Chapter 3: Oliver Midnight
Oliver knew there was something wrong as he went home that day. It started with him being dizzy then got a terrible headache. By the time he got home he collapsed on the floor, writhing in pain, And embraced the dark.
The world slowly melted into focus as Oliver sat up. "What happened" he said groggily, head still spinning as he realized his siblings were all huddled around him." How does this happen like every other day?" thought Oliver as he stretched his arms. "what happened?" Asked Gale. "I don't know" Oliver replied. "Well we are glad you're alright" said Apollo, "Oh, and there is someone who wants to see you about you're condition." for the first time since he woke up, Oliver looked at himself and saw that his arms were wrapped in a deep black mist.
"Oh, this?" Said Oliver as he waved the dark mist away "This is nothing." "But that mist was unmovable a second ago!" Flare practically wailled. "Yes, yes I'm sure that it was flare, don't worry about it." Said Oliver "how can I not worry? An unmovable mist shrouding your body? And how did you know how to get rid of it?" Flare asked frantically "all of your questions will be answered in time Flare." Said Oliver calmly "and I don't think that man that wanted to see me was a doctor." "Wh-what do you mean?" Said Flare, trembling slightly despite her best efforts. "I mean that that man is her to kill me, not help me" said Oliver. "Now, let's show him how hard that's gonna be" Oliver said, almost a whisper, as the black mist started to return " let's give 'em hell".
The man looked up slowly, as if moving through water. "Where am I?" He said, to which Oliver replied
"you're at my Mercy is where you are."
"Why are you doing this to me? What have I done to you?" Said the man,
"Oh maybe you forgot, but I'm that guy you were going to kill." Oliver said in a whisper "and right now, you are very lucky that I do not plan on killing you." And after some consideration, added "yet, at least" and then the man fainted.
"Wether you're asleep or not, I'll get my answers..." Whispered Oliver, pulling out a dagger made of something that might be said to have looked like a type of gemstone, but no gemstone is as black as death.
"uuhhh everything hurts" moaned Oliver as he rolled on his side "where the heck am I?" He added noticing for the first time that his siblings were trembling.
"wh-what d-do you m-mean?" Whimpered Forest "w-we're back home silly"
"Then why are you so scared, you thought I was hurt again or something? I was only sleeping."
Sleeping!?! Shouted Apolo, " you nearly killed that guy to grind information out of him!"
"What man?" Asked Oliver
"The one that tried to kill you?" Replied Gale patiently
"I don't remember..." Said Oliver slowly "I think perhaps I was sleep walking?"
" You don't kill people in your sleep Oliver." Whispered Apolo
"Ah, I should have been more specific," said Oliver "I was asleep, but the darkness might have been awake."
"And what darkness would this be?" Said Apolo as a black mist flowed through the room. Then realization dawned.
