Chapter 78: Failed Plans

All she felt was betrayed a bit even though she understood why he might've done that. Telling others, especially a small village about your royalty or background may enrage the starving villagers into forming an assassination plan to other ill-intended plans for them to get their way. Though it was something her family would never do, she understood why he would have been on guard with them. But it made her feel horrible and distant from him… even if she was distant from him normally, she would prefer not to actually feel the distance.

Now, there was an ice bridge forming between her and him. His royalty was one factor adding to the distance and now the sudden assassination task made him feel like someone she could just easily get rid of from her life, when he wasn't. He helped her village when they were in need and that was enough to take him out of stranger-zone.
