Chapter 3: Run Away
My friend Sam stood in the doorway of my room. She was afraid I was going to try to drag her from the room.
"I'm not afraid because I don't know what's out there. I'm scared for different reason. I'm scared beacuse I do know what's out there. I know. . and I'm scared. That's why I can't leave. I just can't." Sam said
"Sam, it's ok. Someone will go with you. You won't be alone. Look I'm here for you." Alex said
"I know I need to be on my own. I mean, I know I can't live here forever. But can't I stay a little longer? Sam said
"Yes Sam you can stay here." Alex said
"You know, my Dad always beat me when he drunk and also my Mom. And I'm scared. Even on the street, everyone was drunk and drugged out, and they all wanted something. I don't know if I can describe it, but I don't think I was ever for an hour. I'm also scared when I was on the street." Sam said it

Sam look into Alex and Alex understood that Sam felt fear inside.
Sam had run to the streets to escape a dangerous life in their home.
But then reality of the street caught up with him.
After he left their home, he realize that he was completely alone.
Now he ask his self,
"Where am I going to sleep?"
"Can I make it on my own?"
"What I going to eat?"
"Is there anyone who cares?"
He's stomach ached, he was hungry. He desperately needed money, he had to do something.
It's also happens to other kids out there. Some of them are strongest ones, can somehow forget about it, where they never have to revisit again.

"I know what you feel Sam. I know how tough it can be going back out there. And we can take it a little slower, if you'd like." Alex said
Sam seemed to relax.
"Remember I want you to realize, it's different from now on. You're different now. When you go outside these doors again, it will not be the same world, and it will not be the same you. You will always know that I'm here for you no matter what." Alex said
Tears were beginning to form in his eyes.
"You're right." Sam said
He wiped away the tear that now streaming down her face.
"It is ok if I stay here tonight? I promise I'll be alright, just one night?" he asked
"Of course why not." Alex said
"Thank you." Sam said
I'm worried about Sam but I think he's going to do ok and I think he will make it.
