Chapter 4: Gradual Acceptance III

Gradual Acceptance III

"Harry! Harry! Are you ok!" The frantic voice of Matthew could be heard as he rushed towards Harry who suddenly froze with glazed eyes suddenly, Harry regained clarity as he faced the frantic Matthew "yes it fine, was just a bit lightheaded", Matthew obviously didn't believe him "we should probably get you to the hospital, I should have done this earlier." Standing up to put his coat on where Harry's voice broke through his thoughts.

"I'm fine really, I appreciate your concern but I think I just need a bit of rest" as he spoke he noticed the energy that he now knew was the source of his magic react, Matthew had a dazed look before he sat down returning to normal. His stomach chose the right moment to let out a growl, Matthew chuckled as he observed Harry "it seems like you're hungry as well", as he retreated to the kitchen Harry let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

"I don't have a lot as I usually eat out, but I'm sure I can whip up something for you, hope you don't mind sandwiches" he voice trailed from the kitchen and Harry replied, "that's fine". Outwardly he was calm however in the recess of his mind he was freaking out, "oh God! Is that what I think it is?! HAHAHA! Whoever you are that sent me here with this, thank you!" Harry's thoughts were on cloud nine and it showed on his face with the grin that was plastered on, barely managing to hold himself back from laughing out loud.

He managed to calm down by the time Matthew returned with a plate of sandwiches, "here have something to eat", as he relaxed back in his seat periodically while glancing at Harry in thought. "If you have something to say let it out" Harry's voice came in between bites, Matthew took a breath and replied, "I'll need to call the police and child services to handle this as this is something I'm in no position to handle".

Harry pauses mid-bite and said "there's no point calling the police", "what do you mean?" came the immediate response. "Do you think that others haven't noticed the abuse and tried to report? But the police never came, my captors have connections that allows them to get away with this" "if my theory is correct that'd be Dumbledore or whatever his name is."

"Surely that can't be! There's no way they could simply brush this off" Matthew argued but Harry simply shook his head, once again feeling his magic react instinctively "you don't know who they know, so don't bother trying, I've seen people try but disappeared"

Matthew was stumped "so what are we to do now?" It was Harry's turn to raise an eyebrow "we?", Matthew nodded "I can't just leave you out on the streets now can I."

Harry laughed a little at that "what's funny?" asked Matthew, "no I'm not laughing because I find it funny, I'm actually grateful you want to help me" he paused then looked at Matthew "you've done enough, what you can do is take me to Charing Cross Road, I know people there that can help"

Matthew looked at him not sure if he should believe him or not but Harry presses on "as I was going to say, the points you listed, you don't need to worry."

Matthew chuckled "it feels like I'm not even talking to a child, how old are you?" Harry smirked and said "I'm old enough, maybe not in body but in mind and soul" and left it at that. Matthew shook his head "well I need to go to sleep, unfortunately, I don't have a spare bed so the couch will do till we get you sorted" "that'll be fine, you don't have to worry about it", Matthew nodded then went upstairs to his room while Harry relaxed and closed his eyes.

As soon as he relaxed he felt like he was drawn into his mind before him stood a magnificent palace with white marble stones and golden trims interwoven in its design with the words 'Library of Heaven's Path Floating in the air before dissipating.

Somehow, he could tell he's not exactly in his mindscape, more likely in a separate space but he could feel the connection to his mind even though he doesn't understand it yet. He eagerly approached the giant golden gate as they automatically opened for him, inside he was faced with a dome easily reaching 8 feet tall and behind it countless bookshelves could be seen. It was simply... endless.

"Amazing" the words barely a whisper as he took the sight in, breathless as he'd never seen anything like this before. "With this library, nothing can stop me. If all it took was a year for the main protagonists in that novel to go from the weakest to one of the strongest in his realm, struggling and relying on lucky encounters that realistically wouldn't happen. What says I who will gain access to the Potters wealth and knowledge readily available for me to access without struggles. With all the knowledge in this world freely available."

He took a breath in and focused on the dome, it was pure unblemished white with golden lines circling it from the bottom to the top in a swirl pattern, pulsating with power, he could feel his connection with the library strongest there. "This must be what links us, but it never mentioned this in the novel" he stared at it in wonder.

Having seen enough for a night he retreated from the library and opened his eyes, it was still dark outside, just after midnight according to the clock on the wall. His mind slowly drifting to sleep as his energy still needed to recover.
