Chapter 75: Future madame of the Fei's

"Your coffee, miss." The rain was beating hard against the roof of a small coffee shop right outside S city.

The weather report that morning indicated that there was going to be a thunderstorm around the area. Residents were advised to stay home or bundle up with jackets and an umbrella. However, Ying Yue only had her leather jacket with her.

She placed both hands around the steaming cup of coffee and held it to her lips. Gently, she breathed in the warm steam coming off the surface.

She had ticked off most of the list that was put together by Mo Yiling. Well, at least, most of the list that were in and around S city. She even snuck in to a private jet that had M-8927 as part of its registration number. Unfortunately, she didn't find anything that was notable. She suddenly felt like she had failed Ying Shen. Perhaps she shouldn't have been so willful, insisting on going off blindly to figure out what M-8927 meant.

Brother Shen, she thought, why didn't you explain this to me before you left?

She took a sip of her coffee and stared out the window at the pouring rain. Her image was reflected on the glass, displaying a young woman in gray contact lens and purple chalk-dyed hair under a beanie. Because she got caught in the rain, the most of the purple chalk had washed off, leaving only some color at random areas of her hair.

Grimacing at her reflection, she took off the beanie and ran a hand through her hair to shake off the remaining purple chalk. In less than a minute, her hair was back to being dark, long and straight, tumbling over her shoulders and ending on her waist.

Her thoughts flew to a certain domineering man, and her lips curved up as she thought about seeing him again. Life was a lot simpler when she was with him that she often forgot who she was and why she was with him in the first place. The cold hands gripping her cup reminded her of Fei Huangjin trying to keep her hands warm. And that kiss…

She wondered if he was doing okay. But then again, that man was Fei Huangjin. Why wouldn't he be alright?

A woman sitting on the table across Ying Yue watched her with furtive glances. She was surprised to find her extremely pretty, especially when she finally got that purple color off her hair. The long jet-black hair that was currently framing her face made her seem angelic. She was sure that the woman wasn't from around the area.

She discreetly took a photo of her with her phone, and stared at the image she took with a strange sense of familiarity. Wasn't this the woman on the paper a few days ago? The one they labelled as the future madame of the Fei family?

She searched the internet for "future madame of the Fei's" and found the trending photo of the young master Fei Huangjin doing grocery with a woman. Comparing it to the real-life version across her, they looked very, very, very much alike.

She glanced briefly at the woman with interest. She was wearing rugged clothes that were so much unlike the feminine ones she was wearing in the photo. The woman was still staring out of the coffee shop, looking on as the rain pelted the glass windows like tiny bullets.

Grinning, she snapped another photo of her and put it up on her Weibo account. Her friends over at S city were going to be so jealous of her. She captioned it, "Saw the future madame of the Fei's at my town today! She's so pretty in real life!"

Notifications immediately came in, and various people started commenting on her photo.

"Why is she there?"

"OMG she's a dream!!!"

"Get you a pretty girl who can dress up and dress down this way."

"She looks like she hasn't combed her hair today."

"She doesn't look anything special."

"You're so lucky you met her!"

"Sir, look at this."

Mo Yiling stood up from his desk and approached one of the men handling the search for shadow fox. The man pointed to his computer screen.

"Someone posted a photo of shadow fox on Weibo. She was recognized as the future madame of the Fei's." It was a reference to the tabloid headlines during the day she disappeared.

He narrowed his eyes at the photo. It was indeed Ying Yue, with a cup of coffee on one hand and leaning her head on the other as she stared outside. It had been difficult to track her down, even with their satellite system. She had always been good at evasion and disguise, even while she was training. "Get Big Boss to come down here."

"Yes, sir."
