Chapter 9: We Didn't Get CP Again!?
On the first day of June, Shinji woke up like usual. He checked out his phone and was surprised to see that he didn't get his points.
'So they reported it to the school huh... I guess I'll have to take care of class C sooner than I thought I'll need...'
He made himself a cup of coffee, a simple breakfast, and headed out. Outside of his room, his 'girlfriend', Kei Karuizawa, was waiting for him.
"Good morning, Shinji-Kun!" she exclaimed happily and locked arms with him
"Good Morning, Kei. It's unusual for you to wait for me out of my room. Did something happened?"
"It's just that... we did earn points from the midterms, right?"
"Of course we did! We earned 90cp. Why are you asking?"
"I didn't get my points today!"
"Is that so? I guess we'll have to ask Sensei about it when we arrive" Shinji said as they entered the elevator. Suzune already was inside the elevator as they entered
"Good morning, Horikita-San" Shinji greeted with a warm smile. When Suzune didn't greet him back, he just smiled bitterly. However, it didn't take him too much time to see that there is some kind of tension between Kei and Suzune, so he asked Kei:
"What is wrong with you two?"
"It's nothing. I just don't like her" Kei said with a grumpy expression. They stood in silence as the elevator moved down. When the elevator stopped, Suzune quickly went out.
"And here she goes"
"Don't mind her. Let's go!" said Kei and started to pull him
"Shinji-Kun!" Shinji heard a familiar voice calling him, and turned to the side and saw Honami coming out of another elevator
"Ichinose-San! Good morning!" Shinji said
"Good morning! Good morning to you too, Karuizawa-San!"
"Good morning..." Kei said in a grumpy tone, as she looked with jealousy at Honami's chest bouncing with her movements
"Did you guys get your points today?" asked Honami
"You didn't get too? I thought it might be a problem with our class, but even other classes didn't get their points..."
"Why is this happening?" asked Kei
"Don't worry. I'm sure Sensei will explain everything"
"Will she? That bitch already hid information from us before"
"Chabashira-Sensei hid information from you?" asked Honami in surprise
"Don't worry. I talked with her and she won't do it anymore" said Shinji
"You are the best, Shinji-Kun!" said Kei and tightened her grip on his arm. For a second, Honami had a grim expression, as she looked at Kei arm locked with Shinji's arm before she smiled again and said:
"Well, I need to get to my class and see if my classmates are the same!" said Honami and walked away
"We need to hurry too!" said Kei and pulled him by his arm, as Shinji thought:
'And here she goes... as I thought, it'll be tough to make her mine when she thinks I'm Kei's boyfriend... and I don't want to give up on her just yet since she's class B's leader. From what I saw until now, class B is the easiest class to cooperate with, so I can't give up an opportunity to get an ally within class B... especially if it's their leader. Of course, the fact she's hot is a big bonus~'

After they arrived in the classroom, everyone was worried about their points, and no one had an answer to why did that happen. Finally, Sae arrived and everyone quickly sat down, after she said she has news about their points
"There is an issue. The distribution of points to the first-year's has been delayed" said Sae. Hearing that, numerous students started complaining
"There is nothing I can do about it. When the problem will resolve, the points will distribute. Assuming you'll have points left"

Shinji was walking towards the back of the gymnasium. Honami messaged him to go there alone after school. As he arrived, he saw a nervous-looking Honami looking back at him.
"I'm sorry for calling you out like this" Honami said with a nervous expression
"It's fine. So, what do you want, that you made me come all the way here? It's unusual for you to ask to speak to me privately" Shinji said with a warm smile
"The thing is... I think that I... might get confessed here!" Honami exclaimed, blushing
"... Just to make sure, you don't mean I'll confess to you, right?" Shinji said with a questioning expression
"What!? No, that's not what I meant!" said a flustered Honami
"I'm joking. But if you're about to get confessed, am I supposed to be here?"
"It's just that I have no experience in dating. I found a love letter in my locker yesterday, but I don't feel the same way, and I don't want to hurt them!"
"So what? You wanted me to pretend to be your boyfriend? You are aware that I'm dating Kei, right?" Shinji asked while thinking:
'What is it with girls in this school and fake dating?'
"I thought we could say that you secretly broke up and now we're dating..."
"You said you didn't want to hurt them, right? This will just hurt them more"
"Huh?" said a surprised Honami, and then Shinji heard a noise behind him and saw the girl who's always around Honami, Chihiro Shiranami
"Ichinose-San and Shinji-San?"
"I'm sorry I brought Shinji-Kun here without telling you! It's just that Shinji-Kun..."
"Is he your boyfriend?" said Chihiro as tears formed in her eyes
"He's my-"
"Friend. Ichinose-San was just nervous about the letter you gave her, and she asked me for advice" Shinji told Chihiro and then turned to look at Honami
"Ichinose-San, do you know how hard is it to confess? You're collecting all of you're courage, and risking ruining your relationship. As someone experienced, I can tell you that the best way to handle a confession is by being true to your feelings and tell your honest answer" Shinji said, to a shocked Honami, who then put on a sad expression
"Well, I think that my part is over, so I'll take my leave now" Shinji said and walked away.
Shinji walked to a nearby bench, and waited for them to finish.
While he waited he received a message from the school:
"You received 0pp, due to your class points put on hold for an indefinite time"
Seeing this message, Shinji simply grinned and called Kiyotaka:
"Hello?"
"Kiyotaka, send me the photos and the recording"
"Okay, but the recording is on a recording device"
"Then, I'll come to your room to pick it up"
"Okay..." Kiyotaka said, and Shinji hanged up
After a few minutes, he saw Chihiro running away while crying, and a few seconds later, Honami came
"So? How did it go?"
"We said that we'll try to go back to normal tomorrow"
"I see. In the end, you handled it well"
"Only because you showed me the right way..." Honami said with a sad smile
"You give me too much credit. After all, I ran away from the conversation to not get more involved"
"It doesn't matter. You still helped me, and I'm thankful for it" Honami said and bowed
"Don't sweat it. We are friends after all" Shinji said and patted her head, making her blush
"Check your phone when you'll get back. The points were supposed to be distributed by now" Shinji said and walked away
