Chapter 2: A Thief's Karma

Legend:

--------------------------------- : this line marks that two to three or worse, four things are happening at the same time. You may look for the next symbol like this to continue where the story left off, if you don't like the added scenario.

---------------------------------

Day 1

She still walked barefoot by the beach, savoring the feeling of the sand and that peace bringer, the wind, with all the whispers and howls of the night.

A small grin slowly crept up her adorable face.

Her body felt light in spite of her fatigue. The rustle of the coconut trees and the sound of crickets made her breath deeply again, as if all this life and unperturbed solace would fill up the cavities of her lungs. At the thought of this, she giggled like a teenage girl in love, in love with the world, with her dreams, her aspirations. She sighed. Reminded of the fact that whenever Mama Nature wanted to bedazzle her with its wonders and primal magnificence, it was always when her phone wasn't around. She massaged her forehead and just said to herself, "Darling Shizuka, Mama Nature just wants you to be more into your bonding with her without all that technology."

After a few minutes of walking she shouted, "Oh, come on!!! Can't we be more than just carpe diem every single fudged up time? I also wanna remember days like this without having to write it in a diary. Mama Nature, You also know I am not fond of audio diaries. Can't you please change this really twisted sweetness about our relationship? Pictures or videos would be really nice to go back to, you know?" she cracked, she usually cracks her facade when no one is around, she acts like a spoiled brat shouting her lungs out for her wishes to come true. Quite Naive Shizuka, I like it. Nothing like a good and uninhibited shout to relieve them stinking stress of life. Sadly and somewhat preciously, these moments have rarely been shared to others. Well, now we share it with her, but I think she ain't breaking the fourth wall anytime soon. So, yeah, keep it to ourselves. *whistles.

When she reached the front of the hotel, she met Egon Nietzsche again. He looked her up and down while speaking blandly, "Good that you didn't drown, I still need your intelligence for writing our would be research."

Shizuka blinked as she tried to understand what he meant. She then bobbed her head to the right as if signifying the vagueness of his words.

Egon closed his eyes in exasperation, "Next time you want to swim. Be it in the middle of the night or broad daylight, tell me. Swimming alone is very dangerous. Plus, you were emotionally unstable. What would you have done had you been carried away by those waves while no one knew where you were?"

Her eyes constricted as she understood the gist of his words, "How do you know... Nobody knows where I'm at?"

"One, I called you three times after you walked by me. Two, you didn't look back, no sound came from your little sling bag there." he pointed at it while having that lazy but seemingly all seeing eyes, "Three, you were crying earlier on. Anyone with a brain and a good enough amount of EQ could piece together that you wanted 100% alone time. Even gadgets were not salvaged in your plight." he raised his left brow as he observed her.

Shizuka was unimpressed and somewhat alarmed.

Seeing this, he sighed as he brushed and messed up his hair with his left hand. He whispered, "Lunatic."

"Excuse me?" Shizuka immediately questioned.

"I was referring to myself, don't feel entitled." he answered back with disdain.

Shizuka had that look of someone looking at a person who should be in an asylum.

Egon scorned as he grunted, "I'll meet you tomorrow. We need to talk about our research. What time can we meet?"

Shizuka breathed in deeply, cocking her head again to the right. "Hmmmm, pardon but I can't. I'd rather keep my time to myself. Right now, I'm currently on vacation." she explained calmly. She then looked him in the eyes as she bid him farewell. For the second time around, she walked by him without looking back.

Egon was left alone outside the hotel as his gaze over Shizuka intensified. When Shizuka entered the hotel and as she got on the lift, he remarked with a hint of worry, "Tsk, let's hope my observations were wrong."

When Shizuka went inside her room she yawned as her eyes suddenly felt dry and groggy but she soon noticed her room's windows depicted the view of the beach outside. The moon shone generously onto her bed making her love such nights. She felt around the walls for the light switch since the light from the window was limited and soon enough it showed her well lit room. The room she chose was a studio type room in case she felt like doing any of her hobbies. It's just that the entrance of the room was quite narrow allowing only a person or a person and a half to enter. Her phone was still inside her bag and she always had a bag filled with her most important stuffs in case her work required her to suddenly camp out. That's why when she left earlier on, it was pretty quick.

She rummaged through her stuffs and very quickly she felt something warm. When she fished that warm thing out, it was her phone filled with notifications of people greeting her online. She checked out the notifications and noticed that Sakura messaged her. After reading her message, her eyes twinkled. She whispered to herself, "Silly." She also checked the few calls she received. One was from her second aunt, the other was from her best friend, and the last three calls were from Egon. She couldn't help but find it odd that that guy called her. Her gut instinct told her that this Nebula representative wasn't the usual work/teammate or if he was normal, whatever his reasons for calling weren't things she would like to understand.

Shizuka had always been blessed with great foresight. Whenever she felt someone was good, that person really was good. Whenever she felt that someone felt prideful, that person really is. I mean, that's kind of the easiest and obvious trait of a person. However, there were instances when she felt the waters were too deep for some other people. For such instances she always chooses to observe a little while longer, for she believes that some people whose personalities can't be fathomed at a glance, even just a bit, would mean that that person had experiences, experiences that helped create that heaviness about them. Words should not be casually thrown about these types of people. Why you say? Cause for her, some words unknown to us could be -trigger words- for these people.

A while later, as she was cleaning herself up, she heard a knock on the door. She ignored it and continued brushing her teeth.

A few minutes passed.

She heard several beeps from her door lock indicating that a wrong key card was used to open her door. Shizuka's eyes narrowed, she immediately rinsed her mouth and spit out the gargled water. Walking quietly outside the bathroom and peering out at her door, she heard another attempt to open her door. She deftly rummaged through her things to get her leather gloves and as she did, once again, another beeping sound was heard. A cold smile could be seen on Shizuka's face as she put on her gloves, she turned off her phone as she placed it inside her bag. Afterwards, she crept up near the light's switch and turned it off. Quietly, she hid at the corner wall provided by her restroom and waited patiently, another beeping sound was heard. She was starting to wonder why the alarm hadn't reached the hotel's security. "A hacker?" she thought to herself.

Her breathing started to become quieter and quieter and soon it felt as if the room had no human inside. On the fifth attempt, the door opened.

Unusually, the lights of the corridor outside her room were turned off. She smirked and cocked her head to the left, "they also got a technician..." her eyes constricted when she thought of this. "The hotel's been compromised?" She became serious and attentively observed her predicament, she heard very subtle steps that were almost inaudible because of the floor's rug.

She stealthily moved towards the intruder within the closest proximity and crouched in front of him mimicking the length of his steps using his body to cover her presence while using her height to be left unnoticed. Suddenly, she squatted before this person and swung her right foot sideways, when she heard where the intruder landed, she quickly pinpointed where this person's head was. When that first intruder tried to get back up, Shizuka's right foot was already stepping on the intruder's back, where the arc of his back was at its highest. While she broke his neck with her hands, a cracking sound could be heard. Her left foot's toe grabbed a hold of the gun on him before her right foot kicked him, using the intruders body as a means to help her bounce up to the ceiling before being shot. The narrow space of the entrance helped her immediately get hold of her position up there. But there was a problem, you know, the gunshots, meaning there was more than one intruder. Shizuka's earlier actions pointed out where she was at and shots were fired at her when she was still jumping. She couldn't see them, but they saw her through their night vision goggles and they were shocked by how, in just a matter of a few seconds, their comrade died.

The next second, multiple muffled gunshots hit the first intruder's spot and the part where Shizuka jumped at. Using the sound from the first few shots earlier on, Shizuka jumped from the ceiling evading the successive shots at her and attacked one of the intruders by hitting him with the butt of her gun. This second intruder only felt something hard and cold hitting the back of his neck. What followed was just like with the first intruder, his body was used as a shield. The third intruder didn't hesitate and shot his comrade but Shizuka was unfazed and shot the other intruder's right knee, when he stabilized himself to shoot her, Shizuka decisively shot him on the head. Shizuka looked apathetically at the darkness enveloping her and afterwards shot the other intruder that was still breathing.

She immediately got her backpack and checked the outside of her shattered windows. Luckily, the outside had a ledge. She stepped on it, squatted down until she could swing herself downwards to the other room's ledge. She did this for a minute or two until she reached a window that had someone familiar. She was quite fascinated with the fact that Egon was just a few floors below hers. Egon was equally gobsmacked how this Shizuka he just met earlier on was going down the hotel through the windows outside. Shizuka's hearing was on high alert when she heard some light footsteps coming from her room. She quickly pointed at his window's lock and he, being bewildered with the situation, unknowingly opened it. Once the window was opened, she quietly entered while quickly closing the window and the curtains.

Shizuka immediately signaled for Egon to keep quiet. She tapped Egon's shoulder lightly multiple times with quick and long successions. Egon immediately recognized the first few taps, that meant, "Danger, hotel compromised."

Egon's eyes darkened. He kept quiet as he observed Shizuka. She fished a bulky phone from her backpack as she did something with it before dialing a series of number. It rang auspiciously. No one answered. She called again, this time after three rings someone finally picked up the call. "Shishi? Why are you..."

Shizuka immediately cut her off, by dialing some numbers in quick and long successions as well, the Morse code meant, "Danger. Hiding." She cut the call. When she looked at Egon, he didn't seem too alarmed. She kept mum and he also kept mum. A few seconds later Shizuka pulled Egon to the comfort room as she plugged the hair dryer. She then used it on the mirror, as moist began to build up on its surface, she started writing words on the mirror.

"I don't know if all the rooms here are bugged. But the hotel is filled with either mercenary or spies."

Egon nodded in understanding.

She wrote, "You're not surprised."

They looked each other up as if measuring a friend or foe.

Egon then wrote on the mirror, "My family's part of the military."

She wrote, "Which Military?"

"Major General Nietzsche is my Grandfather. "

Before Shizuka could absorb what he said, they both heard beeping sounds from the door lock. They looked each other in the eyes. She pulled Egon towards the window. She didn't draw the curtains. Instead, she went under the curtains and opened the window. She checked if there were people watching out for them outside. None. She heard another beeping sound. Egon understood and he turned off the light switch before following her. Shizuka swung downwards again. When Egon was on the ledge, he heard his door beep for the third time. His eyes narrowed, he closed the windows and swung down. Luckily, his room was just on the third floor.

When Shizuka got down, there were armed men at the lobby, she stealthily ran towards the beach. She placed the gun inside her pocket, Egon was right behind her when she made a run for it. Once they reached the beach, they swam towards the nearby cave. When they were finally there, Shizuka was so exhausted. She looked for dry clothes in her bag and went to a somewhat dark part of the cave and changed her clothes. Egon stood guard as the lookout.

"Do you snore?" The voice echoed in the deep recesses of the cave.

Egon shook his head.

Shizuka walked towards him with a blanked. "Take it off, make do with my blanket."

He nodded and went to where Shizuka changed.

She immediately felt groggy as her head lightly bobbed. Her senses became heightened when she heard Egon's footsteps, she looked back to see him wrap the blanket like himation. "Creative, aren't we?" she complimented.

"Cosplayed before." he explained. He then sat by her side and looked out to the sea while it was still blanketed by the night sky. "I didn't expect our partnership to start today."

Shizuka raised her left brow while her faced had an irksome look.

He grinned as he said, "You said you're on your day off."

She rolled her eyes at his effort for a conversation.

"Aleksi said you were quite the rainbow of colors. I..."

"Stop." she rebutted dryly, "Did your nephew force you to make me agree?"

Egon looked alarm, he adeptly moved away from Shizuka. "Who are you?"

She smiled in return.

Egon eyed her seriously.

Shizuka just looked at him lazily. "I was recommended by the Nobokov couple."

Hearing that surname reminded him of the two people who treated him like a kid. He unconsciously said, "Andre and...

Shizuka spoke at the same time as him,

"Aubi?"

"Aubi."

She patted the empty space beside her, and cocked her head towards it.

Egon felt no harm whatsoever from her so he did sit near her, but not at close proximity.

Shizuka chuckled at his act of self-protection. "I was that GreyHat that did some penetration testing on that software defect Aubi's laptop had."

"Greyhat..." he mumbled to himself. In deep thought he tried to remember of any conversations about a GreyHat. "GreyHat..."

She shook her head at his lousy acting. "How long do you intend to play all day?"

Egon's eyes steeled, "You knew."

"And you knew as well. Did they also send you for me?"

Egon became quiet before he snorted.

"So, it wasn't a matter of yes or no?" she whispered.

"In your case. It can't be. Anyways, I wasn't sent by Conrad."

"The Federal Government it is." Shizuka joked as she remembered that day.

---------------------------------

The weather had been quite bleak, heavy rains poured and poured. It was the time Shizuka was conducting her day to day interviews with couples during their free time. That day, a particular couple explained that they couldn't reschedule their interview. Shizuka, wanting to get more answers pushed through and personally went to one of the houses of the said participants, and yes, this couple was the Nabokov couple. She was very surprised at how decisive and to the point the husband and wife answered her questions. Especially the answer of Aubi, "Children aren't mandatory. My husband was very supportive of my choice, and this has led to us having more time for one another. It should become a norm for everyone, especially for children to see that when they grow up they can have children if they want to and they can also opt to not have any. The options we've given our youth has limited their world view. This has limited the world's evolution, it should stop."

Her answer was so provocative, so ahead of her time, that when Shizuka heard it, she couldn't help but be shocked and say, "I see."

The next thing, they all heard weird beeping sounds from the laptop at the dining table.

Andre excused himself for a while. Shizuka asked Aubi the following questions, disregarding those weird sound. After 10 minutes, Andre still hasn't returned and Aubi also excused herself. Another 10 minutes passed and now both couples seemed to have forgotten their guest. She walked towards them but with just the right amount of space that wouldn't offend them. Gently she inquired, "Shall we move the interview some other day?"

Aubi raised her head from the laptop as she replied, "Pardon, we can't. Would you mind waiting a little while longer?" Shizuka gave a warm smile before nodding. Aubi beamed back.

As she returned to her seat, she felt the warmth of this house even though the weather was definitely leading towards a colder temperature. As she waited, she heard even more odd sounds, her left eye began to twitch as she became impatient. She realized her time was being wasted by some cheapskates hacker. She again walked towards the couple, this time she moved closer and said, "Could you move over? That GreenHat is wasting my time."

The couple was dumbfounded with her words. Even more, Shizuka even had the audacity to pull Aubi up, place her handkerchief over the laptop's camera, and sat on the table.

Soon, coordinated tapping sounds could be heard. She first checked the NMAP and scanned any vulnerabilities then cracked the software installed in the laptop, after doing this, she looked at the couple with disdain as she quipped, "Couldn't you have at least gotten a better software with a good security safeguard? Tsk. This is one of the most poorly configured software I've seen."

They were, again, baffled by this, another extreme level of criticism. The classy trash talk using skills to kill. Even Andre's forehead began to throb at the oddity of the situation in spite of their dire circumstance. This seemingly meek and sweet researcher, they felt like they were scammed.

---------------------------------

On the other end of some hidden place, "Whose the GreenHat?? Who made a poorly configured software?? This nobody!!!"

"Conrad, stop shouting! You're in the headquarters!"

"Tsk, when I find out which country this hacker is from, let's see what hell I'll give you!"

"Why did you even have to place that classified information at Aubi's laptop?"

"I didn't think she'd bring it with her. She always left it here. You know, the mindset of placing treasures at least expected places?"

The man with a major general uniform sighed and shook his head. "Focus." he snapped.

"Great- Grandfather??"

---------------------------------

Not more than three minutes had passed at the Nabokov House

"I see." Shizuka contemplated, "A hybrid worm... an interesting code indeed."

Aubi was bewildered by what she said, she questioned, "What do you mean?"

"Hmmmm, being WhiteHats and all, this should be easy. The hacker created something similar to a worm or how I'd like to describe it, a dormant worm. This particular worm if let's say touches a certain degree of firewall would become an active worm. This active worm isn't a worm anymore. It's like a code hidden within a code. Actually, the dormant worm is a form of complex code, turning this hybrid dormant worm into a, hmm, something close to a trojan virus, but worst when active?" She laughed, as she continued to develop the software's security level by encrypting a more complex order, "If it hits normal firewalls like I don't know, Mackee or Caspers, it stays a dormant, harmless, an undetectable duplicating worm."

"Continue." Andre said calmly.

"But your software's security safeguard is an upgraded version, even though it's a RIP-off of a poorly configured software, it's still better than the average. I guess?" she said forcefully, as if saying this statement was tarnishing her reputation.

"It activated the worm." Aubi and Andre said at the same time.

"Uh-huh. What's more, this hybrid..." she sighed. "Nevermind. Let me just finish this off, since I've already..." she giggled as she continued, "Installed some backdoor while making sure this n00b wouldn't even realize I already made a move at his turf since I already deleted my trace." She whispered to herself, "hubris..."

Andre received a call and he answered it, it automatically went to speakers mode. A deep baritone voice could be heard speaking, "Who's touching Aub's laptop?"

He looked at the young woman hacking the hacker hacking his wife's laptop, Shizuka shook her head while not even looking at him. His wife also shook her head. Andre kept quiet.

In just a few more taps, she bypassed the security safeguard of the hacker and pulled something similar to a denial of service attack starting from the computer the hacker was using, messing up as well the computers and phone within the whole city it was in.

"You've got guts doing something like that" The voice from the phone complimented sarcastically.

She immediately shot down the nagging voice from the other end of the phone, "And I'm quicker and more decisive than you, fake RedHat."

This face slapping was just too much that Aubi, Andre, and even the people from the other end of the call were laughing.

Shizuka was in her own little bubble as she whispered, "Five minutes, not bad. But I think I can do better."

All the people except the owner of that voice laughed harder

She did some penetration tests and vulnerability assessments. After a few more minutes passed she then looked at the couple, exasperatingly requested, "Can we please continue the interview?"

---------------------------------

On the other end of the phone, Conrad questioned, "Interview?"

All the other people with him shrugged their shoulder. Unaware of what type of interview the couple were part of.

---------------------------------

Aubi grinned at her, "Yeah, we can."

Shizuka blinked about seven times before looking at Andre. "Hey, is that call still on?"

He was taken aback by this question, he then looked at his phone. Instead of answering her, he showed the screen to her.

Shizuka gazed at the phone coldly as she retorted after so long, "Hey, you. Their time was scheduled to be mine. Don't cut in line." which she followed by ending the call.

Aubi and Andre laughed until their stomachs hurt.

"Oh, God, this is so gooooood~ finally someone who can put that brat in place!" Andre said.

Aubi nodded her head, couldn't say anymore words. Between laughing or talking, anyone would choose a bout of laughter.

Her face was all distorted because she acted like she didn't lose all her patience while repeating, "Can we go now??"

They all went back to the living room to continue the interview. The husband and wife became serious when she started shooting her questions spontaneously. It was an exceptional interview. When they were done, Shizuka pouted her lips and stated, "You're part of the Federal Government."

Aubi and Andre expected her to say this. They nodded their heads.

"Can you keep what you've seen today all to yourselves? I did make sure the hacker didn't know who I was." she bit her lip as she semi-begged using her pitiful looks.

Aubi shook her head and responded endearingly, "Darling, what you just did alarmed not only our federal government, not just the federal government of that enemy country. It also informed the whole federal world of your existence. Unknown as you may be, as of the moment, we're not so sure in the long run." she answered truthfully.

Shizuka inhaled deeply and whispered, "They were wasting my time."

Aubi laughed at her way of thinking, "Yes, they were. However, your means of saving your time had blown your cover."

Shizuka asked another question, "This is democratic country. I'm not required to become part of..."

"We still have to inform them..."

---------------------------------

"You stole classified information." Egon stated as a matter of fact.

"I did not." Shizuka countered.

He contradicted her by not even looking at her, speaking to the wind that's as elusive as always, "Tell me then, why does your phone have a copy of that, tsk, I don't know... What did you call it again... oh~ hybrid worm?"

"..."

Egon sighed, "Kid, look. I'm not part of the federal government. It was just a coincidence that our work led to our meeting. My grandfather, finding out such an information, since they've been keeping a watch of you... I'll be honest, they immediately asked me to watch over you."

"To monitor me?" she acknowledged.

"Yeah, sure." he rolled his eyes while answering.

"I turned it off." Shizuka blinked a lot as she explained, "I programmed my phone that when in off mode, nothing can detect it."

Egon snorted, "Sweet. So, all sides won't find us?"

She looked at him like a bullied puppy as she elaborated, "I didn't say that I only have one phone."

Egon eyed her questioningly.

"The phone I used to call Aubi. It was programmed to send distress signals and my exact location if necessary. And it isn't interceptable. So, only Aubi knows where I am now."

"You and Aubi are quite close." Egon analyzed.

"Aubi knows... You know as well."

His eyes widened at this fact, his face became solemn, "I'll make sure they don't keep you in there."

"Doctor's Creed?"

"Doctor's Creed.. and I still need you for that whooping research. I need a good teammate for my MA research to go the extra mile." He grimaced.

"You trust me that much?" she giggled.

"Hmmmm, so so." he cocked his head left and right as he added, "Sleep. I'll take the night watch."

"Mmmmm."

Shizuka went behind a rock and readied herself for sleep. Sleep had been creeping up on her, she just didn't know when she could sleep peacefully after all the excitement. Since he offered to be sleepless, no saying no to that. In just a few minutes she dozed off into wonderland.

Egon walked towards her as he observed her in her sleep. He sighed as he whispered to himself, "That's one heck of a..." He blinked a bit before going back to his spot and sighed deeply. The moon shone gently over his features casting an enchanting air about him, the cave, and the sea. "Ah, Aleksi, she really is such a baby."

Hours passed and a submarine rose from the stream passing the cave. Shizuka's position was well hidden. Egon's position wasn't. He darted behind the rocks near Shizuka. Soldiers came out of the submarine, some of these soldiers were familiar to Egon. He slowly went out of his hiding place, the soldiers aimed their guns at him. He complimented them, "Not bad."

One of the female soldiers was surprised to see him, "Where is she?" she asked worriedly. Finally recognizing that face, the soldiers put their guns down.

"Hey, Aubs, I'm your childhood friend, shouldn't you be asking about me first?" Egon questioningly said.

The male beside Aubi quickly scorned Egon, "I'd prefer my wife worry about a kid then some hapless man"

"Hey! I'm your pal, Andre! No talk shittin' here!"

Conrad ignored the old geezers arguing and went to the spot where Egon came from, looking around, he soon saw a young woman sleeping in fetal position. He grunted, went in front of her, kneeled. He noticed a bag beside, he took it and carried her in a princess style carry. Shizuka was sleeping so deeply that she just cozied up in his embrace.

Egon observed his nephew, he then ordered, "Fall back."

They all entered the submarine.

They gathered at the Cafeteria while Shizuka was earlier on placed in one of the bunker beds in the sleep area.

Aubi stopped the stalemate silence, "Thank you, for protecting her."

Egon blinked, "What do you mean?"

"We saw her room. You're still as sharp as ever, Eggsie" Conrad joked.

Again, he was baffled by their remarks, he asked slowly, "What was in her room?"

The atmosphere became tense and quiet.

"Don't joke around." Aubi scolded him.

"Uncle Eggsie?"

Egon repeated his question even slower, "What. Was. In. Her. Room?"

Andre observed his friend, he then realized what he meant. "I think... It will be harder, Aubi, to keep the Federal Government out this time..."

Aubi blinked a few times as it slowly sinked in, her cheeks trembled, she gave a weak cheeky smile, "Hey, Eggsie, come on, don't joke around."

"Aubs, I'm not lying." He frankly cut her off. Egon sighed before he looked at Andre and Conrad, " What was in her room?"

Andre and Conrad looked at Aubi, they saw how her eyes became red. She nodded at the both of them. When the two men looked at one another, Conrad tilted his head towards Egon, as if to say, -you say it.-

Wrinkles appeared on Andre's forehead. "There were assassins in her room. The forensic team and even we ourselves, when we saw how the bodies were and how they died. It was... they were professionally killed."

Egon started tapping the table as he ordered, "Elaborate."

Aubi spoke this time as she steadied her voice, "One of them, his neck was broken cleanly. The other was shot at the knee and then the head. The shots were consecutively, even precisely done. The last one was odd at first. He seemed unconscious when he was shot, we later found a bruise at the back of his neck."

Conrad was confused. He voiced out his thoughts, "If it wasn't you that killed them and you aren't aware of this." he gulped before asking, "Why were you together? How is it possible?"

Egon was reminded of their bizarre encounter. "She was getting down the hotel by means of the ledges of the window. Coincidentally, my room was one of the windows she dropped at."

Andre sneered, "What?"

"Exactly that. I even saw her do it when those mercenaries were trying to get in my room. We went down that very same way since my room was just at the third floor."

Aubi laughed in disbelief, "Her floor was on the seventh floor. Egon, are you sure?"

Egon nodded.

Hi, thanks for reading my novel. Yeah, the story is beginning to pick up some pace. For now, it's still normal, but probably as we progress further, it may become a bit of magic realism? I realized that as I wrote some bits and pieces of the other chapters it will go there. Since technically, she really has to rise from this and find some meaning in her life in a bit of impactful way. Of course the intense psychological aspect will remain, but for now it is what it is.
