his tone.
"What happened?" Yue frowned, she had a bad feeling.
"Please Young Miss. You're the only one the Young Master would listen-" beep beep beep
The moment Yue felt that something was wrong; she was already heading out towards Yyan's company.
She was actually running, running away from Yyan.
Despite the fact that they verbalized that nothing was supposed to change, but how could that be?
It was just a coincidence that the competition is about to start that's why she got to have an excuse to hide from him.
She hadn't been going home for days now.
She knew Yyan was also trying to give her some space.
But she eventually had to settle to move on.
She just hadn't heard from him for a couple of days, what could have possibly happened?
She went straight to his office, this time no one impeded her from doing so. The guards, reception, and the secretaries were already informed of her identity. But of course, the ordinary employees are not privy to the information. So when they saw her using the elevator meant for the CEO, everyone started to whisper.
On the way, it was not Assistant Yi who have received her but Shuuei. Before she can even ask of the situation, Shuuei already offered the information.
"Little sister you're finally here! You need to help us. Assistant Yi was sent out on a mission as soon as he called you. When you lost consciousness, Young Master had been staying in vigil by your side and didn't eat nor sleep. Now he's having troubles with keeping his food in but refused to let the family doctor check on him" Shuuei got excited and spilled everything without holding back. Only when he saw how dark Yue's face was did he realize he said too much.
Yyan strictly warned them not to tell her how he fared during those days.
He didn't want her to be guilty since it was his choice to do so.
But now his big mouth has brought him trouble.
"Bring me to him immediately" she was naïve and careless. She knew he must have lack some sleep but didn't know that it was to the extent that he totally skipped it altogether with his meal.
Is she going to die? Or is he planning to die?
Before she left, she made sure to oversee his meals and observed that nothing was wrong. But the truth slapped her in the face.
Shuuei didn't dally and brought her to Yyan's office.
The man was nowhere to be seen.
The secretary informed them that he was still in the middle of a meeting.
Yue let them leave after delivering her instruction not to let Yyan know that she had arrived.
Yue didn't touch anything in the office but decided to sit on his chair. She turned to get a full view of the outside.
The company was not the tallest building, but the position was strategic.
The sun was about to set, and the office is positioned to perfectly capture such majesty.
During day time, the city is not as appealing, but the night and the colorful lights cover such unsightliness and reveal a world of starlight.
The door was opened decisively but the footsteps stopped there.
The owner may have noticed that someone had moved within his space.
The man stood by the door and watched as his chair turn to face him.
Seated was the petite lady basking in the glory of the setting sun. Her sleepy eyes invited intoxication but there is certain hint of anger that can be observed.
Yyan's head suddenly ached.
He didn't know if he can still trust his subordinates.
"Let's go home"' Yue didn't say anything to reprimand him. She stood up to approach him, held his hand and dragged him out.
"I still have work to do, you go home first" Yyan finally found his voice to protest. As much as he wanted to be with her, he knew she didn't come because she's ready to face him.
"You have no right to negotiate" Yue faced him with determined face.
"Hmm, as you wish" Yyan let himself be guided by Yue.
She had obviously set everything up. As soon as they existed the building, the car is already waiting for them.
The atmosphere within the car is a suffocating, but it is a welcome thing. As long as he got to be with her, even if she's angry it's already bliss.
Yyan suddenly felt the pain in his stomach but managed to hold his reaction.
But since Yue is already aware of his condition, even if she was not directly looking at him, at her peripheral she saw that minute discomfort in him.
She bit her lip but still remained silent.
When they get to the villa, the servants are already there to greet them.
"Welcome home Young Master and Young Miss. The doctor is already waiting" the head butler informed.
"Thank you" Yue simply acknowledged then looked back at Yyan.
She once held his hands and let the butler lead them to the doctor.
Under Yue's scrutinizing watch, Yyan obediently let the doctor examine his condition.
"How's his condition?" Yue asked as soon as the doctor finished.
"A couple of more days and things would turn to worse, good thing we managed to detect it before it happen. Here's the list of medicines he needed to take and foods he is only allowed to eat during the recovery period. This one knows that Young Master is always busy, but during these times, it is crucial to avoid stress-therefore, your work should be set aside for the moment" the doctor had been serving the Crest family for ages and was specifically assigned to take care of the Young Master's health. But as the once little boys gets to be older, he required less and less attention and care. If not for the hard will of the Young Miss, he can't imagine what will happen to the Young Master.
He can't even imagine how the little lady managed to make her brother obedient. It is such a miracle in his eyes.
A few more words from the doctor and the two of them were left alone.
"You heard the doctor. From here onwards I'll personally monitor your health. Leave the matters of the company with Assistant Yi. Please call him back" Yue chose to maintain a strong front.
���You don't have to do this Yue. I know you still have drafts to finish for the competition. I can take care of myself" Yyan said helplessly. He is seeing her in a new light and she is still adorable being strict and all.
"No, I won't let you take care of yourself to doom" Yue with her arms akimbo.
Yyan suddenly frowned, seemingly uncomfortable.
Yue suddenly panicked and kneeled in front of him checking his condition.
"The doctor said you shouldn't experience the pain. Why is this happening? Hold on for the moment, I'll check if the doctor still haven't left" when Yue was about to leave, she was suddenly enveloped within a pair of strong arms.
"Wha-" Yue was about to struggle.
"Don't move" Yyan whispered and it was apparent now that he was just faking.
Yue stayed still. Yyan buried his head on the curve of her neck. His warm breath is tickling her skin. It would be a lie if she denied the strong pounding of her heart. It is making her chest uncomfortable.
She didn't know how long she stayed in that position while kneeling but she never get to hear Yyan speak. She just felt all his weight falling on her.
Even if it's hard, Yue carefully released herself and helped Yyan to bed.
The medicine was already administered to him and he is only allowed to eat in the morning so she just let him sleep.
She still took his existence for granted. She's a failure of a human. But this is the last time she would let Yyan down. Her conviction is determined.
Yue took a last look at his handsome sleeping face before leaving the room and making a phone call.
