Chapter 1: Is this Even Legal?
I woke up at 12:37 pm with a sick feeling in my stomach. Reluctantly I stepped down on the creaky wooden floor just in time to see a cockroach, "Dammit not again.", I grumbled.
When I opened the door it let out a large creak just enough to hurt my ears. I looked over to the dining room where my mother sat drinking her morning coffee in a large mug with "First my coffee <3" plastered on the front.
Her red hair mangled in a gross messy bun with her cyan eyes standing out against her spray-tanned skin. She was almost a close opposite to me. I have long silky pink hair down to my knees, piercing blue eyes, and ivory skin as I've been told.
My mother motioned me to sit down for her open her mouth and speak in a beautiful voice ruined by years of smoking. "Well, are you excited?" I have no idea what she's talking about so I asked, "Excited about what?" As soon as I said those words the color dropped from her face and said: "Don't tell me I forgot to tell you?" "Forgot to tell me what?" She let out a sigh and said: " I have signed a contract for you to be married to a rich man."
After I heard those words I got upset and said loudly "Why would you do that without my say in it!?" Without letting her speak I stomped across the creaky to my room onto my bed to curl up in a ball.
"I know we're struggling to keep this apartment but an arranged marriage?" I stopped talking just in time to hear my mom say "What's wrong with that girl? She has never had a love interest just for her to be upset to be in a relationship."
