Chapter 17: Chapter 16
"When you say that there will be those who will use me against him, do you mean his half brother Otto? Will that also be the other gods working against him too?"
"Yes, Hades and Zeus's son Ares, they were working together to get rid of those that were born to be half gods, demigods. Especially those born with powers like Aeolus. You must be carful my dear for there will not just be gods but other mortals who would use you for their own dark purpose."
"Can you give me anymore information that will prepare me for when I turn up in the past?"
"Yes, I can tell you some things that won't alter the past or future. When you do arrive in the past, it will during the storm, that's where I will find you on the beach. I remember bringing you back to the main temple where there were other priest and priestess lived at the time. I brought you to a room and had you rest so you could regain your strength after the storm. Once you recovered, I was able to figure out that you weren't from my time, and that you were more than meets the eye. That you also have the gift.
When you regained your health you were able to tell me how you ended up in the past. You were on a boat when the storm came in and your necklace the stone reacted when it sensed you were in danger. That you thought of Aeolus, and the stone glowed bright green and one minuet you were in your time on this boat and the next on the beach in the past. The storm sent you back to the past, protecting you by sending you to my time.
We told the others who lived there at the temple that you were my niece for I knew that if others found out who you really are and they would take advantage of you. To protect you I didn't even tell Aeolus about you, because before he meet you and fell in love with you he was a different person.
Being born under a dark moon, his birth was consider a curse, and his with his mother dying in child birth he had a rough start to life. Since he was the son of the god Poseidon, and born with gifts he and was expected at a young age to become powerful like his father. There was a lot to be expected from him, and when he was old enough to learn how to fight and defend himself his father came to take him away to be trained. He was gone for years, training to become a warrior, and how to control his powers. When he was done with his training he eventually would go and fight many battles, and he would lead his men to win many of those battles and eventually would became a great warrior.
He was a harden by fighting battles, while being away for so long he became distant and when he finally came back home he was changed. Some of his men that he lead during the years were very loyal to him and would follow him anywhere and some of them came back with him to Naxos. The two most closest of his men were Xander and Cyrus. Both knew of Aeolus being half god but that didn't change how they saw him, they all trusted each other. You can trust both of them, both of them loyal to the end. Aeolus trusted them with his life and with yours.
Even though Aeolus was a changed man he still showed that he cared for those that he knew, and would help those who in need. When he did returned home to the island and saw the people suffering under the previous king's rule that he had to help them. That's when he disposed king Dorian, and the guards and the people who lived and worked at the palace kneeled before him and asked Aeolus to be their king. They knew who he was, they had heard of him and of his many battles that he had won. Also, that being the son of Poseidon the god that they worshiped he was consider their savior. From having a tyrant who disrespected their god and let their people suffer for it was no king of theirs.
Knowing who trust also while in the past is very important, you can trust into a few. Cyrus and Xander are trustworthy. Also there a few people in the palace you can trust as well but you must be carful in the past. There will be those who will want to use you for your gift, and there are those working against you and Aeolus as well. Remember the necklace will probably is what will transport you to the past. When it happens it will be when you are in danger and the stone senses it. If that is the case you must think of Aeolus and the stone will send you to him."
"I'm sorry this is just so much to take in. I just can't believe all of this. If i understand all of this, I am going into the ancient past, that I need to watch out for those who will use me and would want to hurt Aeolus, that I will eventually meet and fall in love with him? You're saying that I could end up in the past sometime while I am here, in a boat when this storm hits?"
"Yes, for what I remember you arrived during the storm, when it was the autumn equinox, and it was right after the festival where the whole island celebrating the bountiful harvest we had that season. I found you on the beach below the main temple. You look like you do now, defiantly the same age, so it may very well happen in the next few weeks."
"It's nearly the end of summer now, and if it's during the autumn equinox that's only a short time away. The date will it will fall on which is September 21st of this year. So I only have a few weeks left before I am to travel to the past? I thought I would have some time to process all this and not happening so fast?"
"I'm so sorry, if there was another way I could have told you all of this I would my dear. I wish this was an easier way about telling you all of this." Actaea leaned over and took Maera's hand in her's and gave it a squeeze. "I know you couldn't have gone another way about everything. You did the right thing in telling me. Now I know what to expect if I really am to end up in the ancient past. I know who to trust and what will eventually happen. Now I just have to keep an eye out for this storm that's supposed to happen in a few weeks, and that it will send me to the past?"
"Yes, the stone in the necklace will react and it will send you into the past. If this is to happen, you must think of him of Aeolus for it to send you to the right place and time. Remember the stone is alive and very powerful. It will also sense others like half gods such as Aeolus and other demigods, and senses other objects that were foraged by the gods that are dangerous if end up in the wrong hands. Such as the blade that was forged on mount Olympus, the very blade that Otto will use to kill Aeolus. Knowing what will happen, and knowing the information of what will prepare you for what is to come."
" With this information that you told me, with my knowledge of studying the ancient past, my gift of sight and the love of a warrior man that I will have, should be enough to see me though of all this. It's weird for a long time I've been having visions of a warrior and myself standing on the beach together and I feel nothing but love and feeling safe with him would be a real person, it will be Aeolus."
"Yes it will and I know that you are strong enough to face this." She smiled at her and then Actaea leaned in to hug her. "Take the necklace, it will be the key to your future. Remember it's alive and can sense everything. Trust only a few, but know that Aeolus will love you and do anything to keep you safe." Actaea placed the necklace into Maera's hands. She looked down at it, and stared at the stone, she became mesmerized by it as if it was calling to her. "It senses you, it recognizes your gift."
"It really is alive then?"
"Yes, your must be carful and stay safe, do not take it off." Maera nodded her head and then placed the chain over her head, then she set the necklace under her shirt. She didn't want anyone to find out about it. "Come down and see me anytime you like especially before the the 21st." She then hugged her and Maera hugged her back. "Thank you for e everything, for telling me about it all. I know that must have not been easy for you, and know that your not alone now. I know that my aunt would love to meet you. I'll tell her all about you and I'll give you her information and maybe you two can meet?"
"I would love that, I haven't seen anyone that's family in a very long time."
"I'll come back down in the next couple of days, and I'll tell you more about my aunt. And you can give me any other information that you can remember about the past."
"Come back down anytime dear." Maera nodded her head, then gave her one more hug. She then turned to leave and headed back to her moped. She didn't realize how late it was, and needed to call her aunt to tell her what she learned and discovered about her future and past.
