Chapter 21: Papa wolf, Mama wolf
I'm currently practicing other kinds of magic at my usual resting spot, on the hill. I haven't really practiced much of any magic, other than heat magic recently. I wonder why?
It's already been a week since Fluffy taught me about the world, Phantasia. His lessons are always enjoyable, and he always answers my questions when I ask him. Fluffy is really nice, isn't he?
When he was teaching me about the different races of people in Librum, I found myself being fascinated by the wide variety. He mentioned a lot of different races, like Humans, Elves, Beastkin, Dwarfs, and so many more! Isn't it cool that there's so many races?
I'm mostly interested in beastkin, though! Fluffy mentioned that beastkin is used to refer to demi-humans with animal or beast traits.
I want to see what the other beastkin look like! Do they look similar to me? I'm a beastkin with a mix of Silverwolf and White Fox traits, though. Fluffy and Tails mentioned that I'm unique since beastkin normally have only one animal's or beast's traits.
Anyway, does that mean there's also rabbit beastkin? Or maybe boar beastkin? What do other wolf and fox beastkin look like? I'm curious!
I'm also slightly interested in humans, too. I was told that I used to be a human for a short period of time. Since that's the case, it's natural that I want to know about humans too, right?
Finding other beastkin still takes priority, though!

(Ah! Papa wolf, and Mama wolf!)
I run up to them and hug them as soon as I can. I hug Papa wolf first, and Mama wolf second. It's been so long since I've last hugged them like this... Their fur feels nice to the touch, like always.
(What's wrong, Mimin? To suddenly give us a hug like this...)
(It's nothing, Mama wolf. It just feels like it's been a long time since I spent time with you, and Papa wolf.)
When's the last time I've hugged them anyway? I've been occupied with so many things lately, like learning, hunting, and magic practice...
(How nice of you, Mimin... Actually, we came here today to look for you.)
(What is it, Papa wolf?)
(Are you free today? Do you want to take a walk with us?)
Eh? Where are we going today? Papa wolf is suddenly asking me to go out for a walk together with Mama wolf?
(It's as you said, Mimin. It feels like it's been so long since we've spent time together.)
(Mama wolf... Yes, I'm free today! I'll gladly spend the entirety of today with both of you, Papa and Mama wolf!)
That's right! It doesn't matter where we go today, as long as we get to spend some time together!
(Thank you, Mimin. If you're ready, let's go! Mama wolf and I have some place that we want to bring you to.)
(Yes! I'll be in your care, Papa wolf, Mama wolf!)

We're walking down a path through the forest now. Somehow, there's just a clear path here with little trees in the way, even though this is a dense forest. There's also many tree leaves scattered all over the ground.
Seriously, there's a lot of tree leaves around here! My feet sink into the floor of leaves, going up above my ankles. There's also large piles of leaves here, and some piles of leaves are even larger than I am!
(Do you remember this place, Mimin?)
(Now that you mention it, Papa wolf...-)
I feel strangely familiar with this place, like I've spent a lot of time here before.
(-Have I been here before?)
(You have, when you were two years old. Everyday, you would play with the leaves along this path, and someone always had to watch over you.)
(You were just a small child back then! You would sink into these piles of leaves, or even disappear into the floor! How energetic you were back then...)
Is that so? These leaves do seem like a lot of fun to mess around with.
(You were quite a handful to look after...)
(Look at how much you've grown since then! You grow up so fast...)
I feel a strong urge to jump into all these piles of leaves suddenly. I start throwing the leaves into the air, and the soft edges of the leaves poke my fingers when I touch them.
(Oi! Mimin! Don't disappear on us like that! Papa wolf and I don't want to spend too much time looking for you!)
(It's fine, isn't it? Mimin's too big to disappear into the floor of leaves now, especially her ears and tail. Finding her should be much easier.)
(Hahaha! This is fun!)
Playfully crinkling through the leaves, I feel warm inside me. Being able to spend time again with Papa wolf and Mama wolf is nice...

(Papa wolf, Mama wolf. There's a place I want to go to. Is it fine if we go there?)
((Oh? Where is that?))
Both Papa and Mama wolf replied together. Ever since Fluffy's been teaching me, there's one place that I've been somewhat interested in, that I want to see.
(Lindis.)
Eh? Suddenly both Papa and Mama wolf became silent after hearing the place I want to visit.
(What's wrong? Can we not go to Lindis?)
(Well... Mimin, people won't allow beasts to enter cities, and Lindis is no exception.)
(That's right. We can only accompany you until we're nearby, then you have to enter the city by yourself.)
Eh? I didn't want to enter the city, though?
(Not that! I just wanted to see the city. I don't need to go inside!)
(Oh! Then that's fine. Mama wolf and I won't allow you to enter the city by yourself, anyway.)
(We can see the city from this forest, though. Let's go!)
Why did Papa wolf and Mama wolf think that I want to enter the city by myself? Was it the way I said it?

(We can see Lindis from here. It's kind of far away, but it's as close as we can get without being seen by people.)
(Thanks, Papa wolf, Mama wolf!)
We're now at the edge of the forest, and just a few steps in front of us is a large, open space with grass everywhere. Lindis can be seen far away, with walls surrounding it. There's an open gate facing this forest from Lindis, with two grey dots beside the gate.
From what I've learned... Those two grey dots must be the guards? That means Lindis is really far away from this forest.
To the west side of Lindis is another forest. That must be the forest with animals and weaker beasts in it. I can't see from here if there's another gate facing that forest.
To the east side is a large amount of buildings, with many different colours of dots moving around slowly in that area. Those must be the people of Lindis, and the buildings must be built by them.
Some of the people are entering and exiting Lindis from that side, so that means there's also an open gate over there. I still can't see the gate, though.
Inside the walls of Lindis, there's multiple buildings that I can't identify from here. One of them must be the guild that I learned about. I can't tell which building is the guild, though.
(So? Have you seen enough yet? We can't stay here for too long, in case we're spotted.)
(Oh, Papa wolf. Yes, I've seen everything about Lindis that I wanted to see. I'm ready to return now.)
We started making our way back to our home. There wasn't much to see about Lindis from this forest, because it's too far away. But I was able to confirm what I have learned from Fluffy, so that's nice.
(What do you think about Lindis?)
(Ah, I don't know... I can only see what Fluffy taught me about Lindis.)
If I can get closer to Lindis, or even enter the city, then maybe I'll get to see more stuff!
(Papa wolf, Mama wolf, can I enter the city so I can see more of Lindis? Ah... But I have to enter alone...)
That's right... Papa and Mama wolf can't enter Lindis together with me...
Suddenly, I start to feel some sort of pain in my chest. Is this... heartache?
I don't want to leave Papa and Mama wolf. I can't imagine myself being in Lindis without them!
(How about this, Mimin. When you're eight years old, we'll allow you to enter Lindis by yourself. Is that fine?)
(Mama wolf, that's... I want to enter Lindis together with both of you, though! Surely, you'll figure something out! Right? Papa wolf?)
(Haha, that's right, Mimin. We'll find a way to enter Lindis together with you, so wait until you're eight years old, alright?)
(Yes! Thank you, Papa wolf, Mama wolf! It's a promise, then!)
I don't know how they'll enter Lindis, but they said they'll figure something out! I'm just glad that I can enter Lindis with them in the future, so I'm excited for that!
