Chapter 1: Back to Korea
"Mom hurry up we're going to be late to the airport! The plane is going to leave without me!" You shouted at your mom who was upstairs getting ready. Your Mom is supposed to drop you off at the airport but is usually running on her own time.
"I'm coming, I'm coming! Sorry honey I thought I set my alarm but I guess I didn't"
Your Mom rushed out the door with a piece of toast hanging out of her mouth. She locked the door and ran to the car.
On the way to the airport your Mom starting talking to you making sure this is what you really wanted to do.
"I know I keep asking but I just don't think it's a good idea. After the divorce you and your father haven't had the best relationship. It's been 11 years and he hasn't done anything and is barely in contact with you. And now all of a sudden he wants to offer you a job at his company back in Korea?! I will never understand men." Your mom said with a big sigh.
"Mom I know he hasn't been the best father lately but still. He was a good father before so he can be a good one again. And besides family deserves a second chance." You tried to sound confident but you were unsure of this whole situation yourself.
It was true that your father never showed any interest in you at all after he moved back to Korea. But in all honesty, you just graduated from college and could use a job.
You arrive at the airport and started saying your goodbyes to your mom.
"Mom I love you but I really have to go or else I'll miss the plane!" You said in a hurried tone.
"I know I'm sorry, just know that I love you, and make sure your careful out there ok?"
"Ok mom I'm leaving now, take care of yourself while I'm gone."
You waved goodbye to your mother and got on the plane.
