Chapter 330: That one really made my jaw drop.

Alanis looked at the necromancer with a bloodthirsty look in her eyes. A few seconds later, Rei emerged from the white fog. She was no longer shaking or scared instead she was swinging her staff up and down almost as if she was practicing bringing it down on skeletons. She also had a furious look in her eyes, though she wasn't making any noticeable actions with it like Alanis who was currently punting the remains of skeletons as she got closer to the necromancer.

Finally from behind the two, Rina emerged brushing her golden hair and casually walking towards the necromancer. Arjuna let out a nod of understanding. She must have been the reason why they were able to get through all of the skeletons.

The necromancer also soon realized that the only way the three people got to him was through his skeleton army. He quickly focused on all of his mana links and let out a scared yell.

Almost all of his skeletons had been destroyed! The necromancer backed away summoning all of his skeleton and undead from the forest. He raised his staff and was about to shoot out a spell at the annoying elf that was currently chucking the remains of his skeletons towards him. But as he did so a small chill emerged from covering his entire body, he paused looking at the elf standing behind them all. She didn't have a bow but was instead holding up her hand as a green swirl rotated around it. She looked at the necromancer and smiled gently.

He lowered his staff staring at Rina with a terrified expression. He knew instantly that he wouldn't be able to defeat the elf in the state he was in.

The necromancer turned around looking at Arjuna who was still up in the tree. He pointed his staff towards him, yelling out

"fine! I'll have you experience what I felt, the pain of losing your companions and the despair of not being able to do anything"

Saying that he raised his staff one more time. From his shadow tendrils expanded wrapping over his body. A few seconds later the tendrils disappeared and the necromancer disappeared with them.

A split second later a golden arrow flew through the place where the necromancer's head was.

Alanis let out an audible "tch" and walked forward towards where Arjuna was hiding.

With nothing to hide away from. He dropped to the forest floor. Alanis's furious expression dropped when she saw the familiar black-haired boy dressed in rouge gear standing in frount of the withered tree.

The white mist seemed to give his black hair and brown eyes a magnificent backdrop. His gaze wandered through the entire forest his thoughts seeming distant and unreachable.

Arjuna turned to the group of 3 that were rapidly approaching him and gave them a thumbs up.

"Nice timing," he said

Alanis rushed over to him and quickly checked him for any injuries grabbing Arjuna by the shoulders and turning him around as she worriedly appraised his body.

She finally let out a relieved sigh

"phew, no injuries, I was worried that you got poisoned"

Arjuna looked at Alanis in confusion

"poisoned?"

Alanis nodded her head,

"it would seem that necromancer loves using poison traps"

Arjuna looked to see Alanis's left shoulder bandaged. It was dark red, but she shook her head assuring Arjuna

"don't worry, Rina cured it already, it's just a minor wound now"

Arjuna let out a relieved sigh before handing an improved health potion to her just in case.

Rina's urgent voice stopped them from celebrating their reunion any longer.

"We must leave, this mission is too dangerous for you three"

Arjuna turned to Rina who was pacing around, her usually elegant hair was now slightly unkempt as she rubbed her chin.

"I underestimated the ability of the necromancer, I could take him if it were just me, but if he were the engage us three, he could easily injure and possibly even kill one of you"

"I thought this was just a simple B rank quest" Arjuna chortled

Rina answered

"it is, but to you at your level, it might as well be an S ranked one,"

Rina turned away tossing the three of them backpacks full of supplies

"take these and head out of the forest, I will subjugate the necromancer on my own"

Arjuna wacked away the backpacks with the back of his hand.

"I have a better idea," he said with a brilliant smile.

Rina turned around to look at Arjuna with narrowed annoyed eyes

"listen Arjuna, I don't have time for this..."

Arjuna interrupted Rina

"how about we not split up, but instead chase after the dude now? We just destroyed most of his skeletons and he also has made multiple statements that he is going to hunt down my companions"

Arjuna looked at Rei and Alanis who watching him and Rina exchanging words.

"so if the one person who can possibly beat this necromancer isn't with the group that he is professing to hunt down, we would be pretty screwed right? Instead let's go after that dude, using us as a sort of bait, also running away just isn't really our style"

Arjuna said with a small laugh

Rina paused looking at Arjuna with a serious expression

"do not think this is some sort of game, your lives are at stake, do you still want to do this?"

Alanis crushed another bone in her hand.

"I'm still mad at that dude for separating us"

she said letting the dust trickle through her hands and fall to the floor.

Rei nodded her head agreeing with Alanis while raising her staff and slamming down with it as hard as her tiny frame would allow.

Rina turned looking up at the small shine of the moon above them, most of it was shrowded by the white mist.

"not only is he getting stronger as more time passes, but he has been demonically influenced making his power severalfold stronger, you're right, we can't allow the necromancer to continue to terrorize the forest any longer."

Rina continued to think looking up the last remaining bits of light from the moon as her thoughts collided.

A few seconds later she turned to Arjuna and the rest.

"be grateful," she said her eyes glowing with a bit of dark green. A cold chilly breeze passed through the forest as she looked at them.

"you will now fight with the guild master of the Ivoryhood merchant guild, the sage of wind"

As she mentioned her titles, her eyes glowed with power. Pebbles and leaves slowly levitated. But just like that, the glow in her eyes faded and the levitating debris slowly fell to the floor again. She looked at the stunned Arjuna, Alanis, and Rei giving them a small wink.

A small cascade of leaves picked up by a sudden gust of wind swept around Rina, and soon it settled. But Rina wasn't there anymore, instead, her gentle laughter could be heard from the forest.

"well done," she said with a small giggle "even knowing the hopeless circumstances you were facing, you were still able to see the greater danger and cause not trying to escape to save your own lives but instead the good of the entire forest and land."

Arjuna turned around to see Alanis looking around for another skeleton remain to break, as she prepared to give the necromancer the biggest butt-kicking he would ever receive in his life. While Rei, well Arjuna didn't really know what she was doing, was it a ritual or something? Well, Rei continued to raise her staff and swing it down letting out a small giggle every now and then.

Arjuna grimaced

"uh, yeah, for the good of the forest"

Arjuna had no idea what happened to the two of them when he was separated from them, but honestly, he didn't want to ask. But he could feel that every time he was about to walk away, the two of them were staring straight at him, almost as if they would never let him out of their sight again.

Arjuna didn't really know what was going on, but Rina interrupted his thoughts with a sudden announcement.

"I will support you three when necessary, but I will allow you to deal with the necromancer on your own"

Arjuna shouted back slightly annoyed

"I thought you couldn't handle him?"

Rina laughed and answered

"I was lying, it was a test to see how you would respond, now I can see why Sninkkaakac has allowed you to try and become Nightfall Archers, perhaps you will be the group that finish what our's started"

Rina's voice trailed off as if she was thinking about something. But she quickly caught herself and continued.

"anyways, go and eliminate that necromancer, hurry, before he raises another army of the dead"

Arjuna nodded his head and hurried off into the white mist, Alanis and Rei close behind this time, determined never to lose Arjuna again.
