Hearing the door open brought him back to the present. Here are the sheets and everything else you should need max so I'll just sit it on the bed for you. Once i shower would you like to go out and have dinner with me Cassidy? You Aunt said you really haven't eaten anything since you got the call a week ago about your dad being sick and back in the hospital and I thought you might need a shoulder to cry or or maybe just an old friend that will listen.
Let's get one thing straight max we are not friends and haven't been in four years but yes i would like to go out to dinner with you. Give me an hour to get cleaned up. After being at the hospital for a week I could use a good hot soak in the tube myself, with that cassidy walked out of the bedroom.
As she shut the door a smile came across Max's face. Maybe now I can figure out what went wrong between us but max knew he had to take it nice and slow with cassady because she had been through a lot this past week.
Finding out that her dad's cancer was back and he didnt tell her and then six days later he died. Max felt bad for Cassidy because he knew what it was like to lose a parent since he lost both of his at the age of sixteen. He missed cassidy the past four years and in the time he had not felt the same way for another woman like he still felt for her.
Thinking of that he picked up his cell and called Simone to tell her he didn't know when he'd be back but he would call her soon. Simone was your typical high maintenance woman who wanted to be the center of everyone's world. She was screaming on the phone about how they had plans and he better get home now or she would leave. Max had heard enough he needed to be here for Cassidy right now not listening to Simone complain.
You know what Simone i have had enough of your demands. I'm needed here at the moment and if you don't like that, then the only thing i can say is for you to pack your stuff and be out of my house by the end of the week. My assistant will be by tomorrow to get my ring from you before Simone could say another word Max said goodbye and ended the call.
His next call was to his assistant allison to have her go by the house to get his ring from Simone and overnight it to him. He ended the call and instead of feeling bad for the way he ended things with simone all max could think of was the distraught look on Cassidy's face when he went up to her room to check on her.
Cassidy had looked deep in thought and he wondered what she was thinking about. As he mauled over his thoughts he realized he needed to get moving or he would be late. Once in the shower his thoughts once again went to cassidy but this time he felt the burning in his groin just imagining her in the shower with him and soaping her all up from head to toe.
Cassidy was taking a nice long soak and she couldn't help remembering all the good times her and Max had so long ago but then it switched to that one horrible day when her life took a nosedive. He didn't love her, he only asked her to marry him because of the money promised to him by her father.
HI Cassidy max had said. Cassidy couldn't even look him in the face without getting mad. Max i cant marry you this just isn't right for me. This relationship is over and with that being said she turned and went into the house leaving max standing thee shocked looking at the ring she placed in his hand. Back inside the house she found Damion in his study. Dad, I'm not marrying max Cassidy said as she entered the room. Damion turned to face his daughter. What did you just say Damion demanded to know. I said I am not marrying max Cassidy repeated herself. Why did he ask? It's none of your business that is between me and max and no one else. I'm also leaving and going to stay with aunt Sylvia and with that she went to her room.
That day was the last time she had seen her dad until she got the call stating he was in the hospital and his prostate cancer was back.
