Chapter 1: Prologue
In the fields of Charteau, you can hear the genuine laughter of kids playing and dancing around in midday.
Clothes getting dirty because of the dirt they are stomping and rolling on. Sweat starting to drip on their foreheads because of the heat, but still unbothered since all they can think of is to enjoy each other's company until the sun sets where they finally need to go to their separate ways.
Before the day ends, one kid reached to his pocket and brought out a necklace with a tiny flower in the middle. He gave it to the girl, unable to look at her due to the embarrassment he is feeling. The girl smiled brightly, her cheeks getting in to a pinkish color, and accepted the necklace.
Bidding their farewells, they went to their separate ways.
Tears flowing from her eyes as she continues to run as fast as she could not minding the scars she is getting on her feet nor the end of her dress getting rip apart from the thorns and twigs on the ground.
All she can think about is to get away from the clattering sounds of horse hooves, and men shouting at each other to catch her.
The clatter of horse hooves disappears as she falls down the cliff. The noise of the waves covering the splash she made along with her calls of help until she can no longer produce any sound.
