Xiu Ying was on the sofa reading a book when Li Na entered the house. Xiu Ying looked up to see her friend in deep thought. "NaNa where were you today? I thought we agreed on getting a car after classes, but I was looking for you and did not see you. Did you forget something?" She looked at Li Na and her friend looked at the innocence she was portraying. She started to regret the deal, but Zhang Wei's face came to mind, and she smiled and thought 'It's only for a while. When I get him, I will solve this problem; It will be a win-win for everyone, and it will go according to plan. No one has ever resisted my charms anyway. With those thoughts, she calmed down and focused on Xiu Ying
"Sorry, I had something to look for after school. It was one of my notebooks and I could not leave it. Did I make you worry?"
She went towards Xiu Ying and rested her hands on her shoulders. "I'm fine. It was not too much of a problem. Sorry I forgot about the appointment." Xiu Ying shook her head and smiled. It was completely normal for one to be held back for schoolwork or to have forgotten something, so Xiu Ying wholeheartedly believed her explanation.
"Since there is a possibility that we may forget, why don't we schedule it or the weekend? We would both be free and can hang out afterwards, get some clothes and spend time till evening. What do you think?"
Li Na agreed and told Xiu Yong that she wanted to go change and freshen up. She entered her room and looked for a number on a phone. She dialed the number and it rang. After the third ring, the person picked up. "What's up? You called me and I was busy." On the line you could hear the voice of a female. "Master Lu, hurry up and come back. We are not done yet."
Li Na looked at her phone in disgust and started questioning this deal. Should she cut off this deal? She could monitor him and find chances to 'accidentally' meet him, but she doesn't know his schedule, so her only hope unfortunately is him.
"Are you serious about my friend? What the hell are you doing at a club at this hour, and after we just finished talking? Is this how Young Master Lu shows his sincerity ah?"
On the other side of the phone, you could hear loud music fading and girls complaining and calling out Young Master repeatedly. She then heard a clear voice
"I am still single until I have her and her 'best friend' did not tell her anything so as far as she is concerned, she is still living her life. Why can't I live mine ah?
He stopped in the mirror, adjusted his hair, and smiled to himself. He then saw a silhouette of two men. One was cold and silent, the other was chatty and jumpy. The cold man occasionally responded in short sentences. Lu Yifeng heard the chatty man.
"Zhang Wei, won't you spare me some face? How can you just leave in the middle of the game? I know our president is busy butt loosen up occasionally.
It indeed was Zhang Wei and Mo Jinkai, of course Jinkai being the chatty one. Lu Yifeng didn't pay much mind to the person on the phone. He approached the two.
"Young Master Zhang what a coincidence to see you here. Good evening." He turned to his companion and greeted him "Young Master Mo a pleasure to meet you. I am Lu Yifeng of the Lu family."
Mo Jinkai looked at the man and nodded, then turned to his friend as if asking 'do you know who this is?' Zhang Wei merely looked at him and greeted him monotonously. "Good evening Mr. Lu."
Of course, the call with Li Na was long forgotten and Lu Yifeng had forgotten to hang up. So as Li Na was about to insult him, she heard him call Mr. Zhang and immediately kept quiet. She listened in on the conversation for two reasons: one was to hear Zhang Wei's voice, and the other was to test whether Lu Yifeng really knew him. From the greeting she heard, he does seem to know him, so she had to be more patient with him from now on. She hung up the phone and started planning how to mee t Zhang Wei through Lu Yifeng.
While Xiu Ying downstairs, oblivious to all that recently happened, was cooking dinner. She made chicken and corn soup. She wanted to call Li Na, but she figured that Li Na must still be freshening up. She ate alone and texted Li Na that food was ready and went to her room.
After the encounter at the club…
Zhang Wei was finally alone in his study reviewing documents, with a glass of wine on the table when he received a phone call. He stopped what he was doing and looked coldly at the phone wondering who was disturbing his peace. He picked up the phone and when he saw who was calling, his gaze softened just a little bit. He answered the call and said with the gentlest voice he could.
"Yes Weixi?" He waited patiently for the person on the other side to speak. "Wei-ge" a girly voice screamed. "Why haven't you called? I miss you Wei-ge. When are you visiting? Do you know how sad I was when mummy and daddy said you couldn't come yesterday? Do you not want Weixi anymore?"
The girl was none other than Zhang Weixi, princess of the Zhang family and Zhang Wei's younger sister. She was only ten years of age. Zhang Wei was known as the cold, unapproachable CEO in the cyber security industry. He was cold to anyone but his family and those he trusted. Especially his younger sister and only sibling. He could never say no to the little girl because she almost did not make it into the world. Since the moment she was successfully born, she was spoilt by her whole family, including Zhang Wei.
"Weixi I could never abandon you. Big brother has just been very busy. I couldn't make it yesterday because I had a meeting. I promise to come visit you tomorrow okay?" He answered patiently to the little girl. The girl on the phone nodded then realized that he couldn't see her, so she giggled a little and said yes.
"Could you hand the phone to either mummy or daddy? Go play okay?" he asked Weixi. The little girl on the other side of the phone ran to give her phone to a middle-aged woman. The woman smiled dotingly at the young girl running away and signaling to her butler that she should be followed.
She returned her attention back to the phone. Before she could speak, Zhang Wei continued "Really mother, you use Weixi to bribe me?" The middle-aged woman smiled. The woman was Zhang Wei's mother Zhang Ziyi, successful actress and model. She looked nothing like a mother reaching her fifties, instead she looked like she was still in her thirties. She responded "I had no choice. You never visit anymore so this was the only way to do it. You can only blame yourself for this, and don't forget you are coming here tomorrow. Your father is also expecting you."
The woman said in one breath. Zhang Wei calmly looked forward. "Fine I will be coming tomorrow. I must go now. Tell Weixi that I will see her tomorrow." He waited for her to hang up before continuing his work. Zhang Ziyi, after the call, looked at the phone. She started thinking about her son. He is not too young anymore. He should be planning to settle down. He is a workaholic just like his father. Thankfully, she invited someone tomorrow as well. She could only hope it goes well.
