Chapter 35: Spider Demon
Hiroto looked towards Tanjiro, "You heard her right? If there's a Twelve Kizuki here, it means that their blood should be the closest to Muzan. If we can get that, we'll be closer to getting the cure for Nezuko."
"But, brother… how strong do you think one of the Twelve Kizuki is?" Tanjiro asked.
"Who knows, but they should be a lot stronger than the Demons that we faced so far. Plus, we don't know how many more of them there are on this mountain." Hiroto said.
"Oi! Did you defeat the Demon?!" Inosuke yelled as he came out from the trees.
"Yea, Tanjiro took care of it," Hiroto said.
"Inosuke, are you alright?" Tanjiro asked, looking at some of the wounds on his body.
"Can you not think about me with such meticulousness?!" Inosuke shouted, pointing at him. "Ya listening? You understand? I can do anything you can do! And also…" As Inosuke went on ranting, Hiroto interrupted.
"Ok ok, let's keep all of this for later, we're still in enemy territory right now," Hiroto said.
"Brother, that person… from that person I could feel a terrifying and agonizing smell… A smell that was enough to fuel her death wish at the end." Tanjiro said with a tone of concern.
Hiroto listened gravely and spoke up, "Then it confirms that there is something much more powerful on this mountain, but what is a Twelve Kizuki doing here? Is this a mountain inhabited by a clan of Demons?"
"I thought that Demons don't live together," Tanjiro said.
"You're right unless there is a being above said Demon's keeping them under its control. Whatever it is, standing around here won't solve anything, let's get a move on." Hiroto said, before leading the other two off.
As the group arrived at the river, they heard a loud sound from a distance away. *BOOM*
"That sound just now… did lightning just strike?" Hiroto said, looking at the direction of the sound.
"Like I care!!" Inosuke yelled out.
"I don't think I smell thunder clouds… but there's an irritating smell so I don't know." Tanjiro said.
"You smell something? Is it close?" Hiroto said.
"I can't tell, it's a smell that stings," Tanjiro said furrowing his eyebrows.
Hiroto, with his enhanced eyesight, saw movement from the other side of the river and saw w girl with pale, milky-white skin and snow-white hair similar to the woman Tanjiro killed.
"OOOHH! I'm gonna chop you up! Hold it Demon!" Inosuke shouted charging at her.
The girl turned and started running away, shouting, "Father!!"
In the next instant, Hiroto saw something big and fast coming down from above. "Watch out!" Hiroto yelled grabbing Inosuke and Tanjiro's shoulder and jumped back.
*BOOM* As the Demon landed, it crashed onto the ground where Inosuke was at, kicking up dust and rocks around.
As the Demon turned its head, Hiroto saw the same white hair on its head, however, his face resembled that of a gigantic spider with several eyes and spider pincers in both of its cheeks.
*!!* The group took out their weapons and were on guard.
"Get away from my family!" *BOOM* The Demon shouted as it punched the ground they were standing on, forcing them to dodge back.
'Water Breathing, Second form: Water Wheel' Tanjiro performed the second form, by jumping and spinning his body in an arc towards the Demon.
*Shik* The Demon raised its arm to block Tanjiro's blade, as the sword sticks into its arms and not slicing all the way through.
'The blade!! It isn't going through!' Tanjiro shouted in his mind.
"Tanjiro, watch out!" Hiroto yelled, running at the Demon, but before he could arrive the Demon grabbed Tanjiro and threw up into the air and further into the forest.
"Tanjiro!" Hiroto shouted.
"Kentaroooo!" Inosuke shouted after Tanjiro.
As Tanjiro flew into the air, he shouted towards Hiroto, "Brother! Look after Inosuke! He's wounded and can't fight properly…" Tanjiro's voice trailed off as his figure flew away.
Hiroto turned to the Demon silently, gripping his sword hard.
Inosuke looked towards Hiroto, and muttered, "S-Sanjiro?" Inosuke felt chills when looking at Hiroto's back. He could feel that Hiroto this time was angry.
"Which arm was it…" Hiroto said, looking at the Demon. "Which arm did you use to throw my brother?"
"Arghhh!" The Demon yelled and ran towards Hiroto.
*swish* *thud* The sound of the Nichirin Blade tore through the air, followed by the sound of an arm falling to the ground.
"AHHH!" The Demon yelled out, grasping its arm that won't regenerate.
"This one? Or…" Hiroto disappeared from Inosuke's side and landed a distance away from the Demon once more. *Swish* Shick*
'Fast… too fast…' Inosuke thought as he watched Hiroto once more instantly chopping the arm of the Demon in a split second.
"Now, before I thoroughly kill you, I have some questions that need answering," Hiroto said, looking at the Demon that kept on trying to regenerate its arms to no avail.
"Tell me, where is the Twelve Kizuki," Hiroto said.
The Demon visibly flinched at his words and ran up a tree. Hiroto looked on curiously, he knew that at this speed the Demon would never be able to escape.
As the Demon grabbed onto a branch, Hiroto could see its body start to crack and shift. *crck*
The back of the Demon started to expand in size, pulling the skin up and tearing through it came out another figure "AGhhhh!!" The Demon yelled as it stood up from its shell.
It's body turned green with blade-like protrusions sticking out from the stumps of its arms and legs. Losing its hair, it also obtained some sharper teeth and had five spikes going upwards from its forehead.
"Are you done?" Hiroto said, "Now, answer the question. Where is the Twelve Kizuki."
The Demon once more flinched and Hiroto could see a look of fear present in its numerous eyes.
Hiroto looked on and said patiently. "If I was you, I'd worry less about the Twelve Kizuki and more about the fury of a patient man. And I can be very patient…"
The Demon shivered at his words but then built it's resolve and lunged towards Hiroto with its spikes once more to attack him. "Aghhh!"
Hiroto dodged the strike to the side, leaving the Demon open for an attack. Inosuke looked on and shouted, "I won't be outdone by you!!" He charged towards the Demon and slashed his katanas down at its arm.
*clang* However, as the Katanas came down on the Demons arm, it snapped in half. 'What?' Inosuke was shocked, as he saw his blade break. *Bang* He was then punched off to the side, coughing up blood.
'Strong, so strong… How did Akihoto cut the Demon so easily?' Inosuke thought as he laid down on his back.
"I've wasted too much time with you, I need to go find Tanjiro." Hiroto said, performing the first form of Water Breathing, 'Water Surface Slash'.
Hiroto ran up to the Demon who also lunges towards him at the same time. As the water trails along behind Hiroto's Nichirin blade, he sends out a single slash of water. The Demon raised its spikes to block the attack, but the slash goes through the spikes and towards his neck, severing it in one blow.
*thud* The Demon's body fell to the ground, as blood started leaking its neck before it started to disappear. Hiroto looked over at Inosuke who was laying on the ground and wheezing.
"You should be safe for now, I'll go and find Tanjiro. Make sure you don't die." Hiroto said before disappearing from his position as he started to run towards Tanjiro's direction when he was thrown.
Inosuke gripped his hands in anger, causing them to bleed as he thought. 'I wasn't able to do anything. He's much stronger than me. I need to get stronger so I'm able to be on his level and surpass him. Just you wait, Makoto.'
[On top of a tree house]
At the top of a treehouse was Zenitsu who was laying on top of it as he tried to control his breathing. He was heavily injured and seemed to be poisoned. 'I need to control my breathing, so I can slow down the poison…'
"Why hello there. Are you okay?" A girl with a white and purple butterfly ornament in the back of her hair tiptoed over the body of Zenitsu calling out to him.
[Back to Hiroto]
As Hiroto ran through the forest, he could see red flashes of fire coming from the front. 'What is that? It's similar to when I use the Dance of the Fire God… Tanjiro?'
Hiroto thought but then realized if he was pushed to use the dance then he must be fighting something stronger than him. Coming closer to where the fight took place, Hiroto saw red threads spread out all over the area, trying to stop Tanjiro from approaching the white-haired boy Demon.
Hiroto saw that Tanjiro's katana seemed to have been broken, but flames came out from the place that was broken off and was used to cut the threads. Hiroto then saw that the box on Tanjiro's back was missing.
Hiroto started to panic and looked around, seeing that it was left open to the side, but he couldn't find Nezuko. Then, he noticed the blood that was on the threads started to glow in the direction Tanjiro was.
"The bonds between Nezuko and my brother! Can never be severed by anyone!!" Tanjiro shouted out, as he reached the Demon and swung his blade towards its neck.
*Bang* The flames shot out to the opposite side of the body as it collided. However, just as the blade made contact with the Demons neck, it started to glow as the blood on it seemed to explode and allowed the blade to pass through its neck.
Tanjiro swung the sword into a wide arc behind him as he cut the Demons head off, causing it to form a circle of fire around him.
'You finally danced, Tanjiro…' Hiroto thought, seeing his brother perform the Dance of the Fire God to overcome the Demon.

I'll post the next chapter soon after this to not keep you in suspense for long.
Hiroto might have lost out the beginning of this fight, but that was needed for Nezuko to use the blood arts and Monjiro's dance.
