Chapter 18: Jewel

Splatter.

Ink splattered onto a flimsy paper, but the owner was satisfied with the outcome as they stared at the lines intersecting thousands upon thousands of times.

"This is good enough...", the owner spoke with a soft silvery voice wiping away a piece of golden hair.

"I wonder how she's doing.", there was a hint of melancholy within her voice as she stared out of the window and into the horizon. As she was watching a flock of birds sped past the window shattering it into pieces.

Sigh...

"Is this an omen...", this was the 562nd time the window had shattered since Ireya had left.

She had an uneasy feeling within her as she picked up the glass piece by piece, her fragile fingers grasping upon each shattered glass.

"It's been a bit more than four years now... When will she come back...?", but then her face froze.

"Don't tell me I forgot!", she shot up from her seat and ran all around looking for the piece of jewelry she believed to have given to her daughter.

"Where is it!", her shout echoed through the house but was met with silence.

Cling...

"Is this what you're looking for?", a man stood at the door holding an exquisite token within his palm.

BOOM!

A malevolent force broke out of her, hair flew everywhere and a dark red hand slowly seeped through the floor. This was a side of her she hadn't shown to many people, but today she was willing to show it all for the sake of her daughter.

Bam!

The hand shot forth towards the man hoping to take the jewelry back.

Slap.

His palm smacked towards the hand, shattering it into nothing. No, that palm wasn't simple, it contained many laws of the universe within it, crack... Light suddenly seeped in through the ceiling.

And then the house split in half.

"That token...", her voice turned deep and raspy amid her anger, "Was meant to lead her back to me! What have you done!"

Before she finished speaking a demonic figure appeared behind her back, a scythe slowly came up from hell, with fresh blood dripping from it.

The man smirked at her, "Taken her from you, that's what I've done."

And then he disappeared.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!", her golden hair exploded into blood, all of the citizens of the city began dropping down onto their knees one by one.

The children turned pale first, the blood within them slowly seeping out of their foreheads, just as they began to die...

Clang!

A holy light rang on her forehead, the light expanded beyond the room and made the sky seep with its presence, a voice came alongside it from the depths of the light.

"Relax my wife, our daughter isn't weak..."

---

Her hand stretched towards Silent Eruption, she easily passed through the barrier and took it out.

"That easy?", but then she looked down at her token and saw that the number had been reduced from 2000 to 0.

"You can't take anything out unless you want to purchase it, that's why I stopped you from trying to take both at the same time in the first place. Otherwise, you would have been blown into pieces."

A shiver ran down her spine as she listened to the man talk when she turned to thank him he was already gone.

"Such a weird old man..."

"Hey, Ireya!", Raya came running at her.

"What's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry?", Ireya asked.

"I came to warn you to not take cer-"

"Oh, are you talking about this?", Ireya picked up the paper which represented Silent Eruption and dangled it in front of Raya.

Watching her dangle the exact thing she was planning to warn her about Raya had many things on her mind, the first thing was to strangle her, the second was to kill her and the third was to strangle her after she had died.

"I'm not even going to bother, let's just got.", Raya was already tired of all of Ireya's antics, she wasn't bothered to even warn her anymore.

Raya took Ireya to the counter on the ground floor and they both gave in the papers they had brought with them, "What did you exchange for Raya?"

"Secret.", she said with a sneaky smile on her face.

"Okay then mines a secret too.", Ireya pouted.

"I already know though.", she laughed.

"Hmph.", Ireya ignored her and waited for the receptionist to arrive back with their manuals.

After 20 minutes she finally made it back with two manuals, she handed Raya one of the books and came to Ireya and left a few morbid words, "I'll be there during your funeral young lady..."

"Hahaha!", Raya laughed her guts out once she heard this.

Ireya pulled a face at them then walked off.

The two then left the city and returned to the Swift Sword Pavilion, "Take this chance to cultivate the Spiritual Cultivation Technique, I need to purify my heart, bye."

Ireya watched as Raya parted ways with her, once she left she returned to her room and rested on the bed for a little bit to collect all of her thoughts.

'Time to practice.'

She sat up on her bed and began reading the manual for Silent Eruption.

Opening up the first page she saw a half of a word, she opened it up completely so it expanded to two linked pages.

"Burst!", it was a simple word, but the presence of something within it seemed to dance around this word. No, not dance, it was fighting.

Suddenly she found herself within an empty world with nothing but a plain white room.

"What is this place?", while she was speaking a bright light expanded from the horizon, it approached her ever so slowly.

She backed off immediately trying to place distance between them but no matter how much she ran she couldn't run away further.

"Why are you running? This is your world...", a soothing voice echoed from the distance.

Hearing this voice brought back many memories to Ireya's mind, many of which sucked but all of them she cherished.

"Daddy? Is that you?", she waited and watched as the light grew closer.

"Correct.", the light stopped, from the midst of it a figure appeared.

It was an elegant young man with beautiful golden hair, with fingers just like a dignified young lady, it was Seven Swords.

"Daddy!", her feet burst with utmost power, and with a loud bang, she flew towards him.

But no matter how much she flew she couldn't get closer.

"Relax Ireya, you won't be able to come to me."

She bit her lips as she stopped, "But why."

"I don't belong in your mind if I get any closer I could cause changes to your mentality and influence your future.", he patiently explained to his daughter.

"I see you tried learning Silent Eruption, that's not too easy you know?"

"I know, but I have to do this to find you again, if I'm too weak I'll never get to see you again will I.", he listened to the sadness within her voice and sighed, this was out of his hands too.

"I'll leave you with some help, I can't stay for much longer, your mind is still too weak to handle my presence. Goodbye."

He gave her a final look and slowly turned, stepping into the mesmerizing light.

"Daddy wait!", she stretched out her arms after him but her efforts were deemed useless.

His figure disappeared before her eyes once again.

The moment he left a giant door was left in the sky, a vast golden door the size of an entire city just stood there, towering above her like a judge passing its absolute law.

"How can...", she could understand seeing a giant beast that was born naturally but for such a giant door to appear out of nowhere...

Even she was astounded by the sight, lines of words slowly appeared from the bottom up.

Looking closely she could only make out the first line, "This is!", a lengthy description of what this word meant followed close behind, even then it didn't go into too much detail.

"Make my path? An eruption of all of my understandings? This is what this Technique is?"

She fell into deep comprehension as she continued absorbing the words on the door, but even after what seemed like years she could only understand 5% of the first line, "This is so difficult!", if she compared this to her Sword Technique then her Sword Technique would be an utter joke.

Her lips curled up in satisfaction, everything so far had been so easy, the sight of something difficult excited her.

Suddenly the lights all around her began to fade away, she remained calm as the bright room turned dark. She closed her eyes then opened them back up, she was still sat on her bed with the manual opened to the word 'Burst!' written on the front, the only difference being that it was morning already.

She grew drowsy when she tried standing up, "Huh...", then she collapsed falling into a deep sleep.

Her hair lay on the pillow spread out like a fan, if you looked closely you could see a hint of pink at the very end.

But this pink seemed to be expanding at this very moment, it was expanding like a sentient being, sending portions of pink up the side then surrounding the black hair and devouring it.

The expansion was occurring but at a very slow pace.
