Chapter 67: The Reward

"Ugh"

Jason woke up as he opened his eyes for the first time in three weeks, His joints were quite stiff and his whole body felt weird as if it was stronger than before but somehow weakened.

He lifted his head to look around and he found that he was in quite a nice hotel room with luxurious chandeliers and fancy curtains. There were two beds in the room and he was on a nice comfortable bed with an iv drip attached to his forearm which was most probably filled with glucose. He knew how hard it was to obtain medical supplies in this era and he was thankful for his team for doing this much for him.

He moved his hand to take out the iv drip from his forearm but he used too much force and he yanked the whole iv drip off its stand causing a smashing noise as it crashed into the ground.

Jason winced on hearing the loud noise but Fortunately, there was no one around.

Ding*

The system deemed it the right moment to announce its presence as it hit his mind with constant ringing notifications.

Ding*

Congratulations to the host for Killing a High Mortal level enemy

Ding*

Congratulations to the host for levelling up to level 10

Ding*

Congratulations to the host for completing the level ten upgrade quest

Ding*

A new chain quest Named "Get Strong Fast" Is initiated.

The reward for each quest in this chain quest depends on your performance.

1st Quest: Kill Mutant animals:

Reward:

1000 coins per mutant animal killed.

Penalty:

Removed access to system store for 5 weeks

Time limit:

7 days.

Jason was quite surprised by the rewards of the quest as 1000 coins was no joke, he could buy a lot of things for 1000 coins. But what surprised him the most was the objective of the quest, He and not met any mutated animals until now and it might be quite hard to find them.

Jason then moved on to open the notification containing his completed quest to see what reward he had got for such a difficult quest.

Reach level ten in seven days.

Reward:

System helper.

Jason was confused by what this system helper was

"A system helper is a unique being absolutely loyal to the host, created by the system to help you in your endeavours in the apocalypse. You will get to choose its speciality and you can also choose its attributes." Ivy's timely voice sounded in his mind.

Jason was amazed by such a reward, this meant that he would have a loyal follower to help him always whom he could trust with any task.

Jason Immediately opened the system helper reward and he was greeted with a character creation UI similar to that found in games. There was a human body on the right side of the panel and there were character customization options on the right side.

There were detailed character customization options, he could customize every single part of the body of the helper.

"Is this helper Human?" Jason asked as the body structure of the helper seemed human and even the customization options constrained it to be in a human form.

"The helper can be considered human as it is based on the human gene structure. So He can also evolve like humans. There are 100 stat points to distribute to the helper so I insist you choose wisely how to allocate them. And also pay close consideration to its Specialization as it would pave way for its future growth." Ivy said with seriousness in her voice as this decision was quite important in determining the capabilities of the helper.

Jason nodded his head as he acknowledged her help and opened the specialization tab to see what kinds of specializations were there.

1.Fighter:

Fighters are very good at fighting in close quarters and it is never a good idea to fight them up close as you wouldn't even know how you got killed. They specialize in fighting with bare hands and cold weapons.

2.Scientist

Scientists are fanatic about technology and biology, they are very good at creating new technologies and discovering the hidden secrets inside the human body.

3. Constructor

Constructors are very good at building bases and strongholds in any apocalyptic environments. They are very proficient with all the techniques and technology needed to make a sustainable base anywhere in the world.

4.Mage

Mages are very good at controlling mana and they are very gifted in the use of one basic ability. The basic abilities include Fire, water, ice, wind, earth, metal control.

5.gunner

Gunners are very good at using ranged weapons and they can destroy a target from afar without the enemy even knowing about it.

6.cook

Cooks are very good at utilizing mana rich ingredients and cooking them in a way that can help increase the power of the eater.

The specializations were quite diverse, but he could only choose between fighter, gunner and mage as he needed the helper to be able to assist him in fights to balance his own decreased fighting capabilities.

Fighter specialization provides him with someone who can fight in close quarters acting as the main damage dealer or a tank.

Mage Specification provides him with someone who can teach Arya and Kim how to properly utilize their abilities and can work with them to fight the enemy using a powerful element.

Gunner specification on the other hand can provide him with someone who can provide excellent support and can snipe enemies from afar.

It was quite a tough choice and he needed to choose based on his relative need right now.
