Chapter 2: The Difference

Here in this place is there are two types of people. The ones who belong and the ones who don't. Here in this so called haven for people, I have found that someone of my skill is locked in a cell and kept away from the others. For the others safety.

They lied and told me it was for my safety too. With my skills I could need the protection. The wasted years I had been done here were becoming more and more all to clear. This was going on my second year. I had been struck in a place smaller then this elsewhere in the area here.

The area I was kept in, I had no idea the way around above ground. Below is where i seemed to stay and fit. Here and up there where two different places. One was warm and fuzzy, and mine which was the dark and cold one had nothing to keep me happy in.

"So, who should I pay for you taking care of me." His voice sounded.

He seemed to keep asking me the same things over and over again.

"Who do I pay? How much should I pay?"

I let it echo. I stood up and looked at him laying there as healed as I could get him. I turned and left him to the bed on his own. I heard the grunting of the other people there waking up and some falling asleep. I heard giggles from around the corner.

I was surprised to see a well dressed girl with red flowing hair standing there with a really almost white blond haired girl. They were wearing dresses of what seemed to be silk and lace. I didn't think they went together but on these two it did.

They noticed me and they pulled daggers out from under their clothes. They wanted to fight me? Or maybe they thought I wanted to fight them.

"Why is a prisoner out of the cell it was assigned?" The red hair girl asked me, she was stern looking with a frown on her face.

"What is one of them," I nodded and looked upwards, "doing in my territory?" I asked instead.

"Where looking for someone. You wouldn't be any chance have seen someone, male, tall and pale. Come down here. Would you have?"

"I'll ask again. What are you doing in my territory?" I glared at them, and they stepped back, almost into a line of defense.

"We are looking for a team member who was recently placed down here." The blond stated.

I smiled at them. It was the guy in my cell. Wonder what connections he had that got these girls in dresses to look for him?

"I can help you for a price." I negotiated.

"What kind of a price?" The Red haired girl asked.

"I want to be able to use your training equipment, once." I stated.

"What?" The Blond said.

"Why that?" The Red asked.

"The ones I use now, cant hold my level of power." I answered. They looked at me and relaxed. The laughed like it was a joke.

"If we don't?"

"I wont help you, if anything I'd be inclined to kill you." I smiled and turned part of it into a glare. Taunting them. Two against one should be easy, but what I asked for was nothing compared to the lives they were living. Caution on both the good and bad is a regular practice here. I see, so there not teaching them just nothing.
