Chapter 3: Chapter 3 : Strong Decision
It was a good morning & I still remember everything last night.
The Double star badge is in my table.
I woke up & remembers his name. His name was Earth & he was from year 2222.
Still I had 2 days' vacation leave.
My big question to myself is how to make my days worthy.
I opened my bag I saw the newspaper about time traveling.
"There is no harm in trying. Impact it worth a million." I swallowed my saliva as I dialed the contact number on the newspaper.
"Good day. This is AIR PROJECT where first time time travelers are welcomed to join & be part of our training."
"Kindly send us your resume & will contact you within today for your tomorrows examination. Thank you." The customer service said.
I quickly sent my resume then suddenly I got another call that instructed me to go at the white SPIRIT company.
My mother entered my room.
"Loreal, I have something for you." She happily said.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Your sister bought this for you." She said while giving a paper bag with a title of "Secret to attract men".
"Ah,it was a set of lavender scent. Perfumes, lotions & liquid bath." I said as I opened it.
"Thank you." I said as I remember the scent of Earth.
"Hmm...it's your sister's secret in attracting his husband." She said to me.
"I don't need to attract any man but I like the smell..." I said as she leaves my room.
At 1:55 pm I went to the hiring area with the scent of lavender all-over my body. I was shocked that all over the world there are millions of people who wants to experience the time travelling.
Ah, I can't breathe. We are crowded in the area. We are permitted to sit in moving chair. All along the moving chair moves us to step by step process.
We took the Psychology & Engineering exam then within an hour passers proceeded to physical exam.
Good for me I passed both.
It was the quickest job hiring that I had ever experienced. We are like assembled product.
On the electronic board was written – TIME IS GOLD & FAST.
It was a mass hiring.
My last job examination before training is the final interview with online panels.
One of the panels scares me.
"This is my last word. Out of millions, many give up when I ask this." The woman from panels stated.
"What if this is a one way ticket?" She asked.
"Like in the Mars. You will not return back." She added.
"Will you still take the risks of job?" She asked.
I didn't respond quickly but as I remember what my Mom said when I was young, there is no harm in trying. If I can't return back. God & Universe will take care of me.
"I'll accept it." I replied.
"Strong woman. Million dollars will not be given to you if you can't return but the good thing about it is we will try our best to return you back unexpectedly through our device." The other man panel said to me.
"I liked you." The woman who asked me said as her approval of me.
Finally, out of millions I passed all just in one day.
Tomorrow will be my date of departure to other time.
Actually many of us passed & will be subjected to different time/year.
Before the departure. Electronics are implanted to us as their monitoring. Eye recorded of event was put in the contact cleanse that we will going to wear. A digital time traveling clock time was implanted to our lower right arm.
For one hour we are shown possible technologies that we might encounter.
Our goal is to record the scenery or happenings at year we are subjected to go & as much as possible study to bring in our time. As much as possible with our memories but they had problems with some time traveles due too, most of them return back innocently so in order to improve that. An implanted memory card was created being connected to the eye-lenses. It was a memory chip that works on own recording.
We are warned by time guards of future. They were the one who washed memories of the time travelers & forces them to return back in time.
We are put in a cubicle like a stored human.
On the other side of the room. John Cortiz saw me.
After an hour he was permitted to talk to me in a closed room.
"Why do you wish to go at different time? Do your father know this? You can quit." He said seriously to me.
"I want to see year 2222 & experience time traveling." I replied.
"It is dangerous. Most of the time travelers' don't return & most of t hem returns with dead bodies." He explained to me.
"I could earn a million for you." He said to me.
"What do you mean? For me? I do not care for money. I want to go in year 2222." I said to him with an angry voice.
"By the way. I like your smell." He said silently beside my left ear.
John Cortiz no longer speak & leaves me in the room.
As he walks on his office. He opened a letter given by a time traveler to him.
One of the word in the letter has the year 2222.
It was too awesome. Smart-Tech clothing provides us the latest clothing of a time traveler. It feels like we are wearing a plastic-electrolyte cloth. To me, it was white with LED. I was like an angel with fitted cloth. We are all placed in a circular tube one by one.
While inside I secretly pinned the double star badge in my left arm.
A sudden voice was heard. Asking from which time within 2100-2500 I want to travel. I chooses year 2222.
The feeling was I went to a wormhole. A little bumpy & no good in feeling.
I accidentally flashes on a deep ocean.
I can't breathe. I was going to die until I flashes again & went to a different city of white where people seems busy. Cars are different & floating at sky. People ignores me. Clothing was different & like alienated type. No voices can be heard. No one is talking. All I can hear is the sound of pressing.
All seems to be good looking. Sky is like covered by glasses of panel.
"Is it year 2222?" I asked with a feeling of tiredness.
I felt weak. My energies was too low.
"Ah, dizziness." I touched my head as I headed to a dark covered area while hearing an announcement as the sky turns to a news show.
It feels like nobody cares to me here. Everyone is not paying attention to me.
"Fellow. We had another news. Today we had a sighting of time travelers. 30 were counted being detected by Amelar Device this 1 hour ago."
As I heard the news, I slightly looked into the sky.
All scenes were flashes & one of it was me when I wrongly released at the deep ocean.
"Oh, no. Are they going to capture us?" I silently said to myself.
They probably will not notice in my suit due too I had similarities to them.
"Kindly, feed them, dressed them, take care of them & give them to us."
"Time travelers, kindly, if you all listen. We won't harm you. Volunteer yourself as quickly as you can."
The newscaster in a robotic voice said from the sky.
"What a kind word." I said as I loses my conscious into the hidden area.
I didn't notice. I slept for 1 hour and still nobody approaches me or wakes me up.
Here in year 2222. People seems not concern or just I was not noticeable.
If you look over. The place has no beggar, no trees & animals. Only humans are present.
I regained my energy & stand up.
"I am hungry." I touched my tummy.
If I continue like this. I might surrender to the sky-caster so early.
I also do not have place to stay on.
"Am I going to be a beggar?"
"Oh, this is no good."
I walked along the busy people. I do not know where I am going.
There was a circle type of floor that when you walked on it, it will moved you to another location.
"I was going nowhere." I said to myself as I stopped & just looked around.
My double star badge suddenly falls down to the ground.
"I get it." I said as I accidentally saw the same red metallic shoes of Earth along other people shoes.
I look over & sited Earth one of them.
"Earth!" I shouted with my one hand waving.
"Earth! Earth! Earth!" I shouted in a much louder voice that calls his attention while the others continue walking.
When he saw me. I walk cutely on the other sideways while he was on the left side of the rode & I was on the right side.
I smiled to him as he just looked to me as I sway my wavy hair. I was too happy to see him again. This time he wears differently & me too.
His face changes appearance like mad guy. Due too he looks only to me, he accidently bumped a man going to other direction.
He looked again to my direction but I was gone.
He was surprised to see me at his back.
"Your cloth & appearance." He said as he looks to me from up to down.
"You do not belong here." He even added.
"It's me, Loreal. Earth, do you remember?" I happily said.
"What are you saying? I do not know you." He replied as he grabs my shoulder that feels like he wants to surrender me.
He stares to me in a serious face. He was thinking that I was a time traveler but guessing why I know his name.
This time, I realizes that Earth in this time doesn't even know my existence. Possible that I came to the time that he doesn't met me before.
My tummy sounds different that makes him stopped staring & holding tightly my left arm.
"I am a time traveler from 2020." I honestly said.
"I am willing to surrender but before that, can we eat?" I sadly requested.
An alarming sounds war heard around.
"A time traveler was detected." A robotic sound said.
Earth immediately grabs me & hides me in a dark place where there are 100 time hole of circles in LED of different colors.
Earth stands to hole of color red.
"Put your feet at the top of my feet." He instructed me.
"Ah?" I said while putting it on while holding this two shoulders because I might lose balance.
He hugs me tightly as he said a password to the hole as if we are one or only one is allowed to enter his hiding area.
"Earth,777." He said as the hole opens & brings us down to a lot of books.
It smells old pine trees.
"What's this? A book storage of my time?" I asked.
"This is my collection of antic books that I sold online.
As we heard the another announcement become nearer, Earth panic then clicked a secret button.
"Hide. You cannot be notice easily because you have no serial number on your body. Go here. This is my secret storage of my best seller books."
I went quickly as Earth closed the secret door.
"Do not touch any books. Those worth a million." He whispers while the door is closing.
After a 4 minutes, time guards searched down the 100 holes. They entered one by one & asked the owners.
"Good day. I am Officer Glen Porch, a time guard from year 2020. Can I have permission to see your area?" As sound from top was heard.
"We are looking for a time traveler that has been detected this time." He even added.
"Okay, feel free to look over but take care of my antic books. I am selling it for a higher price." Earth responded.
"Earth 7777. Allow one visitor." Earth said his password to enable them to go inside.
When the time guard gets closer to the bookshelf where Loreal hides, Earth became a little tense but luckily another announcement was proclaimed.
"Time traveler captured. He was at hole # 56. A man in red hair who forces to unlock the museum was already captured. Please return now to your designated area."
"Sorry for the time unexpected disturbance." The time guard apologizes to Earth as he leaves the place.
"It's fine." He calmly replied.
"I will one day buy in your antic bookshop. My daughter loves the antic books. It was exotic & rare." He added with a smile.
"Thank you." Earth said.
As time guard leave, Earth immediately opened the door.
"Let's eat... He left already." Earth nicely said as opened the door.
"I thought you want to surrender me." I sadly said to him.
"Who said that? I just examined you from top to bottom. Anyway, I won't give you to them. Time travelers from past time are exotic & rare. Just like my books here. I travelled back in time just to collect them." He happily said.
"Wow. Are you also traveling in the previous years?" I asked.
"Hmm... Not yet... I had no reason for traveling & I had no plan for it. Impact I am not permitted." He said to me.
"I see..." I said as I remember the first time I saw him. I was correct. I came to his time wherein he doesn't even know my existence.
"Will they capture me too?" I asked.
"We could eat in my condominium near to this place. As I already told you, they find so hard to detect you because of not having serial number but they will find you if you cannot enter a place." He explained to me.
"...but who will took charge to your shop?" I asked curiously.
"I had someone here that I hides too." He funnily said.
"Dorami, please present yourself." He said as the robotic humanoid (male type) appeared from the books in holographic form.
"Do your best of taking care to our shop. Send them online." He instructed to the humanoid.
"I will do my best!" Dorami responded.
"This is amazing. It was my first time to see a holographic humanoid." I silently said.
"Let's go."Earth said with a smile.
I nodded as a sign of saying yes.
"You must first change your clothes. I had a not so fitted suit that little bit suits your body" He said to me as he looks into my fitted white suit.
