Pet : universally refer to an animal that was kept for pleasure, and entertainment. An animal that was taken care of, provided food and shelter. Some people have dog to guard their home, some have cat to catch mouses. However, this story have define the word pet differently. So what does it mean then?
Let me show you some example:
"You are my pet now.....hahaha"
If this is a romance novel, and the male lead said this phrase, we can tell that the guy have already fallen for the girl. He just doesn't know how to bring the girl closer to him, so he's using bad tactics to get the girl attention. The male lead would use many tricks to tease the female lead daily until she get use to it and will miss the male lead if he stops teasing her or disappear.
But.....if it's only a Romance novel. Because there's a person who could define and use the word "Pet" in the most correct and direct way possible. That person is Macron Talelira, crown prince of balwria country.
"Master, you really plan to chain my neck?"
"You're a pet! If I don't use chain, what else would I use to keep you?"
"Then why princess Yuri have a diamond collar?"
" Because Yuri is the dog that was given to this prince from princess in the neighbor country. And you're not a dog."
Aw...I'm so happy I almost cry. At least, I'm still a human in his eyes...
" you're a pig and have to eat pig food for meal"
"What?"
"Specific pet have to eat certain food.....hey, This prince show you much mercy already. I haven't accounted you for making this prince missed the first day of school"
His stares making me feel so small, like an ant that would die instantly if he raised his hand. This person can do exactly what he said!
I have heard of his name before, but never once I think that I would meet the person like this. He's second in line to the throne, and will be king in the future, even though he doesn't have support from the citizens. The rumor of his tyrannic personality and that he is gay might be one of the reasons and It's his pretty face that surplus girls which convince most people.
Wow....gay, his type of attitude is a definite, making many people become pig.
Living here is a sure road to death sooner or later. They said living with king is like living with tiger, but living with this guy is like living with the king of hell. It's the matter of time that he's going to take my soul, I must find a way to escape!
"Little pig"

"This prince has capture your dad and keep him in capital jail under the crime of stealing"
"Huh??"
"Let me rephrase this, I have soldier captured your father to be a pet like you, have him guarantee that you wouldn't escape. Luckily, the police was arresting him when we found your father, so I add more charges on his case and have him sentenced to 20 years in jail."
"Master! Why would you do that?!"
"If you run away, you father will rot in jail"
He speaks like he can hear my thoughts, this prince is too hard to deal with. He doesn't kill you now, just to keep you living in an even worse case. Living is hard, die also not an option, I have no way to escape now.
"Why aren't you saying anything?"
"...."
"Too much that you want to kill this prince?"
Laugher that come from the extreme satisfaction do really make me want to strangle him to death. Even if I'm a thief, I've never kill anyone, but this devil prince...he's eligible to receive this honor!!!
"I laughed till my throat dry now, you can go to rest now. When I feel like playing with you, this prince will call you."
"Sleeping place? I have good fortune like this?"
"of course, I have people make your sleeping arrangement already. There're surveillance cameras capturing your every move."
"Video camera?"
"It's like a foreign reality show or you can think of yourself as the famous panda in China, letting people take picture of you. I'm doing the same thing so that you won't belittle yourself as my pet."
"You're just making sure I won't escape, right?"
"Do you have a passport?"
"Can I eat that?"
"It means that you don't! You should abandon any escape thought cause there is no place in the country that you can hide from me. I will always find you!"
"And if I hide in the sewer!"
"It might be the only place that I won't drag you back out....if you decide to live in there for the rest of you life."
His handsome face come close and smile charmingly, which make my heart beat in a weird rhythm.
"Soldier, take her back." The stupid prince actually put chain on my neck and have men walk me.

Arriving at my sleeping place
"Wtf.....this is not where one can sleep, this is....."
"Pig cage"
Soldiers bring me to the sleeping space that the prince instructed, and my legs went weak, falling down to the floor. I just want to cry out loud like a 2 years old.
"Just holding the prince's dog, you have to treat me like this?"
"Because the dog that you hold is Prince Macron's dog"
"...."
"Don't cry, you have to accept that it's your karma...I suggest that you get up and go to rest, then eat to gain energy, so you can face what's coming tomorrow."
"Well.....at least there's food.....No no no no"
I almost fainted when I saw the food. The crazy prince told me to eat like a pig, he really send pig food! Pig food! Waaah.....!
"Why are you so shock?"
"I can't eat this! This is pig food, and I'm a human!"
"You are the one who go hugging the prince's leg, begging to be his pet instead of beheaded!!"
"I think I'd rather be dead than eat pig food."
"....."
"What about that wig-wearing dog? Does it eat pig food like me?"
"Steak"
"You should give the same treatment."
"You're a pig, and princess Yuri is a dog"
"Waaaah"
"If you don't want to stay like this, the best option is to run away. You will definitely be caught though! The country just install surveillance cameras everywhere for safely purposes, so there's really no way you can escape, unless you go live in the sewer."
"If you're going to suggest like this, better not tell me anything."
"Other option is your death or Prince Macron's death. It would be harder to wait for the prince to pass since there's no soldier in this palace that would let any harm near him. As for you, it's also hard since you're the special pet that being monitor 24/7 as being instructed by the prince."
".....special pet, then why am I being treated like a pig?"
"Special....like, specially hating you"
"Waaaah"
"Just accept your fate, then you don't have to worry too much."
Then the soldier push me into the pig cage, and walk away. I can only hold on to the cage and stare at the food with tears falling down.
There's a fortune-teller that predict that this year is my bad year, no luck, everything is a downfall. Who would have thought that I actually come to meet this mentally ill prince. Sigh...
Crack'....
Sounds coming from between the wood floors, making my crying session come to a paused. A bread was wrap so thick with a writing on top that said 'don't let the camera see it'.
I hurriedly take the bread and hide in the shirt, while turning my back to avoid the camera, before checking to see who is the sender. A soldier that brought me here earlier, with his back facing me walk rushingly toward the exit while his hand waved at me cause he knows I was watching.
"God have mercy, I won't forget your help adorable soldier and I also won't forget your devil boss that put me here in the first place as well, you crazy prince."
Oh my pitiful life.....with the status of a prince, why do you have to treat a poor woman like me this way? Can't you have mercy and let me go home? You have to capture my father as well.....you really want me to die like this?
Just you wait....!
One day I will find a way to kill you....for the good and happiness of all the citizens in the country! Just you wait!
