Chapter 35: A Story from the Past (Part 1)
When someone gets stronger, their rank in the universe naturally increases. The ranks were extremely simple but the difference between each rank was something unimaginable.
Unless someone was very special, he would start at the Mortal rank. The Mortal rank was composed of 80% of the entire multiverse.
After that, it came to the Transcendent rank. While the basis for becoming a Transcendent was just being strong enough, there are countless people stuck at the Mortal rank even though they are already stronger than some Transcendents. This mostly happened because they didn't know what they should try to do to achieve the rank up.
After someone Transcended, they could progress to the Lesser God rank. When someone achieves this rank, they could naturally go to the God's Realm. God's Realm could be seen as a super high-level cultivation world. Of course, it didn't only have cultivators. It had mages, runemasters, blacksmiths, etc
And finally, the High God rank, who needed a Lesser God to achieve a certain level of mastery in the control of life. At this level, someone would simply be at the peak of the universe. Being able to cross the universe easily and killing people with a thought.
No one could say they knew everything about the multiverse, however, there was one thing that everyone knew.
After Transcending, It is impossible to beat someone above your rank.
While Lesser Gods were way stronger than Transcendents, this wasn't the reason for this fact.
But because the Multiverse wouldn't allow it.
If a Transcendent tried attacking a Lesser God, the Multiverse would block the attack automatically. This also happened when a Lesser God attacked a High God.
But two people went against this simple fact.
*Somewhere in God's Realm, 1000+ Years ago*
It was a story from over a thousand years ago. Back then, two men appeared at the same place and time when they achieved the Lesser God rank.
There were naturally, many places one could appear at the God's Realm, that's why the High Gods made a way that people would only appear at cities with a special building that would receive people who ascended to the God's Realm.
While a Lesser God ascending isn't the rarest of sights, it is still something you couldn't see every time. Thus the two people attracted attention.
Two men, one clad in a majestic golden armor that didn't allow anyone to see anything inside, and the other, an ordinary-looking young human male wearing casual clothes.
The young-looking god had a mocking smile on his face as if he didn't care about his surroundings and was only looking at the man clad in armor.
When people paid attention to them, they noticed that both of them were bloody with countless wounds and staring at each other and getting ready to fight.
The people responsible for the city naturally understood. Those two ranked up while fighting each other.
It was truly a rare sight but not something that happened for the first time.
While it was just two newly ranked Lesser Gods, everyone knew better than underestimate someone who could achieve Lesser God rank.
Thus, the one responsible for the city, a newly ranked High God, went to stop them before they fought.
Little did he know that in the future when people thought about this innocent High God who was only doing his job, they couldn't help but shake their heads in pity.
High Gods were the peak of the existence that everyone knew, naturally, they were arrogant.
Even this newly promoted one wasn't an exception. Thus, he wasn't willing to lose too much time with two Lesser Gods.
''I don't care about your animosity, follow the guards and answer every question asked, or else yo-''
The High God quickly appeared floating in the air while saying that. Everyone thought that with him saying that, the newbies would just obey and follow the guards.
But the man couldn't even finish his words when the Lesser God clad in golden armor waved his hand.
Instantly, his soul was attacked by millions of differents attacks and he blanked out for a second.
That second was way more than enough for the two people to attack the High God.
The people around only felt pity and mockery for the two of them.
''A duo of countryside idiots, HAHAHA''
''A pity, becoming a Lesser God meant they had talent but they are just killing themselves...''
Among the already thousands of people, there were mortals, transcendents, lesser gods, and even other High Gods.
And not a single one of them thought that the two people could hurt the High God. They thought that the High God just didn't react because it wasn't necessary.
Forget about their strength, even if they were the strongest Lesser Gods, they would never be able to hurt a High God!
Nonetheless, they were still paying extreme attention, it wasn't as if you could see Lesser Gods getting humiliated every day...
The young-looking God released an extreme killing intent, the killing intent was so strong that the other High Gods had to protect even the Lesser Gods around.
The killing intent took form as a bunch on enormous tentacles with extremely sharp tips.
Yes! The killing intent was so strong that it took a physical form!
While the man clad in armor sent a simple-looking laser from his fingertips!
The High Gods around thought that those two were extremely strong, even the simple-looking beam could kill a Lesser God instantly!
The beam pierced the High God heart, shocking everyone around.
But after that, something even more shocking happened.
The huge tentacles made of killing intent all hit the High God from every spot around him.
All that remained from the strong and mighty High God was a bloody pulp.
The protection coming from the universe that everyone was expecting never appeared.
After that, the two people looked blankly in front of them, as if something extremely amazing was in front of them.
Suddenly, both turned around and faced the crowd, while they couldn't see the face of one of them, everyone could see the greed filling the young-looking man eyes!
''A load of EXP!!!''
Both of them lunged forward, targeting both the Transcendents, Lesser Gods and High Gods and ignoring anything else.
After a while, the remaining people could only look blankly around...
All Transcendents? Dead!
Lesser Gods? Super dead!
High Gods? Mega dead!
That was the first day of the legends of the two aberrations who had the entire Multiverse as their game map.
