Chapter 2: World's end
dsdwIt has been 5 years when I was under the king, nothing much has happened, till' now. my height has stayed the same and my face hasn't changed, I still look like the child from back then, I ran away from the kingdom and I'm now treated as a real monster, I have no name for myself but I'm still clinging to the name Kirin for conveniency reasons. I learned that the kingdom was preparing for the war and doesn't plan to stop while all the captains were agreeing to his decisions, there wasn't any reluctance either, it was all for the sake of the kingdom they said but why do I feel like if I stayed the kingdom then we would win, wouldn't I, the person who wants the war to stop be more relieved if all of this ordeal stop? there are two reasons why; one I don't like fighting for their cause and two, if the king we're to win, all of the other races would cease to exist, right now the military power of the corrupted is beyond what I expected and I heavily underestimated their fighting prowess, neither I could probably fight them, from constant training I noticed that my unbelievably Overpowered ability has its limits and its time, I can only keep this up for 3 hours, and if I exceed it too much then there's a chance that I would die, so if I fight the military head-on then there's a chance that I would lose, a prolonged battle is my weakness but if I know the what is the cause other than my endurance then it's possible but that would take me a century. right now I'm in some sort of cave in the humans' territory, all of the other races can sense the presence of other races if they intrude on their territory so my only choice is the humans' territory, for now. They are exceptionally weak with no abilities backing them but their excellence is their ability to adapt and use tools and weapons with comfort, they have a kingdom in their midst but from what I heard he's a benevolent one but it would be best to hide rather than seek for help if even my one nation thinks of me as a monster then even a child can tell that I'm a monster by every race.
Upon entering a town where the king resides on I noticed some similar yet somehow different designs in my "nation" to theirs, stone buildings and wooden beams, their language is the same but has a different alphabet than mine and they seem more organized, I ask around for some help and they all seem friendly if not a bit cautious of me, I am wearing a cloak like mantle but I don't know their fashion sense so best to hide myself... although I thank myself that I look like a human unlike beasts and my own kind which is rather common. I heard that the "guild" is the place where I should look for help so I asked for directions but, "ugh, what are you doing in the presence of a noble? speak commoner!" I don't know how to respond, 'noble'? I have never heard of that word, "is this commoner simply ignoring me? do you not know who I am?" this might end badly, respond! respond idiot! "I'm sorry but I come from a different place, I'm simply just exploring the town that was within my route so forgive me if I don't know anyone here miss noble." "good, and I better not see you again nor do you obstruct my way so move!" I move in response, I guess some corrupted hearts (assholes) are widespread, I guess that's unavoidable. walking through the door I notice some people clad in armor, leather and has iron weaponry; knives, sword, and some bows, but I didn't see the odd barrel-shaped weapon that that noble used, it looked dangerous but right now my concern is to *find out what I'm supposed to do. "hello sir are you applying or requesting?" a girl, blond and thin asks me. "applying? requesting?" "oh sorry, sir are you perhaps not from this area?" "yes, I come from a village near the borderlines so I'm quite new here, I'm simply just passing by" "oh is that so? then do you have any questions right now?" "yes, what are the people here wearing armor doing in a place like this? are they soldiers?" the woman chuckles for a bit but continue the explanation "they are adventurers, they gather and hunt for the people and villages, honestly sir if you don't know about adventurers then I'm quite concerned about your village." so adventurers are people who fight for the people, unlike the military in my... oh right the military, "what about the military here? do you have any info about that?" "well if you're searing information about the military you've come to the wrong place, this establishment was for people who weren't accepted in the military and are now mercenaries trying to live by completing requests here" I see, then "what about currency here? what kind of currency do you hold here?" "the currency here is gold, silver, and copper, 10 copper is 1 silver and 100 silver is 1 gold, there's also platinum and orichalcum but that's only available if you're a noble, 1,000 gold is one platinum and 10 platinum is 1 orichalcum. Oh! and if you are requesting then it's possible to give compensation like 'if you finish this request then the reward is 10 medical herbs or 50 iron ores' and so on so the monetary value here in the guild is quite small but you still need money for food and expenses"... way too much information but I think I get the idea (*note from the person helping in assisting in this novel, I didn't understand halfway through).
"I'm gonna make a request then please" "if it's a request then please fill in this form, and write down, the request in this piece of parchment and put it in the board over there" the only problem is I don't know the letters here, shit. "can you please write it for me I'm on a bit of a rush." the attendant shrugs in annoyance but write it anyway /please gather 10 medical herbs and hunt animals in the vicinity, any will do, if you're finished then go to the cave near the mountains for the reward/. there's no expense for making a request but there's expense if you cancel it, I better be careful.
as I walk back to the cave I was attacked by an Ursa, a giant Ursa, I prepare to fight but some people in leather armor run to my assistance, "you there! run!" I step back but the Ursa still scraped me by the chest. Shit! I forgot, my corruption activates if I get hurt, retract! "This will be your end Monster!" a loud warcry instilled the monster and made it flinch, they 2 people in leather rush in and one helps me back up, "are you alright? you seem to be injured, here I'll help you just lie back for now" all I heard after that was the continuous clashing and grunting but after a minute or so it stopped. "Nathan is he safe?" "yes, he's safe, he didn't get any vital injuries so a little bit of time and it will heal" who are these people? "hey there, ya fine? ya didn't push yourself did ya?" I nod in response and they began carrying me. "sorry if we haven't introduced ourselves, I'm Nathan, leader of these two troublemakers, the one with with a bow and a knife is Lute and the one who tended to you was Mike." "hey! who are you calling troublemakers?" "hahaha, you two who else? anyway, don't be harsh on Mike just because he's a medic a'ight? he isn't the one who fights as you can see, thin, short, he's the epitome of a weakling" is something wrong with being a medic? anyway, should you be calling him that? he looks pissed. "what are you doing in this area anyway? quite rare for a resident of this area to walk through the gate, even rarer for nobles, yer not a noble right?" I shake my head "I'm going back home, I live in a cave but if you're concerned about that then don't be." "hahaha, well that's expected since you were the one who posted that request, yer request was Herbs and meat, right? it's a coincidence that you were our client, and thankfully you didn't die, it would be harsh that the first request that Mike accepted was immediately retracted, anyway about the reward..." "if you're talking about that then I suggest finishing my request first, I'll give the reward after that, also I can walk by myself right now, I can show you my cave so things would be faster" they nod in agreement. after that, they went off for my request and I began building my new contraption, if this succeeds then I have my chances to oppose the corrupted race especially the military and the king for now though I would like to rest.

I'm sorry! the draft I sent you was a bit too much wasn't it. anyway for questions for the future, my name isn't Kirin in real life, though I prefer to hide my real name due to uhh... comedic reasons, and please don't confuse the Kirin(me) and Kirin(novel) I have used the name Kirin in my spare time when I was in 2nd year junior high. also if you notice any mistakes or if you want me to improve then after the 5th chapter that I make would be my day to rest, 5 chapters per week is my goal but I also have college to attend to... as long as there are no major projects that I have to tend to, and as long as my health starts rising.
