Chapter 195: Surprise (1)

"Sorry, guys. Took me longer than I expected." I mumbled an apology as soon as I stepped out of the building. 

I was hoping to find the two of them standing inside nearby the entrance, but all I saw after arriving there was the creepy gargoyles waiting for me. It was a good thing that I thought of checking the outside first before going to the central wing of the library. It saved me a lot of time. 

"Thank you so much." Amara was the first one to reply to me. She passed me a polite smile as she covered the distance between us. For a second or two, I was left stunned. The calm expressions on her face only made her look radiant. And the way her eyes glimmered under the pale yellow lights of the Sun, it only added more to her beauty. 

"It's fine." I managed to reply to her with my parched throat, hoping that she wouldn't notice it.
