An 18-year old teenage boy with short unruly dark brown hair, eyes the color of hazel, fair skin, and lean build, wearing the school's gym uniform walked out of the gym along with other students. He walked straight to the lockers where he took his folded school uniform out of his locker and started changing his clothes. He was in the middle of pulling his shirt up when someone slapped him on his back. Turning around, he glared at the person. "What did you do that for?"
Grinning sheepishly, the person replied, "Sorry 'bout that, Yuji." he paused. "Today's friday, wanna hang out with the others?"
"I can't." Yuji frowned and resumed changing his clothes.
"Ehhh... why?" the person was disappointed.
"You know why."
"But it's been a while since we last hang out."
"Doesn't matter. I can't go with you guys."
"Even for just an hour?"
"I really can't Shun."
"Come on.. Yuji..."
With a sigh, Yuji turned to face Shun. "I can't afford to hang out with you guys anymore. I'm sorry."
Shun stared at Yuji intently for a moment. "You don't even have days off your work." he frowned
"Yes, I do."
"But you spend it on tutoring!"
Yuji sighed. "My family is in dire need of money-"
"Then I can lend you money."
"No you don't understand." Yuji shook his head. "We can't have any more debts to others more than what we have now. Please... Shun. Understand that."
"Yuji..." Shun sighed. "Yeah. I understand. But, please... Take some time to rest. Don't overwork yourself."
Yuji smiled. "Thanks. Don't worry, I know when I need to rest.
"Good!"
Shun waited for Yuji to finish changing his shoes before going back to their classroom together.
Afternoon came and the class ended. Yuji hurried on tidying his things and rushed out of the classroom, not noticing Shun who was looking at him. Through the window, Shun saw Yuji running off towards the gate. "He must be getting late."
It took Yuji around 15 minutes before he arrived at a 24/7 fast food restaurant. He was gasping for air, waiting for him to calm a little before going inside. And once he did, his manager, a man in his 30's approached him.
"Fushima." said the manager.
"Boss... I'm so sorry if I'm late. My class let up late so-"
"No, no, no." the man shook his head and waved his hands. "You don't have to worry about that anymore, because you don't have a job here anymore."
"What!? I'm fired!?" exclaimed Yuji, garnering the attention of customers.
"Eh?" the man was surprised. "No! Not that! Geez... I mean... Your parents came here and said they found a better job for you. Said the pay is like 5-10 times your salary here."
"And you agreed to them?"
"Uhm... Yes...?" the man hesitated. "I mean, if I were you, I would've grabbed that opportunity."
"But the thing is, you're not me." Yuji frowned. "They probably got scammed again, which brought me here working if you remember."
"Ah, yes of course! I do remember your parents got scammed on an investment scam."
"You don't have to say it."
"But don't worry! They even have a signed contract."
"A contract? They signed a contract without asking me!? Ridiculous!"
"Well... you better go see your parents then. To clear up things."
"Yeah. Thanks for telling me this, boss! I'm off!"
With that said, Yuji run off again towards his house. It was not long before he reached his home. Not wasting anymore time, Yuji opened the door and went to the living room where both of his parents were sitting on the couch, seeming to be expecting him.
"Yuji, welcome back." said Yuji's mother, Ara. With her smiling face, she gestured for her son to take a seat.
"Father, mother. Is it true? You pulled me out of my job to take on another?"
Yamato, Yuji's father, replied. "Yes. It is true."
"But, why?"
Ara frowned a little. "Yuji, we really regret what happened to our business due to our negligence. But this time. This is different now."
"That's right." Yamato added. "Starting tomorrow you will work at Kaide's house as a nanny for the young master. The pay is much better! Meals and snacks are free. They will also provide you anything and everything you need. You can even name it. All they are asking is for you to take care of young master." he smiled.
"Did you say... Kaide?" Yuji got apprehensive.
"That's right!" replied Ara. "Isn't this a jackpot, right honey~" she leaned against Yamato, both were laughing.
'This is so fishy.' Yuji narrowed his eyes.
"By the way, we also pulled you out from your tutorials as the Kaide family will need you full time."
"Mother!?"
Ignoring her son's outburst, Ara said "Prepare your things, you will start tomorrow. And, there's no going back. Otherwise, we will pay 300,000." she showed the contract to her son.
Yuji took the paper and read. 'Scam! Definitely a scam!' he yelled in his mind.
No matter how much Yuji wanted to refused, he had no choice but to comply as he did not want to risk his family getting arrested and having to pay due to him not abiding by the contract signed by his parents and the Kaide family.
