Chapter 4: Tamer Union
It was only 30 minutes from their house to the Tamer Union along the way Cyrus made sure to train his control over his energy. But only enough to cause him to feel slightly tired he didn't want to exhaust himself to the point he fell asleep.
He had just finished his last rotation of energy when he opened his eyes and in front of his eyes was the biggest building he had ever seen. It wasn't very tall, only 3 stories but it was wide and had multiple smaller buildings connected to it. They pulled up and parked, getting out of the car with Agni sitting on his head he took everything in.
"Alright enough sightseeing let's go get you registered," his dad said while walking towards the front of the building.
Getting out of his daze he put his bag on his back and followed after his dad. When he stepped through the doors he was shocked again because as soon as he stepped through the doors he felt multiple energies come over him. Almost everyone in the building was trying to gauge his strength.
It was only natural most of these people had already almost died multiple times they were always ready to fight. But Just as soon as it happened he felt it go away they had realized he was just another newbie.
"Haha, I remember when I first stepped through those doors the same thing happened to me I almost fell on my ass from the pressure," his dad said while laughing.
"Real funny Dad," Cyrus said as he took in all the powerful tamers in the room.
After that, they walked up to the front desk where he got registered. With his basic information now in the database, he was now an official tamer, albeit one of the weakest ones. He would be changing that very soon, taking his digivice from the lady at the counter. It was a rectangular shape and black with a red outline going around the edges. Using his energy to bind it to himself and as soon as he did Agni dematerialized and went into his digivice.
Just like his bag his digivice also had a black digizoid embedded in it, this allowed for Digimon to be stored in it as data. Using his energy Agni materialized back on his head seemingly unfazed by what just happened and went back to sleep, on the screen of the digivice he saw Agni's information.

Looking at the screen Cyrus couldn't help but smile this was another benefit of being a natural tamer. All the Digimon gained from the union started at 0.1 in all stats. Agni was 3-4 times as strong, granted he still wouldn't be of any use in a real fight till he was at least rookie level. It did allow for both him and Agni to grow stronger faster and he was gonna take full advantage of it.
The best thing about digivice was that since they were bound to your soul they could be dematerialized with energy and recalled at will. You could even do it when your partner Digimon was still in the digivice.
"You're all set now, guess this is goodbye for a while," His dad said as he looked at him.
"Yeah it is dad, I'll miss you but this is something I have to do for myself," Cyrus said with conviction.
"You're right just make sure the next time I see you're at least a bronze tamer or you're gonna be in the training center nonstop," He said while pulling his son into a hug.
"The next time you see me I might even be stronger than you," Cyrus said hugging him back.
"All new tamers that are ready to go to the digital world please come to the portal room." said a monotone voice.
"Later Dad I'll be back before you know it," Cyrus said as he ran towards the voice.
Seeing his son leave to strive towards his goals he couldn't help but smile. He believed in him and so did the rest of his family they would be waiting for his return. Turning around he walked out of the building, it was time to go home.
As Cyrus stepped through the door he was greeted with a spectacular sight in the center of the room was a huge spiraling portal that was almost as wide as the room. It had tons of different numbers and letters constantly moving within it. Surrounding this huge portal were tons of smaller portals all similar to the large one. In front of each of these portals was a person all of whom looked to be around Cyrus's age.
After looking around for a while one of the staff members called him over and he was made to stand in front of one of the small portals. This was it. He was finally about to start his journey. He was excited but focused. Anything could happen on the other side even within the confines of the city. Especially since there was no limit to what level a Digimon could digivolve to like in the human world.
Sure there would be security and strict laws for anybody who went against them. They would be put in jail and depending on the offense possibly killed. He wasn't gonna let his guard down because of an illusion of security, and safety especially when he was still weak.
"Alright get ready when we say go you'll step through the portals. On the other side will be Union members waiting to receive you and take you to your accommodations. Any questions you have can be asked when you're in the digital world good luck," said the same monitor voice from earlier.
"3,2,1 go!"
As soon as Cyrus heard "go" he stepped through the portal he had made sure to put Agni inside the digivice to be safe. It was time to start his adventure and he was ready for whatever he would face in the future.
