Chapter 3: First Impressions: Pissed
After being dragged like an object, I was presented in front of a big door.
"Commander! What are you doing here?" The front door's guard asked.
Heh..This guy..He's a commander?
"Tell the king,the witch's daughter has appeared."
Witch's daughter? Who's daughter? Mom? Witch? But..They don't exist anymore, right? According to the book,they went extinct,humans hunted them.
After several minutes the door finally opened,presenting the throne room,also known as the audience room.
Once I walked in,many eyes followed my shadow. This feeling is nerve racking.
I walked a few steps,then bowed down because I wasn't wearing a dress. Supposedly, women were to curtsy,but for the commoners,there were some exceptions.
"Greeting to the king,father of our lands. I present myself as Moonlight."
I was crying inside. Mother made me remember all the pages of the book "Basics Of The High Society" . I wonder why can't we just say hi ,hello and bye bye. Like there so much in the book,300 pages to be exact.It is like a dictionary for ONE purpose.. And it's just the basics.
"You may rise…" A cold voice was heard.
Is it just me or can I feel ice growing in my back?
"..." He said nothing and kept looking at me..
Ice..LITERALLY!!!
"You really look like her..How troublesome.."
Excuse me!! That's what you say after meeting me for the first time?
"Let me be straight. Your destiny is to sacrifice yourself, your fate.And you're only job."
"I grant you the title of princess."
"..."
"You're dismissed."
"..."
"Oh.. Then pardon me,I shall excuse myself..Glory to the father of the kingdom.."
Once the doors closed,I sighed.
Let me explain my feelings with one word: PISSED.
The first word of your father: Sacrifice yourself.
Is that a greeting?
What was even expecting? A "Oh my! My daughter! I missed you so much!" or something like that. I dream too much…
Now that I'm kicked out,what am I supposed to do?

I saw a maid come in my direction.She was about sixteen and had orange hair.
"I'm sorry princess! I'm late. I never knew your audience with the king was going to be so short!"
"It's alright..Please raise your head..Me neither did I ever imagine for it to happen.Anyways my name is Moonlight."
Normally a noble,or someone with higher rank will give their name after a lower rank. {1}
Yet..I gave my name to her first..
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I did not give my name first! M-my name is Blossom!" She said and bowed down with a 90 degree angle.
"It's okay,I'm at fault here..I introduced myself first.Well anyways it's nice to meet you Blossom!"
I'm not used to acting all this mighty.. It feels weird being a princess like right away..
"I will be serving you princess!"
"No need for formalities..Call me Moonlight."
"No! I wouldn't dare! I am a maid..And..And..People will…"
"Alright I understand. No need to explain." I cut her.
"Erm..Would you like to go to your room,your highness?"
"I would..Please lead the way."
"Then please follow me!"

I plopped on the bed that was supposedly mine. I closed my eyes and was deep in thoughts.
First,my mother died.
She wrote me a letter. It said that I was a princess.
I went to the castle. I got dragged by some commander.
The king,my biological father hates me.
He has no emotions and no love for me.
He made me princess.
And I have to die.
The end.
"..."
"Is that my life! Boring,dull,and tragic?! What is this! What did I do to deserve this dear god! "
"I'm a princess now right?Shouldn't I be happy? Why does this feel like it is a start of a never-ending nightmare?"
I kicked and rolled around,shoving my head on a pillow.
"Wait a minute..My luggage and sandwich! Where is it? I need to retrieve it!That stupid guard!"
*Knock knock*
Someone? I stood up from the bed and walked toward the door.I opened the door and there I saw Blossom.
"Ah Princess! You shouldn't have opened the door! You only have to say come in."
"Oh.. I didn't know..Thank you for informing me."
"..."
"..." There was an awkward silence between us.
"Is there anything you have to do in this room?Or an information?Or-Or is this not my room?"
I finally broke the silence.
"Ah! Yes! First here is your luggage, your highness." She handed me my bag.
"Erm.. Second,here are all the books you have to read.A paper containing all things you have to do and your schedule. Normally a lady in waiting will be here to extract you and give all informations about the castle and other things..But…"
"No need to explain.I understand the circonstances."
A lady in waiting is a lady that serves a princess,queen,empress or a noble of very high status. This lady will be a personal secretary to the person she chose to serve.
A lady in waiting is typically a noble woman.
Since noble women have a strong pride,they like having a master that is a higher rank than their own or equal.
Since I'm a new princess,no one knows me. The decision to make me princess was unexpected. And plus, I was previously a commoner. So even though my rank now is a royal, they would still consider me as a peasant.
"So now,I will be your temporary lady in waiting." said Blossom.
"Oh, okay. I'm glad that at least I have someone.."
"Ah..Yes..Thank you for accepting me,your highness."
"Yes..Thank you for being here Blossom.You have been a great help."I smiled.
"Ah! Eum..Erm..It is my pleasure! W-well you better rest up princess! Excuse me then.."
"Alright,you may go." I said and closed the door. I went back to my bed.
"So many things have happened today.."I said and fell in deep slumber.
