Chapter 17: "Red Strings"
"So does it mean Iam marrying him when I grow up?" I blink my eyes in wonder.
"Yes, honey. But it's yet to be official."
In my mind the thought of wearing that beautiful bridal dress got me flushed in excitement. I imagined how beautiful would I look in that attire? I did a little happy dance in my head and beam a bright smile in jolly.
While on the other side, an annoyed look flushed across my brothers' faces and gave this very weird reaction. "Dad! why was I not told?" A voice came loudly after the sudden announcement was made as if he couldn't comprehend. "I mean..." "As being the eldest son, I think I ought to know beforehand." Came the eldest one and spoke in a lower voice this time.
"I couldn't think of a great surprise other than this." Laughed father as if he enjoyed their baffled look.
Laughter and merry faces lighted up the grand hall and there was this beautiful music playing in the background. The young couples soon turned up for a dance. Now this is what I call a Christmas party! Every one looked very satisfied and joyful except for the brothers.
The party soon ends so do the guests leaves except for the Minamoto family. They were holding some files in their hands and was signing something in the paper after a series of going through into the file. Their faces beamed with the expression of a mutual agreement and they seal it with a handshake.
"Are you really okay with this?" Asked, the young boy to me. We were playing dollhouse with my dolls and bunny in my room.
"With what?"
"You know... the thing our dads said..." He shutter shyly.
"Of course! And you know what's the nicest thing?" I beam with a toothy smile and hug my bunny. "We will get to play every day." I wiggle my eyebrows. "And it will be so fun..!"
'And so destiny was slowly pulling the red threads. How was I to know that the boy I saved today was chosen to be my mate?'
We soon sat for the dinner party. And after the splendid meal we escort them out since it was almost midnight.
"See you then...." He says and gets in the car then waves me goodbye from the window. "Goodnight, will be waiting for your visit."
"Sure, I will." I smile and wave him back. After they all leaves we go back inside the mansion.
"Tch, I don't like him even a bit." Mumbled one of my brothers from the back.
"Did you said something?" I turn my head back.
"Nothing...." Aito dully replies and roll his eyes.
"But I clearly heard something."
"No you did not!....." After he said that he curses something under his breath. It wasn't audible enough for me to get the words but the three of them understood it from the way they were glaring at him so he loosens his attitude and murmurs in annoy. "Okay, okay..."
"Geez, why shout?" I rest my hands on my waist giving pouts.
"Just ignore him love, he doesn't know what he's saying, hm?" Warmly smiled the eldest one to me laying his hand on my shoulder.
"Okey if you say so..." I stick my tongue at Aito but quickly change my facial expression towards the eldest brother and smiles back at him which he scoffs in unbelieve. "So can I go to my room now?" I ask stifling my yawn.
"Yes, you can..."
"Alright so goodnight dear brothers!" That being said I head to my bedroom and throw myself on bed to sleep.
"Is she going to be snatch away right under our nose?" Said the third brother.
"It's not over until it's over. Dad clearly said it wasnt official so why are you guys so upset about this?" Came saying the second brother.
"But we all saw them signing the contract!" Retort the youngest one. "And this is what we wanted right? We all want to get rid of her right?"
"....." A look of confuse swept across their faces and the shut mouths that told it everything.
