Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Welcome packs opened

On my way to the inn to meet up with Twiggzy I started to wonder if I should open my pack with others around me. If my pack is so rare wouldn't that make it to where others might try to steal it from me. I decided to get a room at the inn while I was here. It seemed safer than opening up my pack where others could see it. I headed in to the inn.

"Come on little girl open it up and give us the money in it. There are more of us and you are just a little girl. No one is going to save you." Said a male orange fairy with green wings.

I looked around and saw 2 humans still at a table watching the situation but not willing to do anything at all. One was pink/white skinned and I caught a wolf emblem on the armor but it was being hidden by part of a cloak. The other was a Dark skinned man wearing all brown that looked like a farmer or something like that. Then there was a group of people clustered around someone or something.

"Leave me alone. I am waiting for someone. Go away." I heard Twiggzy say.

"What do you a weak dryad think you can do to stop us huh?" said the male Fairy again.

I walked up behind him and said, "What do you think you are doing to my little sister? Get away from her before I have to get involved. I am going to take down all your names and we will find you in the real world). Let's see how tough you are then."

They scattered like flies and ran out of the inn. Yelling not to mess with sisters. They have to have money.

"Twiggzy, Sorry I am late. Inn keeper? I need a room for a couple nights."

A older male Fairy came out from behind the bar. "Are ye sure ye want to spend yer money in a place like this?" Said the innkeeper in an Irish accent.

"Yes, the rooms are secure and safe right?"

"Aye, Lass that they are. It's 500 copper a night ye pay each morning and yer room is yers until you stop paying. Pay starts now for ye room."

I handed over 10 silver.

"Lets get some food and drink to take back with us to the room. I would like some stew and a large thing of honey mead. Twiggzy?"

Quietly she said, "A ham plate chefs choice on the sides and some more hot cocoa please."

I look at the innkeeper to ask how much and he chimes in.

"A Meal comes with Yer room. I will have me wife bring it up to ye when its ready. Here is Yer room key, head on up over there. Make sure ye take Yer mug with ye."

We took the key and headed toward the stairs that he pointed towards. We headed right past the two men but I was more focused on our destination that I missed the fact that they were watching our every step. As we got close to our room a small light flashed and our room door clicked and unlocked before we even got to our door. I was wondering how we would know what room was ours.

"Ok let's go in our room. I can't wait to see what we got in our packs. I will go first. Those guys were so rude." Twiggzy said excitedly with tears still in her eyes.

I felt so sorry for those tears but the lack of patience made her so cute. Twiggzy walked past me and into the room. I followed her in and shut the door hearing a click as the door shut. I looked around at the room it was simple but exactly what we needed. There were two twin beds, two small dressers, a night stand in between the beds next to the head of the beds. There was a small closet area and a small bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. It really was typical of what you would see at a hotel. Twiggzy looked around at it all in complete and total awe. It's like she had never seen a room like this before. I sat on the bed closest to the door. After about 10mins it finally seemed like Twiggzy was done checking out the room as she sat down on the other bed.

"Are you ready to see what amazing stuff I got in my Grade A welcome pack?" She asked me like she hadn't just spent a good ten plus mins looking at everything in the room.

I laughed I couldn't help it. She was so cute and funny. She looked at me seriously and I nodded with a huge smile still on my face.

"Ok then here I go. Drum roll please... 10... 9... 8... 7... Oh hell with it."

She opened her pack. I was doubled over in pure and total laughter she couldn't even wait to do her own countdown that she started.

"Hmmm I got 20 gold and 7 items, they are four articles of clothing that are a set, some gathering tools, animal food and then an animal collar."

"That sounds interesting, what are the item descriptions for the clothing and food and collar?" I asked.

"Animal food is used to feed your pet that you choose to have. Use it to help take and train your pet. Item can be found in the general vendor once you have your pet. Animal collar is used on a happy animal to make it become your pet. You cannot buy a collar anywhere in game so use it wisely. You can change your pet only 3 times. Although if your pet dies from old age, it does not cost you one of the 3 times to get another pet. Your pet will fight beside you."

"Those sound interesting and having a pet seems really cool. Now what about the clothing? Although I think getting the collar already is bad ass. The clothing set must do something since it is a set." I stated matter of factly.

Twiggzy looked at the clothing with an odd smile.

"The set is called, The +2 Always Clean Set D. This set is designed to never get dirty. It repels all dirt, dust, food, drink, animal anything, mud or anything else that might make one's clothing dirty. Must be worn as a set to get the effects and the +2 bonus to all stats and skills.

"Well now that sounds very handy with you being a Dryad. You will spend your time in the woods and around animals. At least you won't have to worry about washing your clothes now. Also, the +2 boost seems really nice as well. Let's see what it looks like, put it on."

Twiggzy did as I suggested and put on the outfit. It was beautiful the shirt was white with green trim and brown thread. The cloak was Brown with a green trim and white thread. The pants were brown and green. The boot were brown and looked sturdy and comfortable.

"That outfit looks amazing on you. It matches you amazingly well and will help you blend in with your surroundings if you are out in the woods or on a farm."

Just then a knock on the door sounded. A lady opened the door before I could get up to answer it. I was startled that the door wasn't locked. I knew I heard a click. I noticed there was a guy standing a bit behind her as well. It was the dark-skinned guy that I saw downstairs.

"I brought ye yer food and drink ye ordered from me husband." Said the woman in the same Irish accent as the innkeeper.

I got up and took the tray from her.

"Thank you for the food and for bringing it up to us." I said with a smile.

I was still watching the dark-skinned man behind her. As she backed up, he stepped forward and held out a note.

"This is for the girl, please take this note." said the man. "Have a great day."

Twiggzy took the note from him and then shut the door on them both and locked the door. She looked down at the note that said open this after you get some skills on the top of it. She tried to open it up but an error popped up saying you must have at least 1 skill in order to open this letter. You have 2 hours 38mins left to obtain your skills. We looked at each other.

"We need to rush this so you can get your skills. Let's eat and then I will open up my welcome package and then we can run to get you your skills unless you want me to wait until after you get your skills." I spoke.

"How about you open your pack and then you tell me about it while we eat. What grade is it anyways?" Twiggzy replied.

"Umm well here is the thing. I got the rarest pack you can get apparently as its SSS Grade. I was told that it had some really hush-hush stuff in it and I should be very careful who knows what I end up getting. It's very important that it doesn't get out. I am trusting you with a lot by opening this with you. You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone."

"I promise," she said with completely honest looking eyes.

"Ok opening it now."

I pulled out the large pack and tried to open it. I couldn't find where it opened until I turned it over and saw there was a leather strap and string holding it shut. I pulled the string and it fell to the floor. I set the pack on the bed and undid the leather strap. A blinding light lit up the room.

*Server announcement incoming*

The light went away and I looked at my welcome package seeing it for the first time.

"You have gained 3 Plat and 6 gold as well as 12 items. 1 is a Crystal grade chalice. Way to go on opening this pack." The package sounded off.

My jaw dropped. I got 3 plat and 6 gold!!! I had to sit down. That is more than I thought I could make in 5 years.

"WOW!!!" Exclaimed Twiggzy. "What are all the items and what's the chalice do? So much money you are rich!"

"Ok let's see here," I stated looking things over. " I have a complete outfit set its name is +6 Royal house set. There is a helmet, scale armor, tabard, scale pants, scale boots, cloak, gauntlets and a necklace. Then there is a gold and crystal chalice, gold silverware, a large egg and a gold and crystal collar."

"Put on the outfit and then tell me what everything does while we eat." Twiggzy said looking at her food.

"I am going to eat first before I put on the armor, but I will read the descriptions."

"Ok that works make sure you read about the chalice first. I want to know what it is if it's so cool to warrant a server wide announcement." She said bouncing on her bed almost squeaky with excitement.

I laughed again. Twiggzy is so cute.

"Okay Okay, calm down. I want to see a bite go in your mouth first though."

She ate a bite of her carrots and stared at me menacingly and then pouted. I burst out laughing.

"The Queen's Golden Chalice, this is the lost chalice that the leader of the game and head of Hope's paradise uses. This grants the user a royal station in game. Must earn an audience with the Queen herself in order to obtain your royal status."

"Wow you are going to be a royal," Twiggzy cheered and in a bragging tone she said, "I am friends with a soon to be royal. I am friends with a soon to be royal! Woohoo!!!"

Laughing and almost choking on my stew. I said, "I have to earn an audience with the Queen first. Now let's move on to the collar. Let's see here, this collar can only be used in a sacred and legendary hatched pet. You must find a legendary egg and hatch it to use this collar"

We both looked over at the egg sitting on the bed.

"I will read the egg now. The Legendary Black Dragonkin Egg. This egg is the last one of its kind. Please take care of it and help it hatch. May become a pet if you have the right sacred collar."

"So cool!!!" Screamed Twiggzy. "I wonder what will hatch from it."

"Now the golden silverware, this silverware is made from gold and will never break and is bound to the owner. This is the perfect thing for a royal banquet/feast or an everyday nature if you so desire."

"Boring!"

"Oh, hush already, now on to the outfit. The +6 Royal house set. This set declares you to be of the noble Dragonkin Black Flame house. May only be worn by the black Dragon kin clan. Will kill all others who try to wear this outfit. People will bow and show reverence everywhere you go. This armor prevents the user from being able to be affected by negative effects and haggling attempts. Once worn it is bound to the user."

"Ok that's both scary and cool at the same time."

We both looked at it and shivered. We ate the rest of the meal in silence.

"Time to put it on and hope it doesn't kill me."

I opened up my equipment screen and dragged the items into the proper slots.

Then proceeded to put the outfit on over my clothes. An error popped up saying it must be put on to bare skin. So, I took my shirt and pants off and stepped into the pants. They looked huge on me and then tightened to my size on their own. Then I put on the rest without incident and everything sized to my exact measurements. I looked amazingly well as I looked into the full-length mirror. The armor was of a black chainmail like scales. The tabard was black with a red emblem and black flame inside it with a gold trim and gold thread. Inside the black flame was a small golden crown. The cloak was just like the tabard with the gold trim, gold thread and solid black cloth. Boots were extremely comfortable and again solid black with gold accents around the top. Necklace was gold chain and a clear prism like crystal. The gauntlets matched everything by being black with gold accents around the edges...

"I look like I am rich and wealthy beyond belief." I spoke as I looked at myself.

I turned to Twiggzy and she bowed and said "Greetings My Lady Shi." Then rose back up with a mischievous smile.

I just shook my head at her and put on the solid black helmet.

"Everything but the cloak and tabard are made of the same black scales that look like Dragon scales. If it was white, I would call it mithril. We should have a black smith look at this armor. Well at least we learned one thing, you are part of the black Dragon kin clan. As it didn't kill you for putting it on." Twiggzy spoke with wisdom.

"Ok I don't mean to rush but we need to get you your skills now before you run out of time."

I gathered up my stuff and put it in my storage. I tried to take off the helmet but a notice popped up saying I had to wear the armor for 2 days before it can be removed and stored away.

"Looks like we will see what sort of reaction I get while wearing this armor. I can't take it off for 2 days now that I put it on."

"This is going to be funny," chuckled Twiggzy.

Having everything packed up we gathered up our good tray and headed out of our room.
