Chapter 223: Yes, madam
Fei Huangjin had already left the house by the time Xi Shenghui came over to pick up Ying Yue. Two weeks had passed by since the incident, and from then on, everything seemed to go back to normal -- as if nothing happened. There was nothing in the news about it, either. Only, Song Yinan was still missing, and Su Jianjun was said to be busy running Changsu, which meant that the Dragon Club hadn't found anything suspicious in him lately.
Ying Yue slid inside the passenger seat and glanced at Xi Shenghui. Thankfully, the man didn't break any bone in his body when he had that car accident. His face was pretty knocked-up from hitting the glass window and there was a nasty gash on his head that had to be stitched up. But he was in one piece.
Breaking the news to him about Big Boss and Mo Yiling was harder than she thought, and Xi Shenghui had blamed himself for failing to realize the situation beforehand. It took a lot of prodding and pushing on her part to get him back on his feet. She needed him at Juyan.
"Good morning, Shenghui!" It was her first working day as the official Director of Juyan, and she wanted to be as positive as she could be.
"Madam." His face was stoic as always, and would have given off a scary vibe if it weren't for the fading bruises on his eyes and cheeks. The light purple and yellow patches seemed to put a bit of color on his face.
"I told you not to call me that. Just call me Ying Yue."
"Yes, madam."
Ying Yue turned to him with a furious look, but he just ignored her and continued driving.

"Shen Chuyi!" Fei Huangjin's voice rang from inside his office, and a few seconds later, the door opened to reveal a young skinny man with round-framed glasses up his nose.
"S-sir!"
Ying Yue had stayed on at the company just long enough to hire a new secretary and train him. But starting today, the new guy was on his own. And he looked like someone who'd get blown away by a very light wind. He'd left Ying Yue in-charge with looking for her replacement, so he hoped against all else she wasn't just pulling his leg with this kid he left him with.
"Shen Chuyi, are you blind? Why are these documents with me? These are supposed to be verified first with the other departments before you send them to my office!" Fei Huangjin's sharp gaze sent daggers from across the room.
His new secretary flinched. "Ah, my mistake, CEO Fei. I'm still getting used to the work, sir--"
"Getting used to the work?" Fei Huangjin scoffed. "You've already had a week-long adjustment period with my wife, so why are you still making these kinds of mistakes? If you don't prove to me that you're competent, you might as well get out of my company."
The man lowered his head in apology. He suddenly recalled the boss's wife saying that the CEO was keen on details and would kill for the slightest mistake. She wasn't lying, after all! "I'm so sorry, CEO Fei! I'll do my best from now on! Please allow me to prove myself!"
Fei Huangjin ignored his remark. "Get me coffee right this instant if you don't want me fire you."
"Yes, sir!"
The man left the room, and Fei Huangjin rubbed at his forehead to calm himself down. Ugh… I wonder what Ying Yue could be doing right now. Was she settling in to her position easily? Did that place give her any headaches?
He picked up his phone and scrolled to her name to call her, but in the last second, he scrolled over to Guan Ting's name instead.
Seeing that his master was calling, Guan Ting put down some of the syndicate's paperwork he was going through and answered the call right away. Fei Huangjin didn't usually call unless it was urgent. "Boss."
"Guan Ting, buy the most beautiful bouquet of flowers you can find and send it over to Juyan."
Wait, what?
Disbelief was written all over his face, and silence settled between them over the phone before Guan Ting found his voice. "Flowers?" He didn't know sh*t about flowers!
"Mmm. And put a note in the card. Write this down…"
