Chapter 3: Ash to the Soils Nutrients

I woke up at the start of dusk when the night began to come to a crawl. Stretching my arms and legs, I would have to go and find food. Although I would have to be careful. Other powerful predators prowled in the night. I would see Dire Wolves start their hunts at midnight, when the moon was visible and danced with the stairs. This night, I too would get to try this opportunity to dance with the graceful moon and it's stars.

I wondered out of tent slowly and carefully. Making sure there were no dangers near me. As my body was being torn into paper, I focused making my other senses be more critical enhanced. I could feel every vibration of every animal around me, even the birds has they flapped their wings and created pressure in the air.

I could smell the Pine sap that dripped from the pine itself, and the precious clean water from far in the valley.

I could see in the night as though it was day, as the bats made a ruckus in the moons light.

The sounds of their countless calls and noises.

What I was more focused on was the new pressure I felt. It was large and foreboding. But it was also weak.

I moved out of the tent, and took to a sturdy pine oak. It branches was corse and sticky, but it felt thrilling to climb. I started to jump tree to tree almost in a dance. Even though the nails in my feet hurt, it was not as bad as the night they were put in. It was almost as if they where not there at all.

As I came to a clearing, of wheat grass, and ivory flowers, I saw a large beast. And with it two large groups of humans.

"On this day!"

One of them started to shout as the wounded behemoth lay panting and wheezing and ground. The man threw his foot on it face, and it look like it hurt, the beast a little, even though the foot was significantly small than it's own head.

"The last land Behemoth will be killed. Ending the gods connection with our land!"

The other men roared and howled like wolf's.

'They wanted to end the gods connection with our lands?'

I didn't understand what they ment by that, but I was more focused on the large monsters apprentice.

It was half the size of the mansion. At least the size of the hidden basement. It had a magnificent white, and light blue coat.

A main like that of a lion, and large floppy ears. Horns that came forward like a bulls but more straight, they curved tightly all the way down to the tip of the horn where it stopped to the nose.

It had the head of a bull, and yet had long smooth teeth that came down to its chin.

The beast eyes as, they have been sad and beaten, were a beautiful golden pink like the sunrise of a new moring.

"We control the land! Not some wretched beast!"

The, assumed, leader of group shouted. He raised his sword read to cut its head off. The beast started to close it's eyes; almost ready for death. I couldn't let that happen.

I let out a howl unlike any I had before. The men where startled and started to look around. I had an ability I kept hidden from my family.

I could summon monsters from the night to my side. I had tested it on accident with one of the dire wolfs. I only ment to ask for me to let me pet it in stead it started digging and helped me get out, only once. When I was found that day, I had a lot of punishment for ruining the garden.

This time I had more confidence and control of my power. A large rumble moved in the woods, and then another. And another, and another. Till it sounded like thunder. It was coming down the clearing behind the men.

"Steady fast men! It was probably Dire wolfs mistaking a hunt!"

But he was wrong. A large three horned monster with a frill on the back of its head came running forward. It wore large canine teeth, and had a large dorsal frill that ran to its tail. And even the tail wore a large deadly addition of a large spiky hammer. It's skin was a dark green with beautiful orange highlights.

It moved its front leg reading for a charge.

"Fall back men! It is an Tridaous! We do not have the energy to fight it. We will return for the behemoth tomorrow!"

The men scattered across the ground like baby spiders that lost there mother spider. The large three horned beast took charge and ran forward, aiming nowhere and everywhere. It was going straight for the wounded beast.

I had summoned something to big. I dropped from my hiding spot and and tried to use my legs, that were not used to running, to the large wounded monster.

I made it front of the large monster in time for the big three horned on to stop. It huffed in anger, and unhappiness.

"I am sorry to have woken you early. You don't prowl till midnight. I didn't not mean to wake this early."

I used my hands and waved them carefully in front of the big three horned monster. I didn't attempt to touch it. I moved my hands to my side and carefully bowed in front of the beast, to show no danger, but gratitude instead.

"I thank you for your assistance, o large one."

It took a second, and blew its nose. Letting out a heavy huffed of air on me. I laughed a little, it moved and turned its large arking body around. It soon discovered into the large foliage that surrounded the clearing.

I turned to the monster behind me. It was covered in slashes and arrows.

That night I stayed to help heal the large monster till it woke.
