Chapter 45: Friends with an enemy

Briana took her seat and no longer said a word.

Ha, just because she was startled for a bit doesn't mean that she will let her guard down.

She elegantly waited for the meeting room to quiet down and for the meeting to start.

Adriana stood up with a laptop that Natalie had handed her. She connected it to the screen and the first slide of the presentation showed up for everyone to see.

All the formal introductions and small talk was over. Right now they had to get this meeting over with.

".....Let's move on to the next topic. The app would not only will there be more of our products exposed to the customers but we will satisfy our customer's needs. By this I mean.." Adriana pulled up the results of a survey.

"As you can see by the results people love to dress. They want to show off the styles they love to wear and they like buying clothing of good material. The only problem here is that 94% of the customers who took this survey always need to ask someone to help them style their clothing, the other 6% can do it on their own. When we started working on the app we wanted to conduct this survey and when we saw the results we were even more motivated to make it a reality."

She paused and pressed a button on the small remote in her hands. "I have sent to you all a copy of the survey and the design for the application. When you tap the little closet icon the customer can choose to generate an outfit with the clothes they have already bought or they can generate one with clothes from our stores. They have the option to go and get the clothing themselves or order it ahead of time. Please take a moment and compare the results of the survey and the design for the application." She told them and also bought up a slide that compared the two up on the screen.

"You have added a way to solve all of the customer's problems with just the tap of a closet icon."

"Exactly, Mr.Roberts. Our goal with the application is exactly that. Not only will we satisfy our customers but according to all of our tests and calculations, sales will rise higher than they have ever before. I'm talking about breaking a record here. It's amazing how just one app can make such a huge impact on both of our brands. I have also contacted GG Tech and they agreed to help us in the making."

Mr.Roberts raised an eyebrow when the next slide pulled up.

"Of course this idea is nothing new but it's not something that has succeeded so far which is why I understand if you don't wish to take the risk. I'm not talking about just a simple mobile app that works as a virtual closet to help our customers find their tastes and dress better. I'm talking about a program that can also be placed in our stores and even in our custom's physical closets."

Adriana continued on explaining everything in detail. She was glad that everyone was paying attention to her and they would often ask questions as well. It wasn't only her who was pleased with the outcome of the presentation.

Everyone or at least almost everyone was pleased with the way she made her presence known. If they had known Justine is such an amazing person they would have definitely shown more interest in her brand before.

This was a short crossroads between two big brands but it would surely be a huge change in the fashion industry.

"They say the CEO of LABELS is as picky when it comes to proposals as he is with his food."

Hearing this is nothing new and it was definitely true. The other people in the meeting all had different thoughts but they could agree on the same doubt. Though the plan sounded beneficial and Justine is a worthy partner to LABELS it's still too early to decide anything. There are many more variables to consider and it will take a long time to get everything ready.

The meeting ended up being even longer than it was expected because there was a lot of discussion.

Noah, who had been quiet and simply listening to their discussions, finally spoke.

"Lunchtime will be soon, Angel will schedule another meeting where we will continue to discuss everything else. Ms.Price you and your team may proceed with your plan." He said this and he left the meeting room.

Seeing that Noah had no plan on following the itinerary and going for lunch together Adriana sighed in relief.

She picked up her things and started shaking hands and making small talk with the people in the room.

"I'm waiting to see future projects between LABELS and your brand." Joseph Lewis told her as they shook hands. He was a 50-year-old man and also one of the leading designers here in LABELS He had become quite fond of Adriana's work over the years and he took the opportunity to express just that.

"I'm sure Briana will be in good hands now that I meet you in person." Briana's cousin Damian Brooklyn told her with a smile.

He also started working at LABELS over a year ago if Adriana's investigation is correct. She never paid much mind to him because he's not really important. Now that she saw him in person she glanced at Briana.

"I'm looking forward to your teachings." Her lips curled upwards into a beautiful smile.

"Hmm."

Adriana let go of his hand and turned to Natalie. "Let's go get settled in."

"Oh, right Ms.Brooklyn you will take us to our offices right?" Natalie asked. With the same smile plastered on her face, Briana nodded her head.

She led them to the CEO office with Adriana's team following behind. She showed them their offices. Across the waiting room, there were 7 separate workstations and each member was to be there. Since Adriana needs her own private space to work she was given a larger space for herself.

"Held them accommodate, Ms.Brooklyn will take me to my office." Adriaan dismissed Natalie and followed Briana to her new office.

"This is it, if you have any discomforts I can find another one for you."

"This feels fine thank you." When Adriana said that she saw Briana desperately trying to leave.

She put down her purse and chuckled. "Are you afraid of me Ms.Brooklyn?" She asked.

Briana frowned. "Why would I be?"

"You seem to want to avoid me. I apologize if I was rude earlier. Since we will be seeing each other more often I think we should reintroduce ourselves."

"Hah, I'm Briana Brooklyn one of the team leaders here. I hope you enjoy your time here at LABELS."

"Oh, you really seem to have a problem with me." Adriana leaned back on the desk with an eyebrow raised.

"I really don't, I think you we have some kind of misunderstanding here." Briana's tone turned distant and her smile faded away.

'That's right...quit the act and show me who you really are.'

"Yes, it seems so. I heard you are a big fan of mine so I was a bit nervous and acted like that earlier. I hope we can be friends though…" With a gentle smile Adriana tapped her fingers on the desk waiting for a response.

Briana felt like she was being treated like an idiot. That was her being nervous?

'You told me this before...keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer. Come on...fall into the trap.'

"Friends?" Briana asked in a hesitant tone.

'Ha….you don't remember.' Briana's tense shoulders relaxed and a sense of relief washed over her.

She expected this outcome but seeing that her prediction was correct she knew what to do now. Everything was back into her control.

"You don't have to if you don't want to." Adriana sighed dejectedly.

"We can be friends! It would be a pleasure!"

'Oh...would you look at that.' A laugh threatened to escape her lips.
