Chapter 15: Familia's Regalia (1)
Bell then reminisced the time when a monster killed his grandfather on the mountains as he also might get killed by a monster. His grandfather went to a valley too deep for them to reach and this sudden realisation made Bell into an adventurer.
Bell then arrived at the city of Orario but was rejected by all of the familia that he tried to join because of his appearance and build. Bell kept on receiving harsh words from the other adventurers that already belong to a familia but it didn't discouraged him and he still persevered to search for a place to belong to.
Then when he thought all hope was lost, he met Hestia. "Those were good and peaceful days" thought Bell as he took out his spare dagger that might not last for a strike against that armored monster.
The news that monsters have escaped from their bestiary then reached the ears of Ganesia, "some monsters escaped?!" he said as Ganesia stood up from his seat and faced his Servants.
"What about the guards?" he asked. "It seems like they've fainted from pleasure" said one of the man in elephant mask as he remembered the faces of the guards with smiles all over their faces.
"It's possible that they're taken in by surprise" said the second man. "We can worry about that later! How many monsters have escaped?" asked Ganesia because monsters going rampant in the festival would mean lots of people are going to get hurt.
"Nine! Forces have already been sent to subdue them!" said the second man. "They won't be able to do it alone. We'll need to get help from other familias. Go and beg for assistance from the other gods here" said Ganesia as he pointed at the crowd of people around the coliseum.
"Wait. Do you realize it was our familia's fault that the monsters escaped? Think of what'll happen to our public image if we did that!" said the second man. "I am Ganesia, the lord of the masses. Our familia's duty is to bring happiness to everyone. Leave behind your foolish pride and honor!" said Ganesia because people's lives are more important than their public image.
"Our priority should be the lives of people!" said Ganesia as he stared at his two Servants. "Forgive us, sir!" bowed the two as they went and begged other gods to help them subdue the escaped monsters.
"What are they after?" thought Ganesia because the person behind this must have a motive for causing such a disturbance. "A diversion? Confusion? Or perhaps..." thought Ganesia as he observed the audience at the coliseum.
At the top of a building, the person who let the monsters roam free was smiling as she watched Bell heading straight onto his death. "Don't disappoint me now, little rabbit" she laughed.
Bell was then currently engaged in a deadly duel with the monster. "goddess..." thought Bell as his spare dagger was shattered to pieces after blocking one of the monster's attack. Hestia then tried her best to break out of the gate and after a few minutes she got out and took out the weapon Hephaestus had made for Bell.
"Listen, Hestia. The runes on this weapon gave it a status of its own. That weapon is alive." said Hephaestus as Hestia remembered it very well. "Once in that kid's possession its power will grow and awaken with him" these are the words Hephaestus had said before Hestia left the workshop.
"Bell-kun" thought Hestia as she ran with all her might in the direction where Bell is fighting the monster. "Is that true!" said Eina as she spoke to a fellow worker. "Yes! Someone from the Ganesia Familia said that monsters broke free from the West gate!" said the female worker.
"You're too loud. Do you want to cause a panic?" said Eina as she shushed her fellow worker. "I'm sorry. Anyways, they're looking for any adventurer that they can find to help subdue the monsters" said the female worker in a much lower voice.
"But it's unlikely that anyone would be here..." said Eina then suddenly someone spoke. "Oh does someone needs our help?" she said. "Did something happen?" said the girl as she pinched another woman's finger.
"Sword Princess?" said the female worker. "Aiz Wallenstein" said Eina in surprise. Bell who was busy fighting the monster decided to ran away from it for now because his dagger just got shattered by the mosnter again. The monster then swiped his fists towards Bell that made the chains attached to it hit the ground making Bell tumble so did the monster.
The monster immediately stood up and slashed again with the chains attached to its hands. Bell managed to dodge to the side but the mere shock wave was enough to slam him towards a corner. "I wonder if she got away safely" thought Bell as he gazed at the monster looking down at him for the kill.
"Aiz isn't coming this time, isn't she?" said Bell as he stood up one last time and stared at the monster deep in the eyes. "Farewell...goddess" thought Bell as he accepted his death. Suddenly a voice called out to him, "Bell-kun!"
"No...why? Why did you come back!" yelled Bell as she stared at Hestia still holding that weapon he was so curious about. The monster then immediately changed its attention as it ran towards her. Bell followed it immediately despite being gravely wounded.
"goddess!" yelled Bell as he dashed in front of Hestia and used his body to block the monster's attack that made them tumble into a stair leading down. They kept on rolling and crashed into a wooden door, breaking it apart.
"Are you okay, goddess?" asked Bell as he stared at the person in his embrace. "Yeah, I think so" smiled Hestia like they're not in danger. "What are you doing here? I told you to run away! Why?" said Bell as he sat and grabbed Hestia's shoulders.
"You really are hopeless aren't you. There's no way I'd run if it meant leaving you behind" smiled Hestia as she gave Bell the weapon. "It's too early to give up, Bell-kun" smiled Hestia then the monster arrived behind her.
"Excuse me, goddess!" said Bell as he carried Hestia like a princess while she holds the katana. Bell and Hestia then went to a place where the monster wouldn't see them for the time being.
The monster then passed them by, "you're the one he's after goddess. It's only a matter of time till he finds us" said Bell. "Then let's change our plan, instead of running you'll beat that monster!" said Hestia with confidence as he handed Bell the weapon that she's holding on for a very long time now.
"This is..." asked Bell as he unsheathed the weapon revealing a pure black blade hidden within that blue scabbard. "It's your...no, our weapon. I call it...Shinki!" said Hestia with a smile.
